As a kid we would visit my grandparents in Seminole Florida, they grew oranges. My grandparents insisted we drive across Florida to watch the launch of the Apollo flight that was to be landing on the moon. I had just turned 8 that summer, I remember that day so clearly because my grandma cried when that rocket took off. I asked her on the drive home why did she cry? She told me that it was so unbelievable and amazing to see a rocket that would go to the moon. She told me that when she grew up and at 16 when she finally got to this country; there was no electricity, no indoor plumbing, no phones or electric appliances. She lived through all those inventions. She loved them all. So every time I see a video of rocket launches I think of her and how far humans have come. Love you're videos
LOL - its not a bay, it’s a river. We’ve lived here for over 31 years and it never gets old. My wife has worked on the space program since 1988 as a Space Systems Test Engineer. Her last day at the Space Center will be April 23, 2021 and then it will be time to hit the road. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Brevard County. We watch every launch from out backyard.
We loved Kennedy Space Center. Our son in-law is from Germany, so when his family came for our daughters wedding in Disney World we wanted to take them to see something truly American! They were very impressed. Thanks for all the great videos! Enjoy the journey!!
This video brought a huge smile to my face. My wife and I were snowbirds last winter just up the road from Titusville and were fortunate to see 9 rocket launches. Six were SpaceX launches of Satellites, Two were Atlas 5 rockets sending supplies to the ISS and one was the intentional abort mission where we watched the capsule jettison away just before the rocket blew up. To watch a $50,000,000 rocket blow up in front of our eyes was the most impressive thing I've ever seen. We loved KSC and the entire area. We would've been there again this year if not for the pandemic. Thanks for making me smile!
My wife and I were in Titusville for the 1st launch of the Falco Heavy in 2018, it was incredible to watch the 2 boosters come back and land, incredible!!!
Great video of the launches! We were at Kennedy Space Center in 1986 and we only paid $8.00 each for the bus tour. I know long time ago but I'm so glad I started keeping a travel journal from the beginning of our marriage. So much fun to look back at prices and places we've been. We're still RVing and have a wonderful time. Safe travels!
WOW, things have really changed on the space campus. We use to live down there, and would watch the launches from our livingroom windows..............Our whole home would shake with the landing of the shuttles.
About RV Gensets; Cummins Onan also said that running the generator keeps surface contamination's off of the generators armatures. Really important in high humidity areas.
Interesting/good to know... knowing humidity of course fluctuates a lot, did Cummins-Onan mention how often and for how long their gens should be run to keep armature contamination from becoming an issue(?)
Love the closing sequence with Chad's video of you pulling down the road. You had some great sunrise and sunset sequences that are one of my reasons for wanting to be in the RV. Geting up at zero-dark-30? I guess I'd have to be there and will decide then. Fair winds and following seas. I'll see you on the road.
Just added the Launch Console app. Cannot wait to use it. We’ve cancelled our plans to go to FL next month but hoping to go when the weathers cooler. Love your stuff. Thank you so very much! I can’t even eat while your videos are playing bc I don’t want to miss one second! 💯
What a great episode! Absolutely loved it💕💕! We live in Orlando and go to the coast kayaking often and love it when we catch the bioluminescence and/or a rocket 🚀 launch. Keep up the awesome work! We love watching and planning for our full time RV future. XOXO.
Awesome video. I went to college in Daytona @ ERAU and watched several launches from the beach there. Was a great experience until the last one I watched. I'll always remember where I was when the shuttle Challenger exploded just after lift off. Never will forget that. Telling my age but remember it like it was yesterday.
Thanks for sharing... the last trip I made with my late wife Nena was to the Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach. Brings back great memories:-) #GoNavy
Well, we've added another one to our bucket list! Thanks for sharing. We had reservations at Vandenberg AFB for a Falcon 9 launch, but we had to scrub due to other commitments.
We are not veterans, however we live close to the Houston Space Center and take all our visitors there! We love it, and although we aren’t vets, my dad worked for a company the rolled rare metals including tungsten and titanium which were used on a couple different spacecraft including space shuttles and lunar modular. Even though I don’t specific flights it is emotional every time.
That's my home!! Well, it was, before I joined the Army for a whe 20 years!! Glad you guys were able to enjoy the Space Coast!! I hope you guys did some red fishing! That is a great area for it!!
I was fortunate enough to live outside of Vandenberg AFB back in the early 60s and watched many missile launches. They are cool. I am retired AF, so I will be adding this to my bucket list. Thanks. Love your channel and all that you do for veterans.
We’ve been at KARS two times now and got water front both times. Love the park and can’t beat the view. I worked as government quality control at United Launch Alliance, that build the rockets they launch at the Cape. Also we are retired USAF. Missed seeing you guys at Torry Island. We were there January and February. Take care and be safe.
I purchased your emergency magnet, had to go back for two more to give one to my daughter and one for a dear friend. I need a fourth for another friend. Thank you for creating this RV essential. Safe travels!
thank you for the trip down memory lane. as I went to Jacksonville to spend a week with a buddy and went to NASA space center and the Daytona 500 in 2017.............. thanks
Heading west + boondocking? I think you're heading to either a SWIFTMUD or Ocala National Forest site. I love watching rocket launches. Many years ago I attended a teacher's workshop at the Challenger Center at KSC. We toured the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo launch sites, went into the Apollo blockhouse control room, chatted with an engineer who worked on the Apollo missions, and walked right up the shuttle as she sat on the launch pad. The engineer told us that everything from the Challenger was buried in a Minuteman Missile silo nearby.
Thank you sharing the launch of Space X . Did you watch for the landing of the engines that is amazing to see. I've not seen it in person but have on either RUclips or TV. OH thanks for that beautiful sunrise video at the beginning thats so awesome. Phil , if you don't mind on one of your mx checks , show how you get to your generator. I forgot how your RV opens up to get to it. On my 2003 Discovery you can only get to some of the features from the top and from the bottom. To change my belts or hoses the generator has to be dropped out of the bottom of the coach. Cummings and Onan charge 8 hours of labor to do that. 4 hours each way. It doesn't take that long. I had to have a low pressure sensor replaced about a 30 minute job but they have to drop it. So I had everything that I could replace while they were there. Thanks again for the video. Ciao
1st. It called an infinity pool, 2nd Why do you run your Gen for 2 hours, I only run ours for 30 min? 3rd Living a few blocks from the ocean, the salt in the air does a number on the Gen copper windings and the monthly load run keeps them producing power properly. On our last rig they failed because of lack of PM. 4th Don’t go to Tampa, come up to Mayport and stay at the Famcamp on Navy Base. It’s on the water by the inlet and awesome.
Automatic transfer switches prioritize shore power over generator not the other way around. That means you have to disconnect shore power in order for the load to be on the generator. I haven't heard of anyone's transfer switch failing but dozens of BIRD (Bi-directional Isolation Relay Disconnect) failures.
Back when I was one of Uncle Sam's nephews, I was TDY to Patrick AFB, September 1988. I got to witness the STS-26 Discovery launch. It was the first launch after the Challenger accident. The only thing I can compare it to is it felt like an earthquake.
Great video! The last rocket launch we saw was in Southern California launched from Vandenberg AFB and it practically shut down the I-10 freeway in the Palm Springs area. Pretty amazing sight! We look forward to your latest videos and enjoy your tips and information. Thanks! We are about 3 months out from full time life.
When the first space x launch was made, my hubby and I and our boys drove all night from Tennessee and made it to the bridge 7miles from the launch with about 45mins to spare. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It was so amazing and totally worth it!
In 2004, Allison (my wife), Gaby (our daughter) and I spent a day at KSC that today is still one of our favorite experiences we’ve ever had. For us KSC is right up there as an incredible experience we really want to re-live.
There is nothing like a Saturn V after dark. It looked like the sun coming up. Could be seen from Orlando. Also saw a shuttle launch when I was down there, years ago, from across the bay, but nothing like the Saturn.
One of my dreams is to RV across this lovely country. One of the stops must be Kennedy and to watch a launch. I have a 15 yo kiddo who would love this!
I just happened to be in the area for that launch. It was my first time seeing a launch and even better a night launch. It was amazing; great experience. Love Kennedy Space Center; can't wait for it to open completely to go back with the little ones. Love your videos. Stay safe.
Great Video! Got a chance to see 1 of the moon launches in the 60's and what a sight! Thanks for a memory. Planned on visiting KARS this year but with all the "problems" didn't make it. Now it is on the list for next fall. Thanks for a great video and God Bless
The launch was really cool. Went there several years ago, probably 25 years ago. Would really like to go back and camp this time. Maybe get to see a launch.
We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground at the end of November 2020, just missed a launch by 1 day. The campground has a dock that you can look out to see the launch tower. Will be going back to see a launch soon.
Rocket launches are really cool - if not on your bucket list, it should be. When Dave was in Navy at Orlando for nuke power school I took a day trip to Cape Canaveral to see the Voyager 2 launch!
My wife and I went through Cape Canaveral in 2010. I see they built some new stuff. Might have to do it again next time I go down again. Hopefully my daughter will be with me.
Hi guys, thank you for sharing your adventures together. The tips like following a checklist, scouting ahead and details re: pricing of tours 👍👍 it is nice to learn something new. The rocket launching is something everyone should experience in person at least once bit your vantage point was exciting! All much appreciated 😎
Great video. I am lucky enough to have my sticks and bricks less then 30 miles away from the launch pads for the past 30 years. Watched many a launch from my boat or my front yard. Night kayaking !!!!!! Why has that never crossed my mind !!!! Cant wait to try. Might be better than my night hike to delicate arch.
Nice to see the Canada🇨🇦 arm on display.
LOVE the sunrise intro! I've watched it 4 times so far
Glad you enjoy it!
Great video of the launches! We were at Kennedy Space Center in 1986 and we only paid $8.00 each for the bus tour. Freaking awesome rocket launch! We went to the Kennedy Space Centre in 2019 and it was incredible. Teary eyed for sure when we went to see Atlantis
Yay! You got to see a launch. Great video. Lynn and Danny
WOW, things have really changed on the space campus. We use to live down there, and would watch the launches from our livingroom windows..............Our whole home would shake with the landing of the shuttles.
Nice video on many levels. Did our first flat tow and visited Kennedy Space Center this past Tuesday. The engineering involved was just amazing.
WoW! How cool is that! Loved the entire video bus especially the Rocket launch!
Thanks so much!
When I was stationed in Orlando, I could see the launches from my back porch. It was impressive then, too. Thanks for sharing.
Very, Very nice opening in this video. Way to go.
That was neat, thank you guys. I don't travel anymore loved watching the video.
So cool the rocket launch and the night kayaking! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching

@@__WJK__ They said that the armature will also be cleaned simultaneously during the run cycle. No mention of a special time.
Totally cool, thanks for the launches
As a Commercial pilot, I always still used a check list and do same when RV'n. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for watching!

Never been there but will have to add it to the bucket list. Thanks for the tour....
We will add that to the list!
Love this video. Great to know about that campground. I forgot about military campground’s.
Very cool video. I am not a military person, but watching you guys has given me a glimpse of the military life.
Just added the Launch Console app. Cannot wait to use it. We’ve cancelled our plans to go to FL next month but hoping to go when the weathers cooler. Love your stuff. Thank you so very much! I can’t even eat while your videos are playing bc I don’t want to miss one second! 💯
Night time kayak so coooool.

We were in Beverly Beach area during this launch. It kept getting delayed and unfortunately missed it but glad you were able to see it!
Phil maintaining OPSEC. Great video.
Loved the video. adding it to our places to stay.

No problem 👍

I think we all remember that day. I was watching it on tv in school. I will never forget it.
Read Packing for Mars by Mary Roach. It’s a great read and will re-enforce some of the space logistics you learned about at the museum.
Great video. Museum was great and the launch. See ya next week.
Thanks!
Love love your channel, love watching them!! You have great information to share with us all. Maybe are paths will cross sometime!! 😊😊😊
We didn't know where you were headed but saw you!!!! Waved kisses to you from the Subaru. No RV for us, but maybe Someday!! Love you 2!!
