In 2018/2019 we cruised Florida and the Bahamas for 6 months straight on one of these (2004 405). Family of 3 with a 75 pound golden retriever. It is a truly fantastic boat. For 4 of those 6 months we didn't touch a dock other than to get fuel and water. It is a fantastic boat to live on. If you have any questions let me know. I've been in/over/under every nook and cranny of it. We had the Volvos.
Friends of ours did "the loop" from Sandusky Bay, Ohio down the Mississippi, to the Bahamas and then back north to home on either a 43' or 47' Cruisers and it was a fabulous boat. Started loop again, was in Florida, wandered in to broker's office just to see what they could get for it and he sold it almost immediately to people in Klemah, Texas. That was a fabulous boat. They now live on a 53' Hatteras in Florida 1/2 the year and back here in Ohio the other 6 months. They loved their Cruisers it wa their 2nd Cruisers, love their Hatteras too. Must have been a 47' as they had 3 staterooms.
@@BoatingJourney If you do the loop, when you come through Lake Erie, we dock on Kelleys Island at Seaway Marina, we have a Carver 32' Convertible named Spider Farm, stop by and say hello. Do join a Loopers Group, our friends belong to one but I can't remember which one. In mid August to no later than mid-September, we get "Loopers" passing through on their way West to head up the Detroit River and beyond.
One small thing about the removeable sink covers/cutting boards: where would you put them when you take them off the sink? It's not a make or break issue for anyone, but it is something to keep in mind for avoiding small annoying clutter when entertaining.
Hi. Thanks for all your videos. If you get a chance can you check out a Carver 57, Carver 56 or Carver 53. Also Meridian 58. These may tick all your boxes and I would love to hear your comments. Best wishes.

Dan, I'm looking for a 405 soon. Please comment on fuel consumption and range at various speeds. Thanks!
