    Wonderful performance. Sara means captures some of the spirit of Suzanne Farrell, and this is what I think that spirit is, the meaning of the pas de deux if you will: The woman is the unattainable muse (as Farrell was.) She spends much of the ballet running away from her partner. She almost never looks him in the eyes--the choreography guarantees that. At the end he is at her feet and kisses her hand. She looks down at him enigmatically. This is not a two-way relationship. I adore this pas de deux because of its emotional complexity.

    Assoluta danced from La MEARNS, erasing the past and recreating it. I wish it had been filmed inside the theater and not from across the plaza.
