They gave her all the baby stuff they had got when they were scammed. The received a call telling them they had a new baby for them to sign and sent paperwork back. As a spaniard I'm going to say it , Lola is short for Dolores which means pain! It's a very common name for women of a certain generation in our country so is Augusta which is Anguish. I know some small children called Lola, I agree the nickname on its own it cute but parents should know where it comes from and also there is more political history as to why names like pain and Anguish rose in popularity and it was during the Spanish dictatorship. I love love Violet!

It’s funny. I have family in Panama and family in the US. In the US we don’t have members with the same name, but in Panama we have to differentiate by middle names or hyphenated names because names are repeated so often and it isn’t such a big deal for a name to run in the family and be repeated. There is no “call” on a name being used by another member.

We had the opposite problem when picking out names! We had 4 solid boys names and one girl name. We had a girl and haven’t been able to have another child. However, we did say we loved Willow after we had our daughter as a possible second girl name! So when we couldn’t have another baby and decided we were done trying, we got a cat and named her Willow!

When I was little I knew with conviction that I wanted to name my future daughter Emma… then my dad and stepmother named my sister Emma and that plan was no longer an option. I’m actually really happy that plan changed because I fell in love with these two in like 2015. Their middle names are family names: Emerson René (René is mine and my mother’s middle name) and Amelia Cedulie (Cedulie was my great-grandmother’s first name). There are ample nicknames to choose from for these two names. I love Aimee from Amelia and Emmy, Em, and Emery from Emerson! I really love the idea of incorporating family names! This is crazy. I adopted a puppy 2 months ago that was sick. She passed away a week after getting her. I was stuck between Willow and Lola. We named her Willow. The next day the vet called and ask me to foster another sick puppy that we ended up adopting. His name is 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁.... Sunny. I had to comment. Like if you want to try to avoid them from being bullied then that's okay but kids will make fun of literally anything if that's their goal. I totally agree with you on having a name that is fitting for all stages of life.Yes, there are cute names to give to babies but when they enter adulthood will they want to be called by that? I say this because it happened to me. My adoptive parents (and believe me, it feels so strange to actually say that as they are and always will be my parents) gave me a...unique name as a way for me to remember the life I would have had had I not been adopted. I hated it and everything it symbolized. I still do. To me my adoptive parents are my parents, I don't need a reminder of the being abandoned as a premature newborn at the hospital for the rest of my life. My parents always called me by a nickname, like they always called me by my nickname, they never called me by the name that was on my birth certificate. A nickname I felt like I was outgrowing by the time I got to high school and so I begged my parents to legally change my name. My parents asked me to pick a name that I loved, and I chose a name that begins with the same letter as my Mom (we've always been really close) and for Christmas one year, they made it legal. My closest of family and friends will still call me by this nickname, but everyone else knows me by my name, the name I choose for myself and will fit for all stages of life. Thank you for taking your baby's name seriously.

I totally agree with you on having a name that is fitting for all stages of life.Yes, there are cute names to give to babies but when they enter adulthood will they want to be called by that?
I say this because it happened to me.
My adoptive parents (and believe me, it feels so strange to actually say that as they are and always will be my parents) gave me a...unique name as a way for me to remember the life I would have had had I not been adopted. I hated it and everything it symbolized. I still do. To me my adoptive parents are my parents, I don't need a reminder of the being abandoned as a premature newborn at the hospital for the rest of my life. My parents always called me by a nickname, like they always called me by my nickname, they never called me by the name that was on my birth certificate. A nickname I felt like I was outgrowing by the time I got to high school and so I begged my parents to legally change my name. My parents asked me to pick a name that I loved, and I chose a name that begins with the same letter as my Mom (we've always been really close) and for Christmas one year, they made it legal. My closest of family and friends will still call me by this nickname, but everyone else knows me by my name, the name I choose for myself and will fit for all stages of life.
