i find it amazing that he uses an .80 on the low E, on a les Paul, and the intonation seems to be pretty good XD. Although that is a Tad thick for C and drop B flat.
Though you only see mesas in this video, the cab that is mic'd up to the right of him is actually their custom omega cabs. I plan on getting one within the next two months.
That's a bass cab. And there are 4 guitar cabs. 2 are Mesa's (Jona's) and 2 are Matamp (Lee's). Their Omega cabs are for North America. In Europe they tour with Marshalls.
He uses some pretty thick strings even for playing in C standard/ Drop Bb. I believe it starts with an .11 on the top but goes to an .80 on the bottom.
+Ollie Blunt Guitar center.. Ask for a 8 string set and the low string set. or you can just order the single .80 guage string by itself online for like 2 bucks. Lee uses a standard 12 guage set with the .80 on the bottom.
lee has his guitars custom made, using 80. strings on ur guitar as it is normally wont work, the stings wont have enough slack. Epiphone make a lee malia custom anyways, just buy that if ur rich i guess lmao.
Good lesson. But of all the songs from sempiternal, he had to show this one, this song is pretty self explanatory. he shouldve shown a song like shadow moses that has more intersting lead parts and whatnot.
Sean Lawlor C Standard tuning but it's possible to play this song in Drop C. The tone is a combination of really expensive amps, some great pedals, and an .80 gauge C string.
The whole song is 1000100001000001000
But that's damn good tone
I don't even own a guitar,I just came here to see lee
same
retweet
that tone is fucking gorgeous
His tone is perfect.
that tone is amazing man. love this guys guitar playing. very underrated
I don't even play guitar, I just watched it just to see Lee 😂😂
That custom 0.80 E string is where all that awesome tone is coming from!
Sounds so fucking awesome
shit i love lee's tattoos!
Lee is my hero
i find it amazing that he uses an .80 on the low E, on a les Paul, and the intonation seems to be pretty good XD. Although that is a Tad thick for C and drop B flat.
I want a bracelet made of one of Lee's used 80 gauge strings.
+edveda2 if lee stopped playing guitar, i'd hang myself with those
same
The chorus riff kinda sounds like the start of Liberate by Slipknot
80 gauge string for C standard? I use a 74 for A# and I thought that was thick!
It's freaking insane that he uses an 80 gauge string on the bottom
I never thought Gibson les paul would fit for metalcore.
John Kim
ist his set up the pedals etc
John Kim He put emg to this gibson :D
+John Kim (MCRkilljoyBVBarmy) surprising that he hasnt even changed the pickups even
Ikr. Probably the pedals.
+frostmourne Those aren't Standard Les Paul pickups. He definitely changed them.
Wow Lee has so much talent just blows my mind. I love Lee Malia and I always will
Goosebumps from those riffs and tones ..... going to see them for the first time live in 2 god daaaamn days !!!!!! tremendous tones
Tuned to standard C (like drop a# but tune your 6th string 1 full step up)
can you guys give him some respect.. it's easy to play but it's okay as long as the melody is nice..
+Akiid Fairusham i agree, this is an easier song to play but that doesn't mean he isn't an amazing guitarist, which in fact he actually is.
He's so underappreciated
They need to do more of this.
This is also one of the easier songs so it would have been cool to see something else.
He's always generally shy..
when he mentioned that he was listening to slipknot, i was guessing he was listening to 'liberate' which the riffs sounds familiar. great song btw!
i met him in Brixton so lovely
I don't even play guitar but I'm watching it anyway :D
you got skillz yo XD
Dat tone tho
badass video! definitely need more of these from BMTH
For those of you wondering, it's a Bareknuckle Warpig in the bridge position, I have one ordered.
Not in this guitar its not, thats a Lace Drop N Gain, the Warpigs are in his others. Hope you enjoy yours when you get it, they're utterly monstrous
It's a lace drop n gain
I would love to have his guitar amp and pedal setting. that sound is so GOOD!
I want lee to teach me guitar
Though you only see mesas in this video, the cab that is mic'd up to the right of him is actually their custom omega cabs. I plan on getting one within the next two months.
That's a bass cab. And there are 4 guitar cabs. 2 are Mesa's (Jona's) and 2 are Matamp (Lee's). Their Omega cabs are for North America. In Europe they tour with Marshalls.
04GUITARPLAYER04 Jona isn't part of BMTH since a few months, just to clear things up
Yeah I know. But he was the only one who used Mesa's. So the band probably still own them.
This dude rules. Miss ya mate.
Omg he just said groovy! I've been trying to bring that back!!
amazing sound
How can his top string, the .80 string, play in C standard? Shouldn't the string break?
Some people like it really tight
Im not sure though
Markus Lundgren Not if you make the tension lower on the string. I used a 060 gauge string and i use to play in drop D with it.
External What do you have for the other strings?
i used Ernie Balls Skinny top heavy bottom(059-010), Im now using a 070 gauge with Dunlop 12's.
Nice lesson! I loved the rig too! Pretty nice!
when he uses 8 string guitar strings on a les paul
Liberate!! my madness!
Wats the jam in the beginning
That first riff slowed down sounds like pantera
He uses some pretty thick strings even for playing in C standard/ Drop Bb. I believe it starts with an .11 on the top but goes to an .80 on the bottom.
I love their Nile influence on this song :D
Please make more of this kind of lesson videos! :D
so impressive I can't believe my ears... T_T
if you think this is impressive you need to get your ears checked go listen to some steve vai then come back
Damn those Matamp cabs are sick
lee is amazing
this is art
I LOVE YOU LEE
Great Work Guys 🔥
I love you Lee. 💕
***** the band he referred to when he said "Egyptian sounding" was Nile
holy. his strings are the mother of thickness
he even uses a bass string actually x)
haha ok^^ that explains why you dont get any tremolo effects :D
I talked to him on the 21th of Sept and he told me that he used earnie ball strings 34-9 gauges
Lee's awesome!
very very difficult riffs. be careful...don't break your fingers
+Neehan yes!!!!
hahaha
+Neehan preach it
the butthurt is getting real in a new lvl
that purple can of drink is dandelion and burdock FYI
Awesome!
Cant help but sing along from just listening to this haha
Please make more of those vids.
does anyone know where you can buy 80. strings?
+Ollie Blunt Guitar center.. Ask for a 8 string set and the low string set. or you can just order the single .80 guage string by itself online for like 2 bucks. Lee uses a standard 12 guage set with the .80 on the bottom.
It's a custom Ernie Ball .80 gauge string. They're available on their official website.
lee has his guitars custom made, using 80. strings on ur guitar as it is normally wont work, the stings wont have enough slack. Epiphone make a lee malia custom anyways, just buy that if ur rich i guess lmao.
anyone else in fucking love with the bridge riff?? :0
HEY, does anyone know what his guitar is tuned at?
zachariahm10 C Standard
I LOVE U LEE MALIA ♥♥♥♥
i love it
I've gone a whole year thinking this was in drop c as opposed to c standard, my life is a lie...
Ngl this is rlly good but he's just like "eh this is it half speed" XD EH EH EH lov le
I just gained so much fuckin respect for this dude the moment he said slipknot
wow you're so amazing!!!
LEE IS LIFE O K A Y
fucking eargasm
awesome
We need more plz plz plz plz
Keep upload dude
simply awesome. :3
is it a trick of the light or are Lee's strings fucking massive?
64 Gauge strings :D they are like mini bass strings
holy christ alive. kudos to Lee man, he makes that shit work.
Standard set of 12's with an .80 for the low E. I'd call that massive.
Lee uses an 80 gauge string for his top string.. So yes his strings are massive
Actually 80 mate haha
Whats the name of the song that he plays just when the video starts?
Love this :)
is it tuned on drop C?
I really like how his entire rig and lot of his riffs are influenced by stoner doom and sludge. Imean. Comeon. Dat matamp
What's the song in the beginning?
what are the strings and how you got it tuned?
I guess it's cool these days to play guitar on one string.
Not saying his tone isn't good but if you want to hear tone check out ola englund he's a beast
Amazeballs
from wich song is the riff on the beginning of the video??
"It sounded too new metal" xD
"nu" metal.
Not "new" metal.
Its a sub-genre of metal. :P
Nu*
What effect does he have on when he is playing that solo type part?
+abrams455 Delay and Reverb... He even said it in the video...
I think reverb, sorry it's so late
Does anyone know what guitar he uses in this? I wanna buy it.
I love you.
that's fuckin sick^.^ thank you so much!
Nile and slipknot fucking rock
what is the egyptian band he said?! PLEASE?
Playing this song on a les Paul? I wasn't expecting that. \m/
Thats mainly what he plays. Saw them live and yeah he plays it haha
That's cool, I would love to see them live
Damn i hope someday im gonna have some Les Paul guitar...
an active pick up for the bridge and a passive for the neck ?...hey thats pretty good
+Schmunkowiez Lol I hate active pickups not gonna lie but its better to have the best of both worlds for what kind of tone bmth goes for
+Schmunkowiez no they are both passive. the bridge pickup is a lace sensor drop & gain, and the neck is just the stock gibson pickup
what is the egyptian band he said?!
Good lesson. But of all the songs from sempiternal, he had to show this one, this song is pretty self explanatory. he shouldve shown a song like shadow moses that has more intersting lead parts and whatnot.
can someone tell me what exact effects he's using?
Boss Reverb and Digital Delay pedals with an OCD, or a Chicken Soup drive pedal.
What model or company does the bridge pick up belong to?
It's just a stock les Paul pickup
Lace.
yeah i was wrong i was thinking about his other LP it has stock pickups in it. my bad dude
+Hait Parikh I believe it's a Lace Drop & Gain
+Hait Parikh Its a Bareknuckle Warpig
does anybody know how low hes tuned? and/or how to make a tone like that?
And a Bareknuckle Warpig in the bridge position.
Sean Lawlor C Standard tuning but it's possible to play this song in Drop C. The tone is a combination of really expensive amps, some great pedals, and an .80 gauge C string.
