Found using the right wax for water temperature a big factor.
Ive always just been using cold water wax and although sticky as hell as soon as warms up only lasts about 10 minutes before rubbing off.
Yesterday tried warm water wax ,although water not quite at the temperature guide on wax it was epic.
Harder wax, thin application and its perfect.

Im a generally prone rider. Been bodyboarding since 85, I like more chest stomach wax. It's a personal thing. Everybody waxes differently but I enjoy more wax on my board.

To each their own. Too much chest/stomach wax prevents you from quickly repositioning forward/backward, left/right for most riders.

Only been bodyboarding since June, used to wax the hell out of my boards.
Today on a fully cleaned deck took your advise on how to wax.
now I can see what your saying about moving about the board.
    Felt more in control

Wax is best for dropknee so you don't fall off dropping into waves. For prone I just rub wax on the rails...

I have been bodyboarding for 55+ years, I wax all of the top, sides, and body of the board. If you don’t wax the chest, and belly, when wearing a wetsuit your board will slip out from under you. Do what works for you.

Thanks for the feedback Tom. For me and most ex-pros, overwaxing the chest/belly area prevents you from sliding forward, backward, left and right easily, so just a light coat works best for me, but as you said, do what works for you.

I've never done this in 44 years of bodyboarding. I know some people do, but I've never felt the need to.

Our eBodyboarding Boogie Bar. I mention it right in the video and link it above and in the video. Not sure what you mean about Ian shutting you down?

@@eBodyboardingcom Boogie Bar for cooler water, ok. The surf this weekend 8'-10' washing machine. Maybe in my younger days but now with this spine disease, it would just be foolish. Hopefully this weekend. Thanks

I even want a body board because I love this hobby, but I come from a poor family, so I can't buy it 😔
