Losing Riverside and Ontario was an absolute sin but, Southern California real estate was just too darn valuable. So Sad!

Loved the Gurney Pepsi Challenger as a kid! Such a cool looking car!

The "Roger" the announcer was referring to was two-time Indy 500 winner Roger Ward. His voice is recognizable.

This brings back memories 👍. Lots of run off room .

These 3+ hour races CART used to run on road courses are in sane.

Holy crap, that venturi tunnel extension at the back of Brabham's car is bonkers. At least I think its that? The car looks like a weird hybrid of a 82 and 83 F1 car kinda glued together. Love seeing stuff like this, thanks for the upload!

That tech was called BLAT - Boundary Layer Adhesion Technology - which was essentially the predecessor to the Delta Wing car. Extreme low drag with focus on an early version of what is called a rear de-fuser today.

@@jimbosc Fantastic. I love learning stuff like that and seeing the embryonic parts of future tech. Thanks for the info 👍

What also makes Brabham's car unique is with the naturally aspirated Chevy engine, while most other entrants were using turbo-Cosworth engines.

@@bloqk16 So cool to hear a conventional V8's exhaust note coming from an open-wheel car.

I'am not a fan of crashes but I would like to see both of them from this race.
