I just bought this so thanks for the review. I also bought a 2 battery charging station in a bag and 2 6ah power extra batteries. Hard to beat the price.
The price is better than Dewalt or Milwaukee and most of the Porter Cable tools work well. After a year and half of using the Porter Cable tools I still find myself buying Dewalt tools. With that being said, the Porter Cable drill, drivers, sander, multi-saw (I really like blade release), 4 1/2" grinder (bought separately) and light have worked great! No issues! The Reciprocating saw (saws-all) cuts but really vibrates, the jig saw cuts things well...it just doesn't cut straight (you have to aim it to the right). This I replaced with a Dewalt (which cuts great and straight)! And finally the circular saws...these did not hold up at all, had them all lock up and /or burn up the motor during normal use. After the third time having them repaired I ask Porter Cable to replace them with a better saw...thankfully they sent me two new saws different model which have worked great so far!
Do you like the nail guns. Thinking of adding that to my porter cable tools. Thanks for the info. Just added the jigsaw recently. What is your battery source. I know we have Batteries Plus locally. Pretty reasonable prices for new or rebuilt ones.
Hi Tim, thanks for watching...we use these nail guns all the time and they are still working great! Unfortunately we only have a few good batteries left. As for the rest of the tools we replaced them with Dewalt. The main reason for replacing them was batteries and tool quality. Dewalt is a much better tool, but also more expensive.
@@jdtoys2768 Yeah just went w/Ryobi instead lmao I was at HD shopping for something else and they had a drill/impact and string trimmer on clearance for $70. I know very weird combo kit. But I'm going to sell the trimmer so really I walked away w/a $50 purchase :D
Better watch what you buy from Porter Cable I had a table saw that i bought I thought I was buying something made by Porter Cable but I was wrong, the Porter cable name was licensed to a company called Chang Type that made the saw and put the Porter Cable name on it. I received a letter in the mail stating that the saw had be recalled because the motors are catching fire and they want to pay you $75.00 dollars for a saw that you paid 150 for. My free advice stay away from Porter Cable because they are junk, and the company practices deceptive ways of making the buyer think that he is getting a Porter Cable product when you are really buying a Chang Type.
krmcc01 Wow! I will definitely keep that in mind when buying tools in the future! As far as the cordless tools they have worked fine with daily use except for the circular saws...had sent one in for repair, then they both started smoking and quit working so, I finally ask for a replacement...so far they are working.Thank you for your comment.
That is just not true. I don't know where you bought the saw you bought with porter cables name on it. But I have to tell you your wrong porter cable was bought out and tock over by dewalt and I say just like any other brand they have some good and some not so good tools but none the less there fair priced and most I've used have been decent tools to work with
@@dvogel218 I don't care if they were bought out by Dewalt, I talked to the Porter Cable factory in TN and they told me that they licensed their name to the company that made the TYPE of saw that I had. The company is called Chang Type and they sent me a recall notice through the mail so yes it is the truth.

Would you still recommend the drill driver? Not a pro here, more on the end of DIY homeowner. It's either this or the Bauer from Harbor Freight.
Yes, the drill/drivers have worked great and we haven't had any problems with them.

Dave V thank you for your comment. The new Porter-Cable circular saws they sent to replace the defective saws have worked great so far!
