the 80's.... a lot of memories.... the world seems so different now.... there isn't even michael... michael wherever you are right now...i still love you....
listenhealthily well that's your opinion. i personally think that's what made it so intriguing to me. don't bash anyone for their own opinions. it's very childish and inconsiderate of you to do that. 🙃
I may die sooner than you, but I got to see some of the best music videos when they were brand new and MTV was actually about music. Imagine being 3 and seeing Land of Confusion. Blew my mind. So many of the videos in the 80s were bright and childlike too.
I showed this to a little 6 year old and whst she took from it, in her own words, " he takes the bad out of people and makes them good!" A 6 YEAR OLD UNDERDTOOD THE VERY MEANING OF MICHAEL ON THIS EARTH!!! It is the very best way to introduce MJ to a child.
In 1988 my girlfriend (now my wife) visited EPCOT. We were spellbound by this incredible 'space opera'. Spent HOURS watching it on repeat (leaving, then running around to see the next show) We could literally speak the lines, word for word, and of course the amazing songs. I wore my Captain EO tshirt for years. In 2010 we visited Disneyland in LA so we could see it one more time. The Captain EO 'Tribute' It didn't disappoint. Fantastic!
lol, i figured out early on that you could forgo the lines and preshow by simply walking into the exit as people left, just grab glasses out of the bin and take a seat as the next audience was let in.
What was so amazing about MJ was that all these people in the video have years of technical training and dance experience, practicing for weeks and he can practice for a minute but simply walk in and nail what they were doing purely on rhythm
I will say there is something angelic about him. I adore him in any shape, face, voice all that doesn’t matter. I adore his spirit and soul. Pure as Heaven. I am so Thankful to be alive present day for this Beautiful earth changing HISTORY!
I wish people would stop believing the media blindly and actually looked at the man properly through the years, he really didn't change that much, he didn't have a massive amount of plastic surgery and didn't look that bad Imo, yeah he looked strange with the pale skin and small nose (he should've stopped the nose jobs for sure) but he looked fine most of the time. The only things that changed about his face was the nose, chin, skin tone and hair. Actually LOOK at photos of him, you won't see a massive difference.
Mrazmatmahmood He did have loads of Surgery and was also documented on that program of what eh would of looked like if he would of had no surgery at all And surgeons were going through certain years what he had done and what and it was more than what you just said....With all other things you mentioned he also had stuff done to his chin and forehead If you would of made MJ more white on the Thriller album he wouldn't of looked weird- but the combo of him bleaching his skin tone with all surgery there was a massive difference I have looked at photos of him, Been a fan of his since I was 4 years old
mikey p No, he had nothing more done to his face other than his nose and chin, maybe a one or two facelifts. These bullshit demonstrations on what he would've looked without surgery are just that, bullshit. They could never know what he would look like, it's stupid. Those surgeons that appeared in the bullshit documentaries about his plastic surgery were paid to say what they did. How are they supposed to know what surgeries he had conclusively, they didn't know MJ, they were just guessing like everyone else, sensationalism sells. Sensationalism and gossip is why those documentaries were made in the first place, they didn't make them because MJ's plastic surgery was an important topic. Those documentaries are just for entertainment, not information. They were made to brainwash the public into believing the most successful black artist of all time, who by their own admission "broke down racial barriers" actually in fact loathed being black. It was white supremacy at it's best (or worst) and if you can't see all that then you're not an MJ fan at all are you? You believe the media too easily. MJ said himself, "just because you read it in a magazine or see it on a TV screen don't make it factual". Why do you keep on saying he bleached his skin? It is a proven fact he had vitiligo. No one can bleach their skin to that extent, they'd die trying. There are numerous photos of MJ with blotches on his neck, his arms and chest. Tom Mesereau said he saw the blotches on mj's back when he lifted up his shirt.
After experiencing Captain EO for the first time, it was an awesome experience that I'd never forget. What makes the short movie good is the music, visual effects, sound effects, and the 80's tone. And not only those, but Michael Jackson! Man, I wish and maybe some day we could watch this at Disneyland again. The Pre-Show music has so much charisma and vibe that makes it very enjoyable and exciting to listen to.
My parents taped this for me back in the day and I watched it until the tape wore out! Back then, it was really the only way for me to relive the ride experience at home. Thank you so much for uploading this, it brings a smile to my face :-)
end up watching this at 3am :) :) at mark 27:24 the choreographer was explaining his experience with MJ and how it was easy to just throw him the moves and he'll pull it off perfectly :) :) tells what a great dancer MJ was!!! Dancing is one talent when you can master the moves and precision to the tune but if your not gifted with it you can never have the grace and swag of the movements... MJ's ability to dance was on top of all these gifted dancers making professionals amateur dancing with him :)
Andy 1231 his vitiligo and lupus was diagnosed sometime around the height of thriller. He didn't change any of his facial at this point he just began using lighter makeup on his face and covering up the rest of his body so you couldn't see.
Michael Jackson's facial appearance never changed from 84 to 09, only his complexion due to his vitiligo/lupus was which undergoing a state of flux over time, covered up by ever changing foundation makeup.
Amazing having the actress from the movie Sister Act taking us behind the scenes of Captain Eo. And also neat seeing the actress from the movie The Addams Family.
I remember recording this off of the Disney Channel way back when it first aired. Although I didn't actually see the full film until the launch of RUclips YEARS later, I wore the VHS tape out watching this "making-of" documentary so many times. Thank you for posting!
it was an shame that they didn't release it to theatres for those who couldn't afford to go to Disney land in which it could be cool as an child growing upin the 80's .
I'll never forget watching this at Disney land, California with the family in 2010! I've never seen real 3D like that in my life. The images floated right in front of your face! I couldn't help but reach out and grab it!!!! I would go again just to see Captain Eo. Long live the King Of Pop.
MTV showed Captain EO only once back in 1995,because it was leading up to the premiere of the Scream video. I'm glad I can now see it on RUclips as well as the behind the scenes documentary.
eversince michael is the best performer ever but his also a great amazing actor,,every time i saw him on his acting moment full of hearts and emmotion like when he sing,,he has a lot of talent gifts from GOD,,
I never been in 80's because I'm born in 2002.If I have a chance to travel back in time I definitely choose 80's. They all are really talented and that time technology is not like today. They workred really hard to reach the successful and made this masterpiece
This brings back such great memories. I was fortunate to have seen it both in Disneyland and in Disney World when it first came out. I also had the opportunity to interview the President of Disney, Michale Eisner about what it was like to work with Michael Jackson. And of course, he said Michael was incredible to work with. I think I saw it four times the first time at Disney. lol. And several times after. When they brought it back in 2010, of course, being one of the small group of fans who petitioned to bring it back...I had to go again. lol. This short film is a masterpiece. It never gets old.
The people that got to experience it are so fortunate because they got to see it before it was gone from Disney😭 I wasn’t even born when it came out neither and by the time I went to Disney for the first time, it was already gone😢
My parents took us to Disney World in FL for family vacations from the time I was 9 (‘86) until I was 16-17. I *had* to watch this each and every time we went to Epcot (had a bit of a crush on MJ as a little kid, too). It’s unfortunate that this fun masterpiece is no longer a staple experience there. So glad to find this gem of a video that brought back so many great memories!
Thanks so so much for putting this video tribute on youtube! I had not seen it before. Really great! Appreciate yr doing it. And every time I see Michael Jackson it is same amazing magic ever.
Dude its insane how much effort and detail went into this. So sad its just a thing in the past after all of that work. Im vehe grareufk i got to see it in 2014 at disneyland and back in 1989.
When Michael is in the harness for the flying scene is he wearing sweat pants and sneakers? If so it might be the first time I have seen him in that kind of casual outfit.
1980Triumph Google images of Mike in pajamas. In his latter years, he often wore silk pajamas & even wore sweatpants with white t-shirts & letterman style jackets.
Here she bitches about not getting an Oscar. I find the irony of this funny because in her lifetime she got an Oscar, a Grammy an Emmy a Tony and a bunch of Kids Choice Blimps!
I worked at this attraction in 1987 at Epcot and I learned all of the dance moves and the whole script. During the dance scene in the exit area, Sam, Lamont would hide by the doors and as I came down the isle I would do the same thing Michael was doing with the lasers an they would come out and line up behind me. Just like on the screen we would do the same and guests would stop watching what was going on the screen and would film us. After the show they would take pictures, autographs, hugs and thank us. I bought the dvd and often play it at times. Nothing but great memories of this short film being that I grew up idolizing Michael Jackson as a kid. After 34 yrs with the Walt Disney company I still find myself still doing those dance/script scenes today and love to share my stories.
I saw Captain EO as a kid at Disney and remember on its last day they aired it on TV. It was such a huge event. My extended family (12 living in the house) all gathered around the TV to watch it together. What an experience
Hooter was a good character and the "Witch" character played by Huston was visually very cool. Just Another Part Of Me is one of MJs least known and underated tracks but a very cool track.
Disney needs to give this underrated 80's gem a Digital Ultra HD update clean up the effects and the lighting and put it on Disney + so many people don't know about this film and a lot of people who are MJ fans don't know about it
Wow Captain had its own Theater Built ..at DisneyLand..❤️💜♥️🦋🦋🌎Beautiful.3D I love Whoopi Goldberg..👏👏👏👏👍Disney World And Disney Land.. I love Another Part of Me.. He performs it in the Bad Era with so Much Passion ..It was steady playing at Disney..
Wow!! I remember seeing this when we took our first big family trip to Disney World. I was 9 when this premiered in 86. It seems like a lifetime ago. MJ looked really good. His plastic surgery wasn’t excessive as it became later. He was like a god, back then. Such talent.
chigal09 Nice background info of your time seeing this but , I can’t help but to disagree with you about Michael. He was never excessive with surgery at anytime of his life. He constantly look different because of the change in skin color(caused by vitiligo) and lost and gain in weight in his face .
I stand by my statement Doggonelxver. Even Stevie Wonder could see his face changed considerably from Captain EO to his death. Put aside his vitiligo, his excessive surgeries made him look horrible. Just because one has vitiligo does not cause bone structural changes to the face. It was obvious. His issues with his appearance stem from his abusive father. His psyche was greatly, and unfortunately didn’t get the psychological help he needed.
@@chigal0926shut up. You have no idea what you are talking about. Your comment is old but so damn ignorant. He actually didn't have excessive surgery. He had vitiligo, lupus, Pepsi commercial burn, aging and etc. And a lot of some surgery was necessary and he never shy away about his cosmetic surgery. Besides he was always handsome throughout his life. Hopefully in four years you now know better.
I remember seeing the making of this ride when I was a kid. I wanted so bad to go to Disney World to go on the ride. I'm glad I finally got to go in 2012 before it was retired. It is a mini bucket list item I can count as checked off. I only wish that I could've experienced with all the original in-theater effects from its original run.
Pretty cool to see Poppin Taco teaching Mike how to pop lock. For those who dont know, he was part of the Breakin' crew; Shaba doo, Boogaloo Shrimp, and Ana Lollipop Sanchez.
that jacket really lit up. Lee Danser made it at Parsons/Meares Ltd in NY.... and when Michael was unable to come for fittings, I modeled the slacks for the designer... entitling me to say unequivocally that i have been in Michael Jackson's pants.... a great memory.
I miss this attraction when i was a kid, being in that circular waiting room to get inside that dark big theater to see michael, 3d was new so i was so convinced it was real, made u forget u were even in disneyland.
Yesterworlds Disney channel special brought me here. This making of special on Disney channel sparked me . I got to see it in person and didn't dissapoint
Well George Lucas did help create this and this short film for Disney came out around the same time as Return Of The Jedi 👌 so it's inspired by Max Rebo possibly. 👍
I still have this VHS tape that my dad recorded for me. By the way the poppers was Turbo And pop n taco. To which Michael worked with them many at times throughout the years. BTaw the blue-green part was cool.
@@OfficialShabda No ! Vitiligo is a condition which spreads on gradually over the years like cancer. It was not all make up..! By the late 90s it came to its full fruition and it pretty much stayed the same till he died.
@@OfficialShabda Yes, exactly. Watch the video for "Stranger In Moscow" as Michael was completely soaked, a lot of the makeup was just washed off. He is also almost without make-up during the "Royal Concert in Brunei" - it was hot and the make-up just "drifted off". As someone already wrote here, Michael had reconstructions mainly because of Lupus. Another video shows a bandage covering the entire right cheek.
Many of us who grew up in the 80’s are being tortured by having to witness the complete decline and crap way the world is now, as of 2021. God please help this rid this planet of evil.
Michael Jackson's white Captain EO outfit is reminiscent of his glittery silver outfit in 'Rock with you' & later his black outfit in the video 'Bad.' Angelica Houston's outfit & design is similar to 'Alien' & borg from Star Trek: Voyager. Easter egg alert in captain eo, 'Max Rebo'😉👉 'Return of the Jedi'

That girl was like, Michael I taught u how to dance I taught u how to sing lol! My gal, love whoopi!
Fun fact: Michael Jackson asked Whoopi Goldberg to host this as a personal favor to him. See how strong her friendship with him was?

@@chigal0926 He had lupus and a physician confirmed that it was largely responsible for the reconstructive surgeries due to it causing tissue damage.
I never knew it was that dude that played hooter.
You Learn something every day lol
Guy is a Real Hollyweird Veteran ! He was even in Blade Runner 🎥!
13:16 lmfao! :--D
Thanks to the uploader if this classic 80s MJ
Pretty cool to see Poppin Taco teaching Mike how to pop lock. For those who dont know, he was part of the Breakin' crew; Shaba doo, Boogaloo Shrimp, and Ana Lollipop Sanchez.
MJ already knew how to pop lock way before he met Poppin taco.
I never knew the dwarf from bad Santa was hooter!!!
listenhealthily He was. Watch the damn video and look at behind scenes photos. That little black guy is older than you think now
Tony Cox
they need to put this back at disneyland
I agreed we can protest
that jacket really lit up.
This is such a great film! I would say that it is in the thrad era. Love and miss you mike, the world will never be the same
Yesterworlds Disney channel special brought me here.
This making of special on Disney channel sparked me .
I got to see it in person and didn't dissapoint
Michael is really cute, and good looking, why didn't he played all the super hero men characters 😭😢
Michaels Laugh is like Gold dust
its on my bucket list to see this at Disneyland
It's not there anymore :( I hope it comes back one day though
Hooter looks like Max Rebo from Return of the Jedi
Well George Lucas did help create this and this short film for Disney came out around the same time as Return Of The Jedi 👌 so it's inspired by Max Rebo possibly. 👍
@@moddynizedgaming it actually came out in 1986 and ROTJ came out 1983.
He got a gig
I remember waiting in line and watching the rehearsals and you could hear the bass
they should up grade that captain Eo, by today's standards of 3D
I still have this VHS tape that my dad recorded for me. By the way the poppers was Turbo And pop n taco. To which Michael worked with them many at times throughout the years. BTaw the blue-green part was cool.
I have never seen this either. Michael is so fine!
Analica Huston so beautiful 💖
Thanks for posting this video!
Bring back captain eo
How the girl hit Michael at 33:41😂😂
Look at Michael's face here back in 86 34:28. Wish he could of stayed like that..
Actually he looked like that till late 90s, if you ever saw him with no makeup.
Another video shows a bandage covering the entire right cheek.
when I were eight year. old I watch it on Disney channel in my hometown bend Oregon
14:31 😂😂❤️
Was looking for this! 😅😅 Michael's laugh is just pure perfection! 💙
I just love mj's videos you'll see least dislikes or even no dislike... luv u mj
I love the message of forgiveness❤️
Merci pour l'poste.
I love how they keep calling him Michael Jackson only a few times I just heard Michael...
Such a gorgeous side profile of Michael ❤
28:29 what a dance move!😍
30:43 such a professional artist
Майкл- это драгоценный камень, я бы отказалась от всех камней в мире, чтоб дотронуться до этого фантастического бриллианта изумительной грани -МАЙКЛА
LOVE MJ!
