These levels came from a contest by CarlSagan42 that got some Mario Maker players to make some great troll levels in Baba.

so in mariomaker troll levels, what guts came from was the streamer (two people to be exact) freekandgeek complaining that troll levels don't have the guts to clear your progress at the end, so then some other troll creators in response made levels did have "GUTS" and that is why when you pushed the GUTS into "level has GUTS" it made you exit the level
there are a lot of traditions in the mario maker(1+2) troll level scene
CARL is CRASH
so Carl (from channel "CarlSagan42") in one of his troll levels used a exploit in found in mario maker 2 which made it so if you didn't go though a section of a level fast enough, the game would crash
(it was a weird interaction with a helmet which can bop enemies above you and decreasing water level if I recall), so you had to fully restart the game, go into your downloaded levels, start the whole level all over again
the conmunity got back at him by finding another exploit which crashed the game and had that in a level which he played
for all the fish
in mario maker, fish are often used as an enemy to just fall on you and kill you
for example out of a invisible block or regular block, or chucked at you from a far or from a bullet bill cannon
with more complex stuff involving getting a person to stand in a specific spot and then a fish just landing on your head killing you

A tl;dr of the Mario Maker troll community is that they make bad level design into an art form. Infernal Ramblings made a three-hour documentary on it, if you want to know way, way more.

Except it's not even bad level design. It's good level design (it has to be, or the levels aren't fun or amusing).
The key element is that troll level design works by subverting the player's expectations in humorous ways.
The 9 hour history video is titled something like "an incomplete history of troll levels" or something.

I play Mario Maker, and the fish are reference to a common troll level trick in which Mario jumps, but hits an invisible block that releases a fish enemy (Cheep-cheep) which drops directly down on Mario and likely kills him.

2:01 was not expecting my level to ever be played by icely! This was actually one of my first baba is you custom levels I made since I didn't have the pc version yet but thanks for being able to play it. The reason why all the other trolls were kind of simple was because the crash system lagged my switch a ton and I didn't know the speed on the pc lol
