Absolutely Brilliant Songwriters and musicians. Funeral For A Friend are hands down the most underrated band of the 2000s. Nobody wrote riffs like them. Kris Combs, Darren, Gareth are all amazing guitarists. I had no idea they play Marshall now, those are sounding fantastic, they played Bogner amps on Hours 2005 album, sounded incredible.
Big stu must be buzzing up there knowing he brought the boys back together, y plas was absolutely buzzing that first night. Hopefully we finally get the next show in 2022
At 14/15 I probably learned most of Hours (2005) on guitar. Roses for the Dead riff was a favourite its with first time I'd done 2 handed tapping. I think someone had uploaded a powertab to UG. I remember also recording a version of Recovery on some dodgy cracked version of Cubase using some headphones and a line 6 Ux1s . The UX1 still works! 😂 Ah good times. I'm 30 in march and I still play bits and pieces of those riffs everytime I pick up a guitar - even if that guitar now has 7 strings 😂 Thank you FFAF :)
@@JD_13 I probably downloaded most of them - 😂 might even still have them on my old laptop. I also had most of A7X city of evil. One of these days Ill be good enough to play all of syns solos lol.
Wales ?! I’m from Philadelphia, PA and these guys had a damn near huge scene here in the US. This music was apart of many millennials formative years - late ‘2006 onwards. Legends
Don't think I have ever heard of these guys, just clicked for some reason to hear the amps, but these guys seem like some good dudes, and great players. Def will ahve to check them out!
what a treat to hear funeral for a friend for the first time. especially now with all the, somewhat meh, new music out there. hope you still listen to them!
Really nice to hear what they have to say about the scene when they were coming up and reuniting & people's reactions to it. I'd heard of them a few years ago but first heard their music when I heard Red Is The New Black in an episode of Torchwood last summer, so sick. Their melodies carry so much emotion 🤘👌but perfect blend with that aggression and grit as well with the tones and also the screamy vocals. I must check out full albums soon
Love you guys so much, the guitar parts really inspired me, I'm now a full time guitar/music teacher. The way you guys wrote the guitar parts together and how they blended together so well, was so inspiring to me. Love you guys forever, always have been a big part of my life, still listening to your music today, its timeless. Keep rocking. Love from Scotland
They came back in 2019 for some benefit shows to raise money for the family of a friend of theirs who passed away from a terminal illness, and now they're playing shows again
I think you dudes are the sh1t. I have always loved FFAF and spent some time in hospital. Your album hours helped me when I got out. You guys set the stage for future generations. Thank you.
They have the best guitar riffs in post-hardcore 🤘
funeral for friend, Saosin, Silverstein, they got the best riff in the genre

I agree they were so good, my fav band back in the day
They are incredible live. Remember seeing them back in 06
@@EvolutionIX219 Yeah i saw them at Taste of Chaos tour at that time they were the best band on the bill.
The GOAT post-hardcore band 🤘

Playing at Slam Dunk in 2024 🤘
Started listening in 03/04 I believe. Hours is still one of my favorite albums from that decade. From start to finish it's amazing.
It really is. Their strongest album imo
Funeral for a Friend were criminally underated as song writers and as a band. Roses for the dead is beautiful.
Favourite band ever. Can’t wait for the January show, praying it doesn’t get moved back again 🤞🏻this has got me really in the mood.

A 7 string guitar? Time to play "Aftertaste" :)
Powertabs ftw. There was one dude on an old tab website that uploaded powertabs of both casually and hours. What a legend that guy was.
Dude, that was the first two hand taps in learnt and got me back into FFAF, it also made me realise how good they was musically

@@Emm_R_Guitar i have a folder of about 300 tabs dating back to like 2005 haha. Some gems in there, and some i probably wont be trying to learn now 😅
I love FFAF so much. Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation is a classic.
Rookie of the year riff sounds nice here
This is one of the greatest guitar oriented bands I’ve ever heard. Been a fan for 20+ and when I get into FFAF binges, they’re borderline obsessive.

Darran Smith. As black as the night. What a legend.
FFAF 💚 The first album is so great I never stopped listening to it . Great composers , great songs . So happy you come back !
The band that made me want to play guitar, sing and do both of those things in a band. FFAF is where it all started for me. Can’t thank them enough. 🖤
im straight from south wales and back in the day when i as 17(im 37 now) funeral was the shiiiit, respect from a old fan boys :)

Hope these guys can make it back to the states sometime. They would be a perfect fit for Furnace Fest.
Rookie of the Year sounds so powerful as guitars only
love seeing these dudes get their MUCH DESERVED flowers!!!

have you listened to Welcome Home Armageddon? truly underrated album, and the guitars are crazy as ever!
I'm glad to see you again. I'm a big fan since 2005. Greetings from the Philippines.
Ha they don’t play the riffs like Kris does, he’s killer on guitar! Awesome that they got back together!
Love both of these Legends of the Shred worlds.
Professor Snape is a shredder now
Brilliant band.
Never left my heart.
Woah they are back?!
They came back in 2019 for some benefit shows to raise money for the family of a friend of theirs who passed away from a terminal illness, and now they're playing shows again
They riff its melodical my favourite band
We are all looking forward to the re-release of the England-made Marshall JCM 2000 dsl.

Yeaaahhh! This is rad af yo 💛💛
Wicked band! Could have sworn they use Mesa Boogie though?
They used to use Bogner and Blackstar!
Kris Roberts wrote all of their most iconic and bad ass riffs. Why isn't he in here?
👏👏🤘
COME BACK FUNERAL
I'm fire my old is comeback

I missed the emo days
04:13 All The Rage
Hondo Maclean gang
They need to get back together quick time.
Song/riff at 1:06?
Rookie of the year. A classic, a master piece of art
Does anyone know the guitar models too?
I could be wrong but Darren is playing his old custom 22 and then Gavin is playing a sc245 the old ones with the wrap bridge
I think it’s an SC250 but either way a PRS singlecut
song at the beginning?
