THEY WON EVERY ONE !!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH they deserved it the most (sorry to anyone who hasn't watched it yet)
So happy he won! he totally deserved it! he has been the most consistent and best dancer of the whole competition! just angry that Craig never gave him a 10, he deserved a 40!
That look they give eachother at 1:29 is just everything. I think this was their final dance of the entire series so just give themselves to the dance 😍👌🏼
I honestly don't think I've ever been happier about a winner. This is by far my favourite dance they did as well and seeing them do it in the final and enjoy themselves so much that they broke character genuinely made me cry.
Couldn't agree more. I've never seen a couple on Strictly before or since who were so purely in it for the joy of dancing with each other, and that's what made them so incredible to watch. The fact that even Aliona can't keep the smile off her face here (in a Paso of all dances) makes this the best example of that connection, and possibly makes it my favourite dance in the history of the show. Their Show Dance and their Ballroom Tango were right up there, as well.
What I loved about Jay and Aliona from the start was that they stayed true to all the styles they performed with plenty on content and technical ability. I dance myself and loved Jay's technical ability and being able to tell the emotion through his body. S glad he won
Near the start of this year's competition I posted a comment that Jay should take up professional dancing as a career and this performance has only reinforced my earlier view. Well done to Jay and Aliona, all the other contestants and everyone involved in this great show which was possibly the best season to date.
So, so pleased! His jive was outstanding but I LOVED this dance too and with the perfect song to dance to in their last dance! It doesn't matter that he didn't get top marks, people voted for him, not only for his (week 3!) jive, but because he has come across as such a lovely guy throughout the entire show. I'm thrilled for him!
I have been deeply impressed by Jay's dancing (and personality) since being stunned by his elegant turns out of hold in the Waltz. To my keen amateur eyes (numerous dance styles, including an enthusiastic albeit somewhat inept first attempt at ballet as a pretty mature adult...) his previous experience showed early on in the turns, isolations, and ballet-influenced arms and extensions. But it's also apparent how he FEELS the music, to the extent that syncopation looks effortless and transitions are beautifully fluid. That's a talent imho, not something that's easily learned. He's also been so committed to perfecting the techniques and nuances of each style, and I think some viewers are not aware of the complexity of the choreography he's done due to how well he's (largely!) executed it. I actually love that he appears genuinely focussed in the moment, enjoying, savouring the dance and the lovely connection with his partner rather than forcing the expressions deemed necessary by the 'rule book'...his movements and his posture speak volumes...and the natural smiles that they both don't even try to suppress during this Paso just show their true joy of dancing. No wonder the public largely took him to their hearts. He appears to truly be leading each dance, even improvising the lead from what I've read after the first Quickstep mistakes, and made challenging dance styles (Rumba, Paso...which can so easily be under or overdone by the male) look simultaneously sensitive/elegant and sensual/masculine. Strictly could almost do with having a prize for leaders and prize for followers...not that either gender (typically...I've seen some amazing same-gender partnerships) is better than the other, but the requirements are so so different... he dances the way I would LOVE a partner to dance with me!! I've never seen such a cool and sexy jive on Strictly either! I suspect he genuinely treasured the entire experience above the need to win. It was so refreshing to see that. However I am thrilled he did. I personally imagine an element of contemporary dance would have been outstanding in the showdance...his shaping and control are glimpsed here, expecially out of hold, but I can see their real enjoyment dancing the showdance and this and I so hope he keeps dancing.
+Emma Campbell thanks Emma :) . Minor correction I think it might have been the Foxtrot where he improvised after the mistake not the Quickstep as I wrote.
So so so proud and happy for Jay! How far he's come as a performer and a dancer! That little shy guy at the start to this bubbly cool dude that can dance fantastic! Always takes the judges critics to heart and they've been so hard on him... Worthy winner! Well done Jay and Aliona!
CHAMPIONS!!!! CANT STOP WATCHING THIS - This was always my favourite dance. incredible thanks Jay and Aliona for all these beautiful memories. We shall love you forever xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I adore the smile (and was there a little wink from Jay too?!) they give each other on the line "I did it my way" near the end! I think staying true to Jay/themselves, was something they were proud of, even if it meant they didnt win (which they did anyway)! when they won you hear Aliona quietly say to Jay "we did it together, together on our terms"
Sophie Louise indeed. I've missed strictly this year, just purely because 1. Can't stand the judges anymore. 2. Pros are pretty poo.3. Contestants are awful. Tuning out. Never watching it again. Such a shame I loved this programme for so so many years. I'm so sad
with regards to the final and winning, it's like aliona said- "we did it our way"...he went from looking like he was going to crap himself in week 1, to being a confident and accomplished dancer at the end. I do think kellie was over marked in the VW, tango and showdance- and quite often Jay had been under marked throughout the series. he is so different to anyone we've seen on strictly before, that even judges bias and attempted sabotage couldn't effect how much people loved him and aliona. so we'll done Jay! ♡♡♡
Emma Campbell I remember this season like it was yesterday and it was very biased against jay and toward Kellie and he year following it was biased again but this year I don't know if your still watching it's ridiculous how biased they are and how obvious it is but I loved this dance and Jay skill and will always watch back on these dances when's the current season is as annoying as it is now but well done what you said summed up this show perfectly in terms of bias!!
love what he said about this performance on the red button interview "the first time i've smiled too much"! I did prefer it this time around the smiles and enjoyment make it!
Absolutely brilliant they won they totally deserved it. Ok maybe they weren't the best in the final but have been the most consistent throughout. Jay has scored the most points, has never been in the dance off, and to be honest has done the best dances overall in my opinion, he is also the most technically gifted. He and Aliona (who by the way is also the best pro) also have had the best chemistry of all the couples.
I think this is a great dance. It's interesting to compare this version, danced in the final, with their first attempt. Both were enjoyable, but in this one Jay was so much more dominant and in control of the whole dance. It shows how much he had progressed over the course of the competition.
They definitely deserved to win! Enjoyed all their performances and had hope for passo in final! and thats it even better then couple weeks ago! Congratulations! So well done!!!
I really enjoy this Final Paso. They clearly enjoyed every minute of their last dance. Totally get why they have chosen this song as Jay's final dance. Love the dubble tap on the chest on "my" life ( to SCD observer: imho not a cheeky come hither at all) and his rather personally dedicated pointing to heaven ( instead of the paso arm movement in the earlier version). For Jay this was the perfect end. Masculine, strong, being himself instead of a character from a movie. I totally respect that. ( Don't understand why SCD Band had a different arrangement and singers. I prefer their first version) I liked the earlier Paso (nearly 225.00 views) I love the Final Paso ( exactly because of I more than "forgive" him the "not so paso" little details :-). Hope it will get more views and people will understand it better. The Jive is a moment in time where everything came together ( music, dance, AND custums. Movieweek). It was unexpected, brought the house down, has 1.4 million youtube views ( highest views of a pro/celeb dance ever on SCD) while being geolocked to UK viewing alone. It has nearly 3,9 million views on Facebook not geolocked). Whether the producers like it or not ...you don't redo a dance that had so much people on their feeth and has given so many people amazing memories. I know what I felt when I saw it. Totally gobsmacked half way through the routine (like the judges). You never get that again. It can't be improved on. It spoils memories. That was their explanation end of the semi's to Claudia (cut out on the sunday result show). Jay repeated it in a BBC Radio program the following monday. On ITT it was clear that it would be the Paso (reaction to their Strictly story) but not mentioned. Announced as news a day later on ITT friday before the final. There must have been an amazing amount of pressure on them since the semi-final. I wouldn't like a second version of THAT Jive on RUclips. I am more then glad they did it "their way".
Aliona's last dance on Strictly since she's leaving now! It makes the dance more emotional and also makes more sense cause you see how much they were enjoying it:-(
+nightowl7777 Yes worthy winners, in truth when it got down to those last three I said they all deserved it, too closely matched. Reminded me of the year with Kimberley, Denise and Louis, all deserved it.
Paul McCloud Yes -- any of the remaining 3 were deserving -- perhaps for different reasons -- but all deserving nonetheless!! Aliona took the same approach she did all season with Jay -- and kept routines stripped right back to perfectly executed footwork, etc. -- without the unnecessary distractions of various gimmicks, etc. Clearly it paid off -- and the public saw that. So pleased for them.
+nightowl7777 Jay has been remarkably consistent throughout - his footwork is always clean and precise. And I think he's come quite far on his obligatory Strictly 'journey', though in a less showy fashion than the others!
Estella Hunter Yes -- exactly what I was trying to say -- they never, ever used or needed flashy gimmicks to distract viewers from shoddy footwork or imperfect musicality -- and she stuck with that through to the final. I was admittedly a bit worried when I saw their Showdance -- as it was not "flashy-showy" -- however, it was sheer perfection from a technical standpoint. Happy for them -- justice prevailed in the end!! :)
I think it shows that he wasn’t in it for winning because otherwise he would have chosen to do the jive in the final as the public absolutely loved it. He was genuinely in it for the dancing. Very well deserved winner!
I think you're absolutely right and I think that's exactly _why_ they won (as well as brilliant, obviously). We've had nearly two decades of extremely technically accomplished celebrities dancing extremely well-polished routines but, like, look at these two. Even Aliona isn't making the slightest attempt to stay in Paso character; they're just overjoyed to be dancing together and it's warming to the soul to watch. That's why I still come back to these dances long after I couldn't think of a single routine from other great champions.
I loved this dance the first time they performed it - it was under-marked - as per. I think in the Final they just went for it, I don't think it was about winning for these two in the end - it was about just finishing how they wanted. - PS the singing was ropey 2nd time around. So happy that Jay won - I bet it was by a landslide as he essentially won it in Wk3 and had a huge loyal following - great dancer and lovely person
Beautiful shaping, intensity. One kind of 'forgives' him right in the end when he broke the arrogance (required for this dance) and smiled despite himself, and even did a cheeky come hither to Aliona before the end. It doesn't matter a single bit that Craig didn't score this a ten (why should Craig, when Jay did break the illusion he so wonderfully created in the Paso at the end?). I said earlier I think barring him falling flat on the floor and suffered a total black out or something, he will lift the glitter ball, because since week 3 Jive, Jay's RUclips viewing count every week had been the most popular, whether he nailed or whoopsied his dance. EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK. In the case of this series' final, the scenario ironically was like the final between Harry Judd, Chelsee Healey and Jason Donovan. Harry was a boyband member (like Jay), Chelsee was a small time (soap) actress (like Georgia) and Jason Donovan was a really, really HARD worker and a perfectionist as a performer (like Kellie Bright). In the final then, Chelsee was the most naturally gifted dancer but she under-performed, and her showdance was a let down, and Harry showdance wasn't anything memorable either. Jason's showdance was wow, like Kellie's. I did wish Chelsee to win despite underperforming in the final, alas she didn't because it was clear then that Harry was the most popular by the finals. In this series, Jay under-performed in the finals to be sure (like Chelsee), much of the let down was the showdance, but Jay is to me much like Chelsee in that he danced very organically and naturally. And the only difference is that Jay, like Harry Judd, was the most popular (by a mile, I am quite certain), so fair and square, the final is always about popularity contest, and he won. Of the finalists, I can really say in this series I wouldn't have mind any of them lifting the glitter ball!
Aha, so true! The RUclips viewing figures for Jay's dances have been a dead giveaway that he is by far the most popular. Never had to worry that he'd be in a dance-off!
Fatima Mulla Because Craig said he would offer Georgia in his West End show? I am frankly not computing. He was waxing lyrical on all three finalists at some point, so...
Absolutely fantastic, I've tried this routine multiple times and still haven't nailed it, so complex, how he did it will always be an enigma to me, he had a level of technique that has only been rivalled by HRVY in my mind, crazy!
I do agree with most of what Craig says but to say "you dance brilliantly and I love, love, love watching you" and then never give him a 10 for those dances he did is I am afraid ridiculous and unforgiveable. I wonder who was the last winner not to get a 40? Umm!
+Nina Watkins Kara Tointon never scored top 40, not from Craig, though he praised her rumba to the skies then... Jay is not unique. Alesha also didn't get perfect 40 and she won too... What I think is more a travesty was Chris Hollins getting a ten from Craig for his dreadful Charleston in the finals. He was pants in that dance...
The scoring of Craig did not surprise me in the least, I find him to be an obnoxious man, and full of his own importance. He only wants to denigrate the contestants. To be perfectly honest, I think that he only gives these outrageous scores to make himself look important. Personally I would not PEE on him if he burst into flames!!! To all those who know that expression, I cleaned it up (A little) because I did not want to swear in my comment.
What a story they have made. Jay was a singer, who by his own admission could not dance. Then he gets paired with Aliona who, (in MY opinion) was vastly underrated, and she must be a fantastic teacher, as right from the first week, they produced some wonderful routines. Then, to make this a perfect "Fairy tale" they stride off as winners, and it was fully deserved as by the end Jay was being described as "Impossible to differentiate him from the `pro dancers" well done to both of you. my ONLY regret is that Aliona retired and we never got to see her dance again.
Still find it odd that they didn't reprise the Jive, or failing that their Tango to "When Doves Cry".But again this was an impressive dance, if a little lacking in drama. Scored higher than Anita's Paso at Blackpool, but I know which one I preferred.
+Tony Morris Just to let you know they were not allowed to do the Tango, Charleston or Rumba. Regarding the Jive....why ruin a good thing with millions of viewings, nearly 6 million in total !! Want to see perfection over and over again..... go online :-) Who wants a second version ?? Regarding the Final Paso: This is close to a tradional dance but on a modern track. I love that. Anita's was a performance on tradional music not a dance. Yes.. a lot of drama to cover up the lack of content and ability (good job Gleb). Most certainly entertaining but I know I prefer great dancing over anything else. Glad not everyone thinks the same :-). That would be boring.
Was legit confused why they pick the Paso, which was to me, their middle of the ground come back after the Quickstep, before going onto their better dances (American Smooth, Argentine Tango) - but I was super surprised with how good it was. But next to Georgia I guess I can see why it's not a 40
My goodness me, this young man can dance! Beautiful partnership and classy too. I don't like that over the top stompy woman who gurns a lot with Kevin(?). That may be entertainment but it's not class
+jacaranda2bloom Aliona kept things very stripped back in most (if not all) of their routines this season -- clean footwork & no gimmicks, etc. -- because Jay didn't need the stuff to distract from showing off what he can do technically. I thought like you initially -- now, I think I see why she did what she did -- clearly, it WORKED!!! :)
He's been consistent throughout and always takes the judges critics to heart, he's developed so much as a performer and dancer and that's what strictly's all about. So yes he deserved to win!
+Sophie Wilson Judges said he's been consistent, I'm not a dancing expert but thats what the judges think and that's what I think. Him improving each week is what strictly's about
+Sophie Wilson Agreed. Kellie was a much worthy winner. I don't mean to sound cruel to him as he is a fantastic dancer, but Kellie delivered when Jay didn't, especially in his show dance, as it could of easily been mistaken out of something from week 2. Alas, popularity takes over TV shows again, and me once again thinking that strictly should be judged like The Great British Bake Off.
+Holly Scott Since it inception 13 series ago, Strictly final has always been a popularity contest. It has never changed a single instance. So in that sense, why is Jay NOT a deserving winner since he's the most popular?
I just love Jay and Aliona's smile near the end of this !
THEY WON EVERY ONE !!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH

There will never, ever be a dance on Strictly like Jay McGuinness. That is all.

I still come back to watch this routine. It is stunning, the strength of everything Jay does in this routine is stunning
When you come back to watch the same routine agree with a comment and then realise it was you 5 years ago!
@@alexachristina9374 What a compliment that is to these two fabulous dancers, when you are still so impressed after five years
he was perfect in this dance- his arms and spins were phenomenal. he is a spectacular dancer ♡
So, so pleased! His jive was outstanding but I LOVED this dance too and with the perfect song to dance to in their last dance! I'm delighted Jay & Aliona won. They were brilliant every week. :-)

+Scd Observer I doubt Craig would have given him a 10 regardless. He seemed to be in a sulk over his favorites not having a chance to win.
Frank Harker Just out of curiosity, who was/were Craig's favourite(s)???
+Scd Observer Georgia by far
Fatima Mulla Because Craig said he would offer Georgia in his West End show? I am frankly not computing. He was waxing lyrical on all three finalists at some point, so...
Fab-U-lous in every way #Jaliona Paso - they threw everything into this Paso in the 2015 Final
absolutely in tune together fab u lious darling heaven to watch x
Absolutely fantastic, I've tried this routine multiple times and still haven't nailed it, so complex, how he did it will always be an enigma to me, he had a level of technique that has only been rivalled by HRVY in my mind, crazy!
AMAZING!
deserved to win
jadore
+Scd Observer Thanks for that i didn't know that. Totally agree with you about Chris Hollins how on earth did that happen terrible dance....
Can't believe Aliona has left
Nadie les supera.
I miss Aliona!!
Did they kiss at 1:39?
listen to the rhythm of the Beat heart first.

Well I guess that new head judge as leap year
girl rule
Wonderful! Wish they would have done something so sexy in their show dance!
357 days in leap year get over it.
Yeah I know that dancing around sit around look at tv
enjoy watching the TV.
I love dolphins lol.
Yeah Beyonce good do it this year and too own song.
keep dancing until I old at head judge
cry after
so we are too blame
NO WAY should he have been the winner! Especially after his dogshit show dance....
He's been consistent throughout and always takes the judges critics to heart, he's developed so much as a performer and dancer and that's what strictly's all about. So yes he deserved to win!
+Absternaut consistent? He's been up and down like a yo-yo.
So in that sense, why is Jay NOT a deserving winner since he's the most popular?
hope this cheers you lot moaning people there.
watch TV and pay for it.
so is on the TV to blame.
