Just so everyone knows, don't leave persistent variables in the puppet microchip. If the puppet dies in a level, the values will be reset, erasing the player's customization choices. Use variable modifiers set to "Get" instead and put the persistent variables in a microchip separate from the puppet.
Thanks mate you're absolutely correct 😁🤙🏻 even in these long videos I always manage to forget something 🤣 For those wanting additional explanation: My strat is normally to create a lil microchip that exists in the scene with all the permanent logic like variables. That way if your character dies then the variables will not be reset. If your character dies and they respawn the variables will respawn as well, meaning they will be set to their initial values (i.e., the changes will be reset) 🤓 Thanks for your keen eye mate!
Yo mate! Sorry to hear that. Hmm, if it's not showing up it could be that all of your hair styles are in the same group and that when that one group is set to invisible none of them will show up 🤓 try and take all of your hair styles out of the puppet group with L1 and circle and then put them back in again ✌️
Late, but the creation screen is the exact thing I wanted for my 2 games (3 years in development.) I think someone else did a tutorial, but it wasn't like this. Yours is near the beginning, straight-forward and to the point. I was gonna give up and just stack my characters, hair and all on top of each other (This was what another video suggested because there are not a lot for character makers, since Dreams is still a newer game, not even five years old yet), and be clicked on to cycle through, but NOW things can be neatly organized with buttons! My only big regret is that there is no text input option in Dreams for game players, but this might remedy that too if I can rig up something with letters! WOOT! (And after making 130 name suggestions for male characters, oh ye gawds.) I'm still slowly learning logic, and the process of creating a long-form game with customizing is overwhelming as heck, but I know the results will be worth it in the end! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your tutorials are going to become invaluable to an idiot like me, lol. I'm Silversweet85 on Dreams if you want to see the finished products later on.
Mate, thank you so much for leaving such a wonderful comment 😭🙏🏻 I really appreciate it! A lot of these complex things can have us stumped for ages (it took me 2 years to figure out the third person shooter tutorial). The best thing we can do is keep at it and when that doesn't work, hit up the awesome community for help 😂❤️ I'm glad I could help you out with your customiser! And yo! Even me I'm dumb at stuff in dreams (don't even talk to me about the new calculator functions 🤣). All the best to you and your creations mate! I'll check em out and drop a follow! Thanks again for your message. Peace ✌️
oh my goodness!! finally!! i've been wanting this for a while now! thank you!! oh btw i sent you my game Pokemon Masters Adventures: Aldo and the Ancient Egg. please play it and let me know anything i can do to make it better. oh if you beat it (its maybe a hour play or so) i mention you in the special thanks at the end. thanks again for this and all your awesome work! you friggin rock!!
Hi, meanlad I`m new and I`ve got a question: I want to make a glider but I don`t know how to build one with the right logics... I`m new in Dreams, too. Can you make a tutorial for this or help me in a different way ???? ....thank you for your great tutorials. 😃😃Especially this tutorial was awesome.
Hey mate, thanks for your comment! Welcome to the Dreams community 🤩🤩🤩 So, I would recommend you check out my Flight Ability Guide (ruclips.net/video/ajaj8CIayck/видео.html) as I go over how to make your characters fly/glide so it might be useful for your Dreams.
Well done mate :D To check if X = 1 or X = 2 or X = 3 etc., you could wire X into the active port of a selector. When I have a load of stuff that needs to be allowed or disallowed (as with your AND gates) I tend to put all that stuff into a chip and power the chip. For example, I'm on the "hair colour Red" line, so I'll power the "change the hair colour red value" chip with the var-mods in it. And to simplify the wiring from the dpad, you could have those power keyframes which turn on the corresponding var-mods in all those chips--but of course only the var-mods in the chip that is powered in the first place would be allowed to work. So it has the same effect as an AND gate, but it's all very low-wire-count, easy to add to and move stuff around etc. Then you have all of one tab including highlighting keyframes and such in its own big chip, etc. So all nice and organised, and makes the logic simpler (at least to look at). I know most people just use a ton of AND gates as you have done here, but just personally I steer away from that kind of situation. ;P Icons guide! Wupwuup!
Hey can you make a parkour video game whenever I search up there's some people that plays parkour games in dreams and some tutorials are pretty hard but I tried some please make one

Hey do you think you’d be able to make a tutorial on a growing and shrinking character as i want to make a game based on kid cosmic
I've not made anything like that before but I'll see what I can do! Thanks for the question mate.
Well done mate :D
