Actually, Cadence was a pegasus pony originally. She became an Alicorn later on, just like Twilight was an unicorn and became one later on.
she ment the devs, that they were going to have her introduced as another Unicorn, then saw the chance to make more $$ if she were an Alicorn.
Then the idea of her being a not true-born one, so the door was open to make Twilicorn and even more $$ for it.
But to have her as a Unicorn too like Twilight from that time 'before' would have been boring and almost a racist suggestion that only Unicorns can ascend. Being a Pegy opens more doors also to 'strange magic'.

I'm still struggling to understand your peoblem with Twiight becoming an Alicorn.
Twilight has been doing pretty much everything since episode 1; she saved the world multiple times, she learned about magic and friendship just like Celestia told her to do, she overcame many of her personal problems etc, so logicly she should get some sort of reward. Being elevated to Monarch status is a pretty big reward, wouldn't you say? So it's not like it came out of absolutly nowhere. And we've seen that her new status doesn't put her above any of her friends in the show (although she is the *main* charecter), she never showed any signs of being a "Mary Sue" and, in fact, while her charecter obviously went through some change, it's nothing too major and it doesn't affect the slice of life aspects of the show. So I must ask again: What is the problem here?

It's because people believe alicorns to be immortal (sometimes god-like creatures). Which can be back up by Celestia & Luna, having been around for centuries, and having the power that they do. However to have alicorns that don't fit-in to this it, well it breaks this belief for someone. Though personally I don't see the issue. You can still have Celestia & Luna as immortal. This would just mean there are two different kinds of alicorns. Ones who are born and those who are created. But I can also understand how not everyone can be as accepting of that. *shrugs* and it's not like just anypony can become one. It took having a lot of power, and a lot of work for Cadance & Twilight to get where they are now.

This is your best video yet, can't quite put my finger on why, but something about it just spoke to me.
I think KP, that you are wrong. Twilight became an alicorn because of her narratively grand destiny and role. Cadance did nothing whatsoever as to her transformation, and that advice and story she gave n Twi's was just helpful and convenient advice. Also, artificial alicorns just have a bit more power and a somewhat longer lifespan, so its nothing too significant. Horsehoe man was still hilarious and funny, but it was a cute video nonetheless!!!

Arcan Folklore I think the issue is that we don't see how she turn into a alicorn which is only said in the book and unfortioinly they are shit. Still waiting for the day they animate that part so people could see she has a purpose they tend to overlook.
AnimeWolfgamer But they take away the Mysterious Semi-Divine nature of the Royal Pony Sisters. (Which are infinitely more interesting characters than Princess Merchandising/Beverly Hills and Captain "Dude" Tin Armor.) Now I don't mind that Twilight turned into an Allicorn. (Or attempted, but ultimately failed Demi-God.) If Twilight had finished the Spell and then searched the Mystery of "Why even create such a thing?" then it would have driven Twilight more as a Scientist. Leading to a Journey into the vast and possibly incredible world surrounding Equestria.
What I don't get is the implication that Celestia planned this. That is too much power for anypony to manage Celestia, she is too young. It could have potentially killed her! Now I love the Sun Goddess, Mother of All Things, Beacon of All That Is Good that she is meant to be. So why entrust her with such a thing in the middle of Ponyville and put other ponies lives at risk! Twilight turned a Bird into a Frankesteinian horror............... I'm done.

I don't know if I made this point before KP but there's a difference between maturing and aging. Those two things before occur during the lifespan of an individual creature, but they are actually two distinct biological things. Maturity is caused by hormones released at adolescence and continues until the animal reaches the "adult" state. Aging occurs over the course of one's life, even during childhood, and is marked by the degeneration of cell division as organs breakdown due to vital chunks of DNA being lost to mistakes in the cell division process. There is no reason the evidence of the former doesn't mean that alicorns are also vulnerable to the latter.
Alicorn magic is distinctly mentioned to be distinct from JUST a combination of the three tribes magic. If Celestia and Luna were magically different from Twilight and Cadance's the transfer in Twilight's Kingdom wouldn't have worked. Thus regardless of how Luna and Celestia were born their abilities are the same as the "artificial" alicorns.
It even looks like there's an alicorn life cycle if you contrast the character designs of the four. Twilight is an immature alicorn with a relatively normal body build and less curly wings. Cadance is lets say a "teenage" alicorn with the standard alicorn body but a normal mane. Luna and Celestia are true "adult" alicorns which have mastered their magic and thus have glowy manes Twilight gains this same kind of mane immediately after the magic transfer indicating that it might be a product of raw magic as well). Look at Cadance in the flashback, she looks like she has a similar build to Twilicorn.

It's probably because I take everything in stride, but having 4 alicorns doesn't bother me. I don't get why it bothers anyone, really. Yeah its toy sales, but isn't the whole show's premise about that anyway? I mean it's hasbro, they sell transformers, gi-joe, and pony toys. It's a corporation.
Its been a concept that really is out in open but yet any mention of that will make some of these dumbasses to think its a evil thing. It really is starting to piss me off as they never focus on how the good team of writers handle it but yet they focus on how "toy ploy' it is.

It depends on a view point they have. Habro has been far to reach that point and even with their choices, they have a good team of writers to make it good. Something that everybody should really focus instead of the company.

Actually the first season had little to no "toy ploys." In fact, that is what caused Lauren Faust to leave the show, because she saw how Hasbro was killing her vision. And that is why season 1 is the best season, before Hasbro butched the show.

I have seen many claim that The Journal of the Two Sisters confirms that Celestia and Luna were born Alicorns, so much so that I finally bought it and read it.
The only facts regarding this topic in the book are:
-Alicorns are a race of ponies (this is self-evident)
-Alicorns age slower than other ponies (but no details on exactly how their aging works)
-Celestia and Luna were Alicorns before they got their Cutie Marks
-Due to slower aging Alicorns can end up getting their Cutie Marks at a later age than other pony races
-Celestia and Luna were raised by Alicorns
-Alicorns are an amalgamation of Unicorns, Earth Ponies, and Pegasi
-Alicorns have far more magic than Unicorns
Nowhere in this book does it state that Celestia and Luna were born Alicorns, or for that matter that any Alicorn society existed. Certainly you can interpret the facts in such a way to back up that assumption, but it could just as easily be interpreted the other way; that they were shepherded into their ascension to alicorns by other alicorns just as Celestia did for Twilight and they happened to ascend at a very young age.
There are tweets from Lauren Faust and Meghan McCarthy that support the claims both that Celestia and Luna were born Alicorns and that Twilight (and presumably Cadence) will not outlive their non-alicorn friends. The problem with such Word of God, aside from Death of the Author, is neither McCarthy or Faust have the final say, Hasbro does, and self-evidently they can and have been replaced as showrunners. So in this case (and in TV generally) Word of God can and probably should be discarded, with canon only being what's in the work itself.
I don't fully understand what I just watched... But in a weird way it was actually kind of entertaining. XD

Insert the usual reminder that the show's sole existence to propagate the brand and sell products. I know it's jarring when the more blatant product placements happen, but every time I hear "Hasbro only did this to make money" I face palm. Cause, you know, Hasbro only pays for the production of the show itself to make money. The moment they don't, the FIM is done.
Hasbro was also fairly upfront on the matter with Cadence being a princess and why they altered Twilight. Their studies showed little girls, you know their target audience, wanted more princesses. Hasbro is giving their customers what they want, same goes with Equestria Girls. DHX is doing the same, giving their customer, in this case Hasbro, what they want.
I know none that matters to some, but hey, perspective.

The way I think Alicorns work is that they grow to be full size (like Luna and Celestia) then stop aging. But I do agree that Cadence did seemingly nothing for hey Alicorn magic.

True that Cadance was not originally an alicorn, and Celestia and Luna were supposed to be the only alicorns but it was Lauren Faust's plan for Twilight to be Celestia's successor. Therefore, it might not have been Candance's fault. It was Lauren from the beginning.
You know... for a video titled "cadence turned twilight into an allicorn" you didn't really explain how. I mean you explained the hasbro logistics, but we could assume twilight was always going to turn into an allicorn because it kind of would of happened regardless. So how did cadence turn twilight into an allicorn? I was kind of expecting a vast explanation about the back story idea of artificial allicorns. Also as far as "aging' allicorns, are you refering to the fact they will age and die, or just the fact they get older, cause really all alicorns reach maturity.

LOL Crazy. But there is one little detail that rules this theory out. Celestia mentions that Star Swirl the bearded never reached the level Twilight did. For me it implied that he could have reached the level of Alicorn, if he understood importance of friendship. That makes Twilight a rare and special case.

First, I've absolutely no problem with Twilight becoming an Alicorn princess. If anything, perhaps it happened a little too quickly. It probably wouldn't have felt so rushed with a full-length season to work with, but oh well. She's canon.
From my perspective, and that of some other analysis bronies whose names I've conveniently forgotten, 'Magical Mystery Cure' marks the end of Twilight's first character arc, as she comes to understand the nature and power of friendship (as in, this is an actual force in Equestria). This relates best to the key-giving episodes in season 4, where the messages of Friendship gets spread to other ponies, and something of which I'd like to see more.
Twilight's ascension as an Alicorn only occurred because Celestia (and by extension Luna) felt she was ready, as expressed by them sending 'Starswirl's Journal.' which contained the Ascension Spell that Twilight could only complete once she learned that last lesson about Friendship. And the final power that gave her wings, made her taller, and stretched her horn a tad came from her heart, and not from her Element. That's pretty powerful.
I also like the fact that in Equestria royal status can be earned. In season 4, Twilight shows that she doesn't really see much in her own status as a princess. She even starts off being completely uncomfortable with it. It's only when she IS comfortable with her being royalty that she starts asking what she should be doing with the title (and then 'You Will Play Your Part' happens). But this video isn't about royal status, it's about Alicorns.
Even though there are only 4 known Alicorns now, I like the theory that there is a race of Alicorns overseeing things, because that would explain where Celestia and Luna are from. What distinguishes these two the most from Cadence and Twilight is that their power is on a whole different level, as manifested in their flowing, ethereal manes. Such a state seems to be acquirable, as Sombra was just a Unicorn, but he had it, and Twilight has it periodically, when she's got the Triboost. So there's the other distinguishing factor: Celestia's and Luna's Ceaseless-type Immortality. This means they are essentially long-lived, with ill-defined lifespans, but they can be killed if hit with enough force. They have, after all, already lived for over 3,000 years that we know of (overthrow of Discord). So far Cadence does not have this, and it seems Twilight will never achieve it (for which she is probably going to be grateful -- ask Macros the Black if he thinks immortality is a curse). It would seem all this means there are two types of Alicorns (Natural and Ascended), as seems to be indicated in the 'Journal of the Two Sisters.' There's something I'll be trying to get my hands on!

Thankfully, it would seem that this 'Change of Heart' spell is to Cadence what the 'Diarium Ejus' is to Nodoka Miyazaki in 'Negima:' neither is likely to ever misuses these powers, which is the main reason they have them.
