Not only that but he had the biggest impact on the defensive end at the game AND the offensive end. He willed himself to win that game as he did countless times throughout his career.
Most underrated part of this sequence is that Russell actually swatted the ball in the layup drive but Jordan still finished the play. You can see at 3:00. It's one of those big athletic advantages Jordan had that goes under the radar for a lot of casual fans.

After some years I discovered that the TV channel that broadcasted the NBA in my country didn't actually show the LIVE game but in fact was a recorded program, the game apparently have finished 2 hour earlier, still great moment even though I was out of sync.
I can still clearly remember when I watched this game on June 1998 at home. The moment MJ shot his iconic last shot for the Bulls and the moment the final buzzer rang and the Bulls got their second three-peat, I didn't celebrate in jubilation just like I know the rest of the Bulls fandom did.
