The wonderful A-10s at SJU well well well I miss seeing this aircraft around this area why I'll let you know. The A-10 came to SJU to visit the San Isidro Air Base in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to do an aerial and static demo at the Dominican Air Force Air Show.

Two flew by my house in mayaguez! Crazy how loud they were.
a mi hermano y a su unidad en Afganistan esos A-10 eran como ángeles en el cielo. con solo el cañon basta ese Prrrrrrr. en el aire. ellos sentian ese alivio.

Just had a flyover in the Hormigueros area. Nothing sounds like a A-10.
They are in Aguadilla today with a C130
They flew over my house in Bayamon at least twice today. I ran to the window as I knew that was not a commercial plane. Its silhouette is unmistakable. As a teenager, i bought a model, one you put plastic pieces together.. They say it is an ugly plane, but oh boy, for me it was so pretty. It still is so for me. I went to google to try and find out why such planes were flying around Pr and came across this page. Hi guys! Too bad I did not have my camera with a 70-300 lens on handy.

Estaba en Yauco este fin de semana y Vi uno pero no c si era estos
I thought maybe they were our A-10's (Fort Wayne, IN Tail Code FW) during a deployment and then found out they were going to get rid of ours and go back to the F-16's. That bites, I live under a MOA and enjoy them (always in pairs) screaming over the house at low altitude, chasing each other. We may get the new KC-46's at Grissom ARB but Tankers are not as cool!
I guess these where the two that went to the 75 aniversary celebration of the Dominican Air force.

Avión técnicamente obsoleto ( ya cumplió 50 años de servicio) y con nombre poco elegante ( warthog o jabalí en español) pero muy elegante para los amantes de la aviación militar y todavía muy letal en buenas manos. Se ha probado en varios conflictos militares con eficacia y durabilidad. Entiendo q todavía quedan mas de 350 en servicio aun cuando lo han tratado de retirar pero “ no se deja”. Y siempre es un “show stopper “ a dónde se presenta. Gracias por el tremendo vídeo, Hector.
Entiendo que es servicio de ellos extendido hasta fines del 2030
El caso del Thunderbolt II, su verdadero nombre ya que Warthog es un sobrenombre puesto por sus pilotos, es similar al B-52 y el U-2, aeronaves que aun estan en servicio despues de 60 años y aun siguen siendo pilares en su rol. Personalmente no creo que algun avion actual pueda hacer el trabajo antitanque y de apoyo a tropas como el A-10, hasta que se haga otro con las mismas caracteristicas pero mejoradas.
Correcto el A-10 va a permanecer en uso por que incluso despues de muchas subastas para un reemplazo nunca cumplieron a cabalidad con todas las funciones.
En otras palabras no han superado el diseño.
Lo mismo paso con el Strato fortress que despues de años en desuso y tirados en un cementerio de aviones los estan restaurando para ponerlos en servicio.
Había leído que los modernizaron lo que impedida que los sacaran..
Son uno Aviones que soportan castigo del enemigo y su eficacia a salvado muchos hermanos Veteranos en contacto con el enemigo.

I saw two of these fly over Ft Buchanan yesterday and today, was wondering what they were! I am used to our jets at Eglin, Hurlburt and Tyndall so these were a first for me.
They are in a combined training with Dominica Republic, Jamaica, amongs others.

Had just returned from the city of ponce to my home in the country (4:45p.m) when the sound of a very loud chainsaw coming from the sky caught my attention. To my amazement it turned out to be a Warthog flying at less then normal altitude. As if it was following something . It just cleared the next mountain it was so low. Why was it here of all places ?

the pr air ng lost their f16 and combat mission due to lack of maintenance among other lacks of discipline in regards to fighter plane proper maintenance and also didn't pass the USAF inspection. no wonder an accident not long ago took 9 lives of pr air ng members in a c-130 in 2018.
