This is another really lovely job, well done! You're inspiring me. It's perfectly timed, too, as I have a scruffy one sitting on my workbench and looking at me imploringly! I still have my original one from childhood - I remember putting the stickers on with my Dad. Sadly it's in need of much work now.
Wow that toy car is over half century old and it was in really bad condition. Paul you gave that van a second life and made it new again👏 Amazing restoration🚙🍦
These Ford Thames vans were based on the Anglia saloon car.....an icon of my childhood. I don’t remember seeing one as an ice cream van though 🤔 Beautifully done and a joy to watch 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻
That looks amazing! I cannot imagine how much time it must have taken to recreate all of the decals and the canopy on the back -- there is so much detail.
If you are not a jeweller then you must be a very good surgeon the way you operated on that ice cream van with those miniature stickers. A JOB WELL DONE!!!
Great video showing all the techniques, I've never seen someone mould tyres before that was interesting. Even the detail of recreating the box was a nice touch.
Tobie i Twojej rodzinie życzę miłego weekendu i pozostania w dobrym zdrowiu. Pozdrowienia z Cuxhaven, Paul 😎🍦👍🏼🇵🇱✌🏼🇩🇪👍🏼🍦🤠 Did I ever mention that I like pick-ups (or UTEs as they say in Australia). Great restoration, Paul. (It seems, you forgot a sticker on the "driver's side" 😜) And now in summer (currently 30 degrees here at the North Sea) you are especially happy about an ice cream van. Definitely a thumbs up from me 👍🏼. Thanks for sharing mate. Have a nice weekend with your family and stay healthy.
Pozdrowienia, Joachim
In pursuit of perfection, well you've cracked it. Lovely finish including the small decals. Well done Paul.... Popping out to the fridge to get an ice cream!!!!!! PS I bet the thumbs down was from a person who prefers Lyons ice cream to that if Walls!!!!
Eres genial. Te saludo desde Buenos Aires Argentina.
Just a friendly suggestion but if you want to get the yellowing out try this. 1rst get a sealable container that's clear 2nd wrap all areas but the lid with tin foil after placing part in container add hydrogen peroxide i think a 10% variant cover and place a uv light over it and let sit for 24 hrs and your plastics will be white or clear there's a few toy restorers that use this one or 2 use a paste i think its like a hair care paste
Thank you very much . I have heard about it, but I have also heard that plastic crumbles after such an operation. I will try to use this suggestion. Best wishes
@@PaulRestorer I think that's a bit of a myth Paul, from what I understand, its actually reversing the effects of UV light exposure, bonding back together the formulation of the plastic that has become unstable, I believe its a retardant chemical in the plastic that has become unstable and turns the plastic yellow. Its extremely popular with toy and video game console restorers, which surely wouldn't be the case if it was going to cause harm to there prized possessions.
@@TheToyBoy1978 Thank you very much for your clarification, I will definitely try this process during one of the films with yellowed plastic. Best wishes
I have one of these partly restored. It has the wind up chime box fitted to it, not sure what the tune is supposed to be though! I have discovered that Ford Riviera blue is an almost exact colour match. Keep up the good work!
I ALMOST bought this casting off eBay the other day but the frontend was missing and I don't hav a 3D printer. Anyway... another amazing job my friend 😺👍
This vehicle seems like a funny dwarf hearse. More for cold bodies than ice cream, HA, HA !!!😅😋 Perfect job. As always. Thank you, Paul. 👍🏻×2 000+🍦 (France)
Great job, place the sun yellowed plastic parts in a tub of hydrogen peroxcide and put uv light over it for a good few hours, maybe a day or so, and they will look as good as new with no yellowing, 👍🏻
I had this model it had the handle that played a tune but i turned it backwards and it broke off the metal strips so dont be tempted Dont do this.why did some have this and some models not ,id like to know?
Congratulations Paul! Amazing work as usual. There is a channel at RUclips called TRG Restorations, were a guy restores old Tonka toy trucks, and he uses a solution and an UV light to fix this yellow color in old plastic and acrilic parts. Maybe It can help you in your next restorations. Regards from Brazil!
Bloody marvelous - I had one of these as a kid in the 60's /70's - brings back great childhood memories.
Cool
Your very skilled and professional, brilliant restoration
Thank you very much

I had the original as a boy. The top half of mine was a cream colour, not white. Great to see this restoration though. Great work.
Thanks for watching!
