Beginner niche - you're right, it's difficult to dip your toe in when everything is so expensive and a lot of notes are very specific
Attracting a mate scents - as soon as you said that not everything is about that, I instantly wanted to have a list of perfumes that ARE about that.
And to counter that, also I want to hear a list of perfumes that your husband does not like on you, but you love.

Also, I love Lost Alice for spring. I love her for all year round actually, creamy, tea note, lactonic, citrus, woody…she’s everything. A very unique scent, I find. Have you smelled Masque Milano Lost Alice? Cool bottle too. You should sample if you haven’t already.
I used to wear Fendi back in the day. While wearing it, I was told I smelled like bug spray 😂
I wear a lot of different fragrances depending on my mood, but lately I've only been wearing Bohemian Orange Blossom by atelier cologne. It's not that intricate and not that expensive, I simply love it right now.

Not a conventional spring scent per se, but I just bought Jeux De Peau and it cost me a pretty penny. It was worth it for me because I am obsessed with lactonic and bread-y fragrances, and it's kind of the perfect intersection to my nose, while still being light enough to not get overbearing in any weather 😊 also excited to bring out all my Daisy Love variations, and Xerjoff Cruz del Sur II (mmmm that one is delicious)
I always want to know affordable options! Same as you, I can enjoy both more expensive niche and more affordable dupes.

I am almost done my backup bottle of Ouai too 😩 Mojave Ghost wasn’t a love at first sniff, but it has grown on me sooo much. To me it smells exactly like those old fashioned candies called floral gums.
I’m really curious about Penhaligon’s house. Especially the springy ones like Luna, The Favourite, and Blenheim Bouquet.

I love bitter scents for spring - scents that smell brisk and clean without any "fresh" notes. EL Private Collection is the closest thing I have ever had to a signature scent, and it really shines in spring. Bvlgari The Rouge is nice, too.

Greenwich was a recent pick-up for me and I absolutely love it!! It’s so beautiful on its own and layers with so many different scents…one that is stunning with it is Lancome Oud Bouquet!! Florals and fruits have been the main scents I’ve been enjoying lately…EBK Yacht Desire, Xerjoff Cruz Del Sur II and Nishane Hundred Silent Ways are all faves!
So avant garde has a few of these in sample sizes, so I'm thinking of picking a few up. I got a sniff of pear inc. in store, and i liked it on paper. I may grab a travel size of it.
My current favourite hot weather perfume is Miami Blossom by Escada. Also just wanna say I've been loving this channel of perfume
I have to admit, I am a bit of a snob, I do prefer my niche over other perfumes. I like a little bit of weirdness in a fragrance, and that is harder to find with designer perfumes. I don't mind a good dupe though. Lovely list. I would like to add Coccobello by James Heeley, I think it would fit this list perfectly.
The Greenwich village perfume is so good but I can't justify buying it for that much money. 😫

I actually blind bought 2 fragrances that I ended up loving them ❤ I got Omnia amethyst by Bvlgari ( Irisy ,powdery, airy, and angelic to me at least) & Still by JLO ( green, fresh ,herbally, bitter tea and like Rosalie vibes , the character from Grimm )😅😊 , obviously I'm so excited about using them this spring , I also have almost finished 30ml English pear & freesia by Jo Malone (green , sharp & oddly soft too, and sophisticated), 3 Elizabeth Arden green tea perfumes: 1-(the OG whic is so balanced for my nose, it does actually left my spirit when i feel sad , its a fresh citrusy calm & a bit spicy ) & 2-the pear blossom one (which is a bit fruity & sweeter) ,3- the mimosa which is so (powdery, chic, elegant & some how fluffy) 😂❤ and the last one perles de lalique by lalique which is also a musky woody powdery goddess 😂😂😅 I have a type haha I love wearing it for evenings & events! I have two more fragrances, but they're so winter to my nose right now : Hugo Boss privet accord for her (which I love wearing it elegantly in spring nights too ❤ and the Van cleef Orchidee Vanille ( the ice cream cone scent for winter 😂)
I've got samples of my way ; the og candy bomb & the Florale (has a neroli note, the 1st time I've smelled it in the winter i was like : EEWW!!!! & a week ago I did like it !!! It's like the vintage elegant version of the wild, joyful bubble gummy OG my way 😂😂😂) 🎉
I want to get samples of Jo Malone peony blush & the pomegranate noir & nishane 100 silent ways , byredo Mojave ghost & la tulip ! And some watermelon that I could find 😅 oh also mango !!!

Have you seen the Nette fragrances now available at Sephora?! Zero reviews!!! I want to smell them so bad but I know my local store won’t have them. I wonder if you would review the sample pack?! La Forêt & Thé Vanille are so appealing to me. ❤❤❤
For what it’s worth, I bought the sample pack and Thé Vanille was a clear stand out for me. I don’t even know how unique it is (I don’t have Lauren’s talent for describing fragrances) but it really brings something and is a wonderful layering scent IMO. I like it so much that I bought the travel spray and I would consider a full bottle once it’s empty.
I love Saint Julep... but I want so so much more from it. Bought the body oil , hoping it will amp it up for me when layered with the perfume!

I just tried Byredo's PULP and fell in love! Fig!! And all sorts of sweet fruits....it lingered for hours. The first Byredo that I loved immediately. I really want to try out more of their fragrances. I have Zara's Fields at Nightfall which is creamy georgeousness and I'm told it's a dupe for the Zadig & Voltaire you mentioned! I just bought Zara's Red Temptation Summer and Aqua di Parma's Fico and love love love them all for Spring. Yes please more affordable scents and a video helping us dive into niche!

If you like Byredo Sundays, check out Narciso Rodriguez Neroli Ambree. It's neroli and fragipani with tart, fruity sweetness and a soft musk. It's so uplifting and fresh for spring. It's my favorite fragrance from the line.

Milky Musk is so nice. I recently tried Acqua di Parma’s Yuzu and really like it! If you like a something with citrus, floral, wood, and musks for the warmer weather you should check it out! One of my favorite spring perfumes is Byredo’s La Tulipe - this is green, delicate, femme, floral, burgeoning spring in a bottle!

Girl Costco is where it's at for fragrance! I got the 200ml bottle of Baccarat for $450. I know it's still crazy expensive but waaaaay less. And fragrance friends it's still there, so run don't walk if you want it for nearly $200 less.
Costco does have some amazing deals!! I was eyeing the BR540 Extrait and it’s a great price… but even then it’s so dang expensive!! Haha
I also got that Vilhelm set! It was so surprisingly good!!! I loved all 3! Mango skin is going to be my vacation scent that’s coming up. I love morning chess. It’s a little masculine but I love it. And dear Polly is great! So happy with it made me want to try more. So I bought a 20ml of poets of Berlin. Amazing!!! And a sample of moon carnival… still deciding but probably not for me

I had the Mojave Ghost Ouai leave in conditioner too which made me fall in love with the scent! It was the actual best I hope they bring it back again and I’ll buy like 5 bottles! My most recent purchase is Dear Polly, I’m so in love with how uplifting but unique the scent is. I think we have similar taste in fragrances so I love watching your reviews. Thanks! Can I recommend my absolute favourite perfume, it’s from Frederic Malle- music for a while. It’s a unisex pineapple caramel and it’s to die for!

I have a sample of that Philosykos, I have not tried it yet. The I Am Trash is a really cool concept, it's very fresh and modern. My fave to bust out in Spring is Florabotanica and Rosabotanica, not technically niche but discontinued and getting harder to find😢😢

I love Saint Julep! I bought is this past winter and am really excited to really get some wear out of it. I'm also excited to be wearing You or Someone Like You (can you tell I like mint?) And The Ghost in the Shell by Eldo. I'm also planning on buying Pistachio by D.S. and Durga soon. I think that will be super cozy on spring rainy days.

Omg how naive I was!! 😂😂 Mojave Ghost was one of those scent on the wishlist and I knew I was going to get at some point but then I would always get the new perfume out or pick something else when the time came so I finally just pulled the trigger!!
@@laurenmaefragrance I had been hearing about Mojave Ghost for a while, primarily from Kathleen Lights. I actually went into a Bloomingdale’s to smell it but couldn’t afford it. And then my mom swooped in and bought the big bottle (she couldn’t afford) for herself!!😂
But it was you who convinced me to finally try the scent via the leave-in conditioner. And then I got a dupe from Oil Perfumery. And then I got the real thing (fyi I actually like the oil dupe better!).

You listed so many of my faves. Have you smelled Liis scents? Wondering if the new PDM is similar to Floating. One umbrella is one of my fave bottles although I always feel it’s a fall scent bc so cozy but I love it so much I wear it to bed.
Have you tried any Miller Harris perfumes? They are lovely, especially Scherzo.
Do you have any other creed fragrances? I have never smelled them but it seems to be very popular with fragrance groups - maybe mostly men talk about it?
