- Captain EO is a 3-D film starring Michael Jackson and directed by Francis Ford Coppola (who came up with the name, "Captain EO", (from the Greek, cf. "Eos", the Greek goddess of dawn) that was shown at Disney theme parks from 1986 through the 1990s. The attraction returned to the Disney theme parks in 2010, as a tribute after Jackson's death.

I saw this as a kid growing up only months after it first came out!!! It was a time waiting for the next Michael Jackson album that would eventually become Bad and we as Michael fans were dying to see him after the Thriller short film of 84. My family took me and my sister to Disneyland and it was new and exciting and long lines! It was at the time by far the best 3D anyone had seen and my sister and my folks all enjoyed with me as I am the die hard Michael fan in the family! Pure magic!! Saw it twice back to back and my sister bought the fuzzball stuffed animal at the gift shop. So cool to see it again!

The dislike came from the fact they're pissed they missed this as a kid! Can't hate on this. Other than the fact it's a short film. MJ and the rest of the people he worked with came up with an awesome film.

Man this brings back so many memories. I remember feeling good and walking out of the theater back into Tomorrowland w "Another Part of Me" playing as you exit the theater. (Who can ever forget the bassline??) Everyone doing Michael Jackson moves outside as you walk into the souvenir shop.

I rode this at Epcot (Florida), when I was like three. This is one of the only memories that I can remember from that age. I remember this scaring the dookey out of me!

Everything great about the eighties in one staple video. I must have watched this 15 times visiting Disneyland and never got tired of this especially when MJ unleashes his dancing superpowers. He was my superhero.

We took my little brother to Captain EO and I remember when we took our little brother he was scared Fuzzball would fly up to him. As teens we thought He was so embarrassing ... now we laugh at it. I was at Disneyland the year this opened...it was AWESOME! Still the best 3D I've seen, which was developed by Kodak and presented in the Magic Eye Theatre at the base of the Space Mountain complex. Disney/Kodak presents a George Lucas production, directed by Francis Ford Coppola...Michael Jackson is Captain EO!
you're right, it was the best 3-D! The whole audience was reaching out towards the screen trying to touch the objects in the air before them. Why was it so good? Have we ever had 3D this good since then????????

I probably wouldn't say remastered - Probably restored as best as possible using the terrible source material available. In reality, if the film print were properly rescanned and remastered, a digital version of this would look stunning in 2020.

It still boggles my mind that it's really her, I can't reconcile it's the same Angelica Huston hissing and chewing up the scenery in that make-up. She has an usual stern look and she looks younger than the ending without that gothic make-up on her face. I used to think it was 2 different actresses.

As a hard core MJ fan that loves him beyond words, I actually like this theory. Although, I question it because I'm pretty sure George Lucas / Spielberg and Coppola came up with the storyline. Were they forward thinking enough to go that deep? I have read that the song Another Part of Me was actually inspired by a planetary alignment that occurred in the early 80s that started a spiritual / metaphysical movement about unity and single consciousness aka "universal mind" that Michael might have been aware of. To me it sounds about right. Going back to the 70's and songs like Can You Feel It? have that vibe too.

The original was over saturated. It was the 80's. They loved vibrant colors. You must have only seen the 2010 version.
