Hello I have a question for you can you share with me how your backhoe is attached to the JD does it have a sub frame ?
Hi John, the backhoe is mounted to the 3pt hitch and has a pump that attaches to the PTO shaft...we sure appreciate you watching!
What deck size is this mower, i just not sure but it looks like a 38 or 42
Hi Anthony, it is a 52" deck...thanks for watching!
I bought my ZT219 used & I truly enjoy it. She’s tough and durable. Smooth to operate.
Hi Eddie, the Bobcat is fun to mow with. However, super hard to start when it's warm (we have to leave it run between lawns if the're close to each other). We bought a new Ferris is3200z with a 61" deck. Wow, that Ferris is night and day different. It's faster, much smoother (with 4wheel independent suspension) and way more powerful with a 35hp Kawasaki engine. But with all that, we still use the 52" Bobcat on smaller lawns. Plus, it has a stripe kit on it. Thanks for watching.
Will be buying a 2520 soon. Great video!
Great...thanks for watching!
Cool video. You can currently buy this on Amazon for about $800.
Surprising how many ways you can use a quick hitch.
Wow it is amazing how smooth the dirt looks, nice facility.
The Lotos looks like a good deal considering Harbor Freight wants $900 for their 45amp plasma cutter.
How thick can it cut
Hi Guy, thanks for watching...Lotos claims you can cut 1" clean cut -Max Rated Clean Cut Thickness: 1". -Max Severance Cut Thickness: 1 1/2".
1in thickness easy. I got one 2018
Very nice video. Love this field 😍.
Coach Harris does a nice job...Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed this video Doug. I remember watching you do this back in 2021 before the fireworks.
Thanks for watching...
Do you like the nail guns. Thinking of adding that to my porter cable tools. Thanks for the info. Just added the jigsaw recently. What is your battery source. I know we have Batteries Plus locally. Pretty reasonable prices for new or rebuilt ones.
Hi Tim, thanks for watching...we use these nail guns all the time and they are still working great! Unfortunately we only have a few good batteries left. As for the rest of the tools we replaced them with Dewalt. The main reason for replacing them was batteries and tool quality. Dewalt is a much better tool, but also more expensive.
Which tractor do you feel has more power, specifically loader power. 2520 or 2025?
The 2520 has 27hp and the 2025r has 24hp. The 2520 has a much more power and the hydraulics are much faster. Thanks for watching!
That 430 is super nice!!
Thank you...we try to keep it as nice as possible. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Carter! Great job!
Carters a great young man...Thanks for watching!
Where do you get your mats? Great vid.
The mats in this video came from TSC. Thanks for watching!
Moldy saw?
Thanks for watching!
My experience with snow on a tractor is non existent but the little runner flapper things on the side seem to work well. Cool tractor and video👍
Thanks for watching... I envy you living in Florida! I watched you spreading the asphalt millings, I have done 4 or 5 driveways in the last month using the ground up millings.
@@jdtoys2768 Right now is our beautiful time in my opinion, but I grew up up north, my opinion is not shared with the natives😂.
I have no problem spending money on my toys. But spending almost $200 on a set of wings seemed to be a little wasteful for what the wings actually are. But, after watching your video, I went out and bought the stall mat from Tractor Supply, (I could probably make 8 of these wings from the one mat) Your video made it seem so simple so I figured, why not try. I am SOOOO glad I watched you guys. Everything came out without a hitch and I have the satisfaction that I made them myself. Thanks for laying out all of the details and, can't wait for this years snow. Well done video !!! PS. I totally agree that using the utility knife was much better than an oscillating tool, jigsaw or angle grinder with a cut-off wheel that I tried first. =)
Joey, I'm glad you were able to make your own!!! Great job! We have started to cut them with a band saw...this works well. Thank you for watching and commenting! Doug
So how do you like the tractor I’m looking at the same tractor
Jason, We really like the John Deere 2520...however, we just sold it to Patrick (and he seems to love the extra power and faster hydraulics than their 2025R) and replaced it with a 2016 2032R with 135 hours on it. Thanks for watching, Doug
Hello enjoyed your videos on fabricating and installing rubber extension wings if there’s any chance you could contact me or send contact info ; I’ll be interested in buying some thanks John
Hi John, it was great to talk with you...enjoy your new wings and cutting edge. (John decided to make his own). We love it when people can make their own things! Thanks for watching, Doug
Nicely done! The stripping looks great! Have a good week! See ya!
Thanks John and I sure appreciate you watching. I see your really enjoying your new tractor! Very nice! Thanks, Doug
Carter those are the coolest shoes...
That looks like an easy way to move a trailer. Never thought to use my quick hitch...
Does the Bob Cat have a stripe kit?
The Bobcat sure leaves nice stripes.
Hello thanks for the good video on wing installation ; I’d be interested in adding a short 6 inch set to my 48 inch plow on a John Deere X580 tractor do you have contact information thanks John
Hi John, you can email us at crawfordironworks@gmail.com, thanks for watching!
@@jdtoys2768 Hello I keep trying your email with no response I’d be interested in buying a set of the rubber wings extensions please contact me thank you John
Love having the H.F. quick hitch! lol Nicely done video! Have a good weekend! See ya!
Thanks John and thanks for watching!
Good to see you're still on here. I talked to you a couple years ago at the 4th of July. Picked up a 430 of my own now and made a video on it. Just picked up my 3 pt hitch yesterday. Nothing to do today in the rain though.
That is awesome! I can hook you up with all kinds of information and attachments for John Deere 430's. Thanks for watching.
Found it....how cool
What year is your 2520? Are there supports that go on before the quick hitch bracket?
2008, Do you have a mid mount mower for yours? You have the snow plow, a quick attach and there's another bracket the quick attach bracket attaches to that you will need. I have a mid mount mower, so I bought the bracket that allows you to attach your mower, otherwise you will have to change the bracket when you go from the snow plow to your mower. Hope that helps. Let me know if you need part numbers. Thanks for watching our video!
@@jdtoys2768 No mower, no bracket either.
Why the bar tires on front? Thats all i have to say.
Hi, good to meet you today on that 430
You too, hope you enjoyed the fireworks!
Nice ending. Lol
Thank you for watching!
Hey JD Toys!! The same thing here! Lots of rain!! Looks like the coach was have fun on the JD! Have a good one!!
Thanks, John! I see you had some great news with your 100th video!!!
@@jdtoys2768 I was very blessed!! Thanks!
Great job Coaches. Loved the video!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Would you still recommend the drill driver? Not a pro here, more on the end of DIY homeowner. It's either this or the Bauer from Harbor Freight.
Yes, the drill/drivers have worked great and we haven't had any problems with them.
@@jdtoys2768 Yeah just went w/Ryobi instead lmao I was at HD shopping for something else and they had a drill/impact and string trimmer on clearance for $70. I know very weird combo kit. But I'm going to sell the trimmer so really I walked away w/a $50 purchase :D
@@tuanh_duong Nice!
Kinda need to get new tracks those looked stretched
Bobby Morris yes they were pretty worn out, I put new ones on last November.
I recently purchased a 2025r. Great tractor! What brand is that backhoe?
The Palmer Divide the backhoe is a Mazzotti 200.
@@crawfordironworks166 Thanks!
great video , easy to follow. thank you
Do you sell the plow wings without the holes drilled? I used a TSC 2x4 foot 1/2” reclaimed rubber but it has no strength. The material you used appears much stronger than what I bought. Reply with your email if you could sell me the wings horse mat wings with slots cut in. I have the 54 inch JD blade. Bill
Well done. Thanks for the thoughtfully put together video. I watch your other video on making the extensions. Excellent, thanks. Keep the videos coming.
Nice work. Does the half inch thick mat work best when the wings are 6” wide?
qfdforme It seems to be the best we’ve tried. It doesn’t wear out fast and is still strong enough to move heavy snow and light gravel.
Half inch rubber will work fine. The curvature of the blade will give it plenty of strength. We cut up to 12" wide wings with 9" beyond the blade edge with 1/2" non-re-enforced rubber.
Do you sell 6” precut wings and cutting edge? No holes need since I already have holes drilled in the plow for Artillian wings.
Thanks, I have the same 54 inch blade on by 1025 R. How did you cut the rubber mat? I was planning on using a circular skil saw. I have the TSC sold 36x48 by 1/2 inch rubber mat. That size bolts did you use?
qfdforme I used a harbor freight multi tool that vibrates with a knife attachment. I believe we used 5/8 bolts.
We use 5/16" bolts for both the wings and cutting edge when using 1/2" rubber. For the wings the top 4 bolts are 1 1/2" and the bottom bolt is 2 1/2" in length if you install a rubber cutting edge. You can a 5/16" X 2" bolt in the bottom of the wing if not using a rubber cutting edge. We cut our reinforced rubber with bandsaws. You can cut your 1/2" rubber with a utility knife and a straight edge making several cuts...remember to keep your hand and fingers away from or behind the blade. Use proper safety gear and use common sense...be safe!
I just bought this so thanks for the review. I also bought a 2 battery charging station in a bag and 2 6ah power extra batteries. Hard to beat the price.
The price is better than Dewalt or Milwaukee and most of the Porter Cable tools work well. After a year and half of using the Porter Cable tools I still find myself buying Dewalt tools. With that being said, the Porter Cable drill, drivers, sander, multi-saw (I really like blade release), 4 1/2" grinder (bought separately) and light have worked great! No issues! The Reciprocating saw (saws-all) cuts but really vibrates, the jig saw cuts things well...it just doesn't cut straight (you have to aim it to the right). This I replaced with a Dewalt (which cuts great and straight)! And finally the circular saws...these did not hold up at all, had them all lock up and /or burn up the motor during normal use. After the third time having them repaired I ask Porter Cable to replace them with a better saw...thankfully they sent me two new saws different model which have worked great so far!
Looks great! Can you make them for a 60" John Deere plow I just purchased for my 1025R?
Hi Kevin, Yes we can make wings and cutting edges for the 60" blades. How do you like you 60" blade? Does the 1025R handle it ok?
@@jdtoys2768 seems to handle it fine. I don't have any experience with a 54" blade to compare. I'm using it when it's not ideal to use my 54" blower. What's the best way to talk more about details for my plow. Thanks
Hi Kevin, email Doug at crawfordironworks@gmail.com and include your name & phone number.
If you wanted those wings to be angled in forward a bit to form a 'scoop' blade, do you think cutting them down the middle horizontally, and then pulling the top and bottom together would form that? I've been thinking about trying this for myself.
Hi Brandon, if you decide to make a set of wings and cut them as you indicated, I would love to hear how it works and maybe a picture of it. Cool idea!

Better watch what you buy from Porter Cable I had a table saw that i bought I thought I was buying something made by Porter Cable but I was wrong, the Porter cable name was licensed to a company called Chang Type that made the saw and put the Porter Cable name on it. I received a letter in the mail stating that the saw had be recalled because the motors are catching fire and they want to pay you $75.00 dollars for a saw that you paid 150 for. My free advice stay away from Porter Cable because they are junk, and the company practices deceptive ways of making the buyer think that he is getting a Porter Cable product when you are really buying a Chang Type.
krmcc01 Wow! I will definitely keep that in mind when buying tools in the future! As far as the cordless tools they have worked fine with daily use except for the circular saws...had sent one in for repair, then they both started smoking and quit working so, I finally ask for a replacement...so far they are working.Thank you for your comment.
That is just not true. I don't know where you bought the saw you bought with porter cables name on it. But I have to tell you your wrong porter cable was bought out and tock over by dewalt and I say just like any other brand they have some good and some not so good tools but none the less there fair priced and most I've used have been decent tools to work with
Dave V thank you for your comment. The new Porter-Cable circular saws they sent to replace the defective saws have worked great so far!
@@dvogel218 I don't care if they were bought out by Dewalt, I talked to the Porter Cable factory in TN and they told me that they licensed their name to the company that made the TYPE of saw that I had. The company is called Chang Type and they sent me a recall notice through the mail so yes it is the truth.
