- Hey there today I'm going to show you how I make a lay box for my crested geckos.
We're going to be using these products but you can easily be found on Amazon or at your local reptile show 😉
👉Zoo Med Reptisoil
👉Spagmoss Premium New Zealand Sphagnum Moss
👉 Dollar store SureFresh reusable rectangular container and lids it's a three cup size. We're only going to be using The container part.
Starring in my video today is my up and coming breeder female Phailaana.
There are quite a few ways to sanitize the reptisoil. A quick way is to do like in this video and just microwave it for a minute or two, You can bake it in the oven at 250° for a couple of hours, You can also keep it frozen like I usually do.
You put about an inch or two of the reptile substrate and then follow that by a couple of inches of the sphagum moss.
In this video I microwaved everything after soaking it with lots of water for a minute.
Be careful as to let the lay box cool down for about 15-20 minutes at the least before placing it in your geckos enclosure

Great video
Are these enclosures for your adults? I’ve seen different setups. Heard that the 12x12x18 can be fine for 1 adult and they usually do better on food?
