The drummer is Jimmy's son Jackie. You don't see them but his daughters are singing backup. His oldest daughter Mahalia was one of Joe's backup singers. Check out Mahalia and Joe singing Riding With The Kings, and Jimmy with his oldest son David Campbell Carol's by Candlelight You'll Never Walk Alone. Soothe Me with Sam ( Sam and Dave). Sam was 86 when they did the duet.

Barnsey has been my schoolgirl crush❤ for 50 years and will be till the day I'm 6 feet under lol. The whole Barnes family are so talented, from both Jimmy and his wife Jane, to their kids and now, the grandkids are starting to perform.
They are the most down to earth family you could ever meet.

You have just made a LOT of Australians and New Zealanders very happy. 😁Jimmy has a 50-year back catalogue, both solo and with Cold Chisel, and he's been brilliant throughout. One favourite is him singing Simply the Best with Tina Turner in 1991 because they are the male and female versions of each other in terms of their voices. But there is so much good stuff to listen to!!! Wild Thing live with Cold Chisel at the Last Stand concerts in the early 1980s (make sure you get the version with the remastered sound) is also mind blowing...

Barnsey is one of the best soul singers alive. You need to check out his earlier stuff, from the 70s through 90s! The notes he hit back then are mind blowing. PS this was filmed in Nashville Tennessee, what better place to do it!

@setonhillstudios He's right. That song is pure perfection. Michael Rhoades on Bass, Anton Figg on the Drums, Brad Whitford(Aerosmith) on Rythym Guitar, Arlene Schierbaum on Keyboards,. Flat out top tier professionals. I dare say, this version is even better that the original.

Jimmy's been smart as his voice ages with the choice of material, the early Cold Chisel albums are the best for me though it's classic material.

Jimmy Barnes is an absolute legend! Your seeing the older jimmy barnes here,after a very successful career here in Australia,where he was much loved by all for his music,through the band he was with,called,-“Cold Chisel”.
If you like his voice you’ll love,-“Bow River”,which is an absolute banger of a song played live.Plus cold chisel has some other amazing songs,& the band itself is amazing,with such talent. They do a version of “wild thing” live, which would blow your socks off.
Honestly if you start reacting to him (& John Farnham-another aussie legend) you’ll likely have Australians flocking in droves to your channel.
He is very loved and we are very proud of him.

Some of Jimmy's newer stuff. 2 years ago just after his 66th birthday he released the song Soothe Me with Sam Moore (from the American group Sam And Dave. Sam is 86 and his voice is incredible. Jimmy Barnes has several children all sing as well. His daughter Mahlia Barnes sings backup for Joe Bonamassa. Mahalia is a recording artist herself as well. Mahalia and Joe Bonamassa has a couple songs you would love. Riding with the king and the other one is Nasty Girl. Both are great!

Thank you! I found Jimmy Barnes while searching for Tina Turner videos. They do a duet together of "(Simply) The Best" that will not disappoint! Jimmy had emergency open heart surgery in December. He was supposed to be back on stage March 31st. I haven't heard if he made it or not. There is an interesting episode of "60 Minutes Australia" that talks about all of this.

Ps he has written 3 autobiographies which are a great read called Working Class Boy, Working Class Man and Killing Time. They are well worth the read....I needed tissues for every book.

When Celine Dion came to Australia, she organised to sing with him.
After singing with Queen, Brian May was in Ozz about 4 years ago and joined the 70 yo John Farnham to perform in about 3 or more charity performances.
Jimmy's rabbit hole goes back to about 1977 or earlier and he is still performing.
John had his first No 1 in 1967 and his last about 2016......was still performing beautifully until mouth / throat cancer sent him to hospital.
They removed part of his jaw, but is apparently okay now and singing around his home and familly.
Check him out when he was a young wild man coving "wild thing" with the band "Cold Chisel" - live of course - drunk enough to kill a county vut still absolutely on point from start to finish

Man are you about to be taken on the ride of your life! Jimmy looked at America but refused to conform to record execs. Came back home and wrote “you got nothing I want” and he has been all ours ever since. My advice is to watch Jimmy live with the exception of Khe Sahn (do some research first to appreciate this masterpiece) and flame trees (though the video is now old, it tells the story). Enjoy🤪

John Farnham was awesome, we’ve got a reaction up on the channel of him! That’s how we found out about Jimmy Barnes!
There are some standout vocalists, & Jimmy Barnes reminds me of a chainsaw ... if it could sing really, really, really well. Another is C.F. Turner of BTO (try Roll On Down The Highway) He reminds me of a gravel truck on a log road.

His band Cold Chisel formed in '73(probably our biggest band through 70's & early 80's), then Barnsey went solo in '84 & has remained a chart topper till this day. He's put out at least 20 albums & 15 of those were number1.

But you'll be going down a rabbit hole now, so many great songs with Chisel and standalone. Another good one is with John Farnham - When Something is Wrong With my Baby. 👍
