I'm sorry to hear that your Mom passed away.
In last year I lost my Dad - he suffered from lung cancer for a couple of years. Although I know that the death means no more pain for him and he had big pain especially towards the end. But a loss is always painful - the person is suddenly away and we're missing him. Sending hugs to you

Oh I'm so sorry about your dad too. Yah, it is hard, because you want them here, but you don't want them to suffer anymore. Thanks for the hugs. Hugs back.

I'm sorry to hear this. One of my friends died a month or so ago and had a touch of dementia. For her, death was mercy. She held on for so long. She was half-deaf, only had one eye to see with, could barely walk, drooled all over herself, was schizophrenic, had diabetes, had had a tumor and cancer. She could barely speak. This all happed from a stroke. She had several brain operations. We had the police all over us after she started calling them and saying her grandchild was missing. She'd leave sodas outside of the door. She fell, which she did all of the time, and had a brain bleed and after some other issues, they let her die. With her luck, and I don't mean to be disrespectful, she would have woken up.

Oh my gosh! That sounds terrible. I'm so sorry you and your friend had to suffer through that. Yes, death was mercy for my mom too. By the end she was really suffering.

@@ichbinkeinberliner i am so incredibly sorry for your loss Kris. i know what you're going thru. my own mom had parkinsons (i hate the word) and dementia also. it was devastating, and i still miss her thirty years later. it will be tough, but just take one day at a time. going into an empty house is the roughest. remember she is with you when you are missing her the most. feel your grief, don't hold back. talk to me if you like. with love and deepest sympathy, Rosemary 🕊
