Good morning. I want to use OI Share to cull photos on an external hard drive connected to my iPad Pro. I can’t get OI Share to recognize the external drive. Do you know how to make this work? Many thanks.
Hi Peter, I went for a period of not using the phone now I havnt taken a bunch of photos and tried to import them but they are not showing on the app (or via usb). But they are in the camera roll. Do you have any solutions
Dear Peter. Have you tried to use the "newest" version of this app with modern phones? For me it does not work at all. If I want to use it, then I have alos to use my old android phone, which is 6 years old. With my current samsung s22 it does not work at all.
I have not tested it with the latest phones. I know thta at some point there were some problems with Android phones. The challenge is taht every manufacturer has a slight different version of Android that they use. Technically manufacturers kinda of makes their own UI.
@@ForsgardPeter eventially the solution was to remove this app, reinstall it and start from the beginning. then it finally started to work Thank you for your work and help!
hi friend, my olympus omd e-m10 mk1 selector is not responding, there is a possibility to configure the movie settings on olympus image sharing ???? sorry for my english
Unfortunately I do not have a E-M10 MKI right now so I cannot test OI.Share and movie settings with it right now. Hope yo can find a solution to your problem.
Hi. My OI share app keeps disconnecting, and I have to connect everytime I want to transfer photos. I have an Android, and in the WiFi settings, it says connect automatically. But it doesn't happen. Thanks if you can help me.
For me, everything works on the OI.Share app except import photos, the thing I need it for the most. It always gives me the report “no images.“ Any ideas?
Are you trying to import raw files. If you have the E-m1 MKII (firmware 3.0 or never) or the E-M1X you need to turn on the raw import from the app. If you have any other Olympus body you cannot import raw-files.
I was able to import JPEG files by moving the card that writes JPEG to slot number one. I am writing raw files to slot number one, and, apparently, the app does not see the files on the slot number two card. Is there some other way around that? Thanks!
Great - Thank you! Unfortunately, I have a phone that is constantly "searching" for other WiFi networks, so the Olympus Share app constantly disconnects within a few seconds in a multi WiFi area. Bummer. (Samsung Galaxy S7 - Android 7)
@@ForsgardPeter Ahhhh! Yes - THANK YOU for suggesting that. On Galaxy S7 it is Settings>Connections>MoreConnectionSettings>Nearby Device Scanning [OFF]. In addition, do NOT have Location>Improve accuracy turned on. It does not hurt to have Airplane Mode on as well (only stops calls and text).
I hate that if I change into record mode everything is much worse... I can't choose anything, no apeture no nothing... I can't use the remote control to start the recording... So annoying... :(
I love the app, but regret that it is still not able to import RAW. Others are already capable of this - and if you use FlashAir, it will be available. So I see no obvious reason why it is not an option by default...
Hi Peter. I can’t make this app work properly. In your video I noticed that you have the same problem. Your camera is in manual focus and the tap to capture or tap to focus is grayed out. I am struggling with this. Try to use AF with the app. It seems to only work with certain in camera settings in place. For instance, if you move your half press focus function away from the shutter button, and place it for rear button focusing, the Oi.share is not going to work in autofocus mode…. Please test it properly. It would be great to see you taking actual images with the Oi.share in live view, rather than just showing the function does exist. If you do, you will realize the trouble. Have a great day.
@@ForsgardPeter Peter, I further investigated the issue. So far I came to the following conclusions: If you change the focus to AF-S or AF-C on the camera in one of the PSAM modes prior connecting to the application, the autofocus will work if AF-S and the tap to focus/capture will work. AF-C seems to be not available for stills in the app, only for the video, which is kind of logical. The clutch on pro lenses does work with the app, so you can go to manual focus with those lenses. With Sigma 30mm 1.4 the autofocus works, but manual focus doesn’t override it, even if you activate the AF-S plus MF in the camera settings. The only way to manually focus with a lens without clutch is to set manual focus prior connecting the camera to the application. The custom settings on M1 Mark III do not affect the application, so no matter what you program there, the focus setting comes form PASM mode anyway. It is a bit tricky so I thought I share these initial thoughts. I will keep digging and will try to understand, when the graying out of autofocus and tap to focus/capture occurs, as it happened in your video as well.
The idea is great, but in remote shutter mode the App CONSTANTLY DISCONNECTS (1 minute maximum connect time) and needs to be restarted with camera and device. This is true even when device is set to not do continuous search. The phones (Galaxy S7, iPhone 7, iPad tablets or whatever is chosen) and Android/IOS versions are perfectly fine. Can be TG or OMD type camera - doesn't matter. This App is VERY unreliable, even in remote areas where there can be no interference or excuses to disconnect. Sad and annoying.
False! Olympus apps don't work on "smartphones" as you say. They only work on Apple phones, on Android they are a pure shameful s**t. Everybody can check that on the Google Play Store. Go and check the awful reviews. Apple users think that they are the only ones on earth , but the great majority is elsewhere, and is on Android. And Olympus don't give a s**t about Android. For them only Apple exist. So if you are on Android better look elsewhere, Lumix for instance: works just as well as a camera and costs half the money, plus their app works like a charm

What do you want to do? OI. Share is for uploading teh images to your phone and that seems to work. Did I understand your question?

live view for video taking?
Yes there is. It only works with fullHD.

You can use the app as a trigger for high res images as well
