When I was growing up, we had a bluetick beagle, and my mother would feed him trees from her mouth. Now this was edible food for her but also some thing he enjoyed. And so he got used to the idea of eating with people. We had guests over for dinner and the guy put a piece of steak in his mouth, but left a portion hanging out and the dog jumped up on his lap and snapped it out of his mouth. He really enjoyed that steak. I don’t recall ever seeing that couple at our home again!
The Pittbull that lives with me has eaten at least 4 chickens over the years. Which is what you get when you leave warm meat to close to the edge of the counter.
