Was there with all of the Air Cal employees at the big white tent on left side of track before turn 6. Great to see this all these years later as it brought back lots of good memories working for such a fun company , plus Riverside Raceway....... what a track, both gone now but not forgotten .
Riverside is a beautiful race-track. What I love about it is that its a relatively simple layout on paper, but driving it was a good challenge because of tricky cambers, blind corners and low grip
@13:18 a nice view of the 1974 Eagle powered by a stock block Chevy driven by Dick Ferguson. @ 20:27 he lines up for the start aside the AJ Watson built chassis driven by Dick Simon. Nice constructor diversity in this race which also included the Wildcat, Longhorn and three versions of Penske chassis (PC7, PC9 & PC10). The next year most of the field would be factory built March chassis. Thanks for this great UL!
As they mentioned, the next year (1983) CART did add more road races. The last race of '83 was their first year at Laguna Seca and the beginning of 18 years of working on the pit lane for CART, one of the most enjoyable and exciting times of my racing life. Unfortunately a time cut short by politics, but I'm thankful for the friends that came into my life during that time
hey never seen this race before great job uploading it here. Would like to PM you but can't find the messaging link.... Do you ever trade DVDs I would love to get a copy of this, I have a pretty good Indycar collection so hopefully have something that might interest you.

This is absolutely terrific. It's like watching the current series with the pre race show

Amazing, Al Unser Jr. first CART race. Also just weeks after his sisters death. Thinking of his mom.
I'm laughing my head off at 55:42, giving him props and that happens!
