This is the video. I spent 3 hours unsuccessfully trying to install the insert yesterday. I hurt my back and my arms are killing me. I was about to return the insert. I watched this video twice and today it took my 5 minutes to install without using levers. Thank you!
This is one of the best vids I've seen on a 'insert install' so far. I'm prepping for a Tannus install soon. I've watched most the shorter (~5-10 min) ones from Tannus. I've read the comments and their tips/suggestions. I've watched end-user install videos. I've even watched some good CushCore and Rimpact installs to get some ideas. This guy explains this very well, is thorough, isn't rushing to get it done in "5 minutes", or some set time. Great work, great info, and great explanation of the process. This should def. help me when I get to the install myself.
Ive heard that inserts in general are a pain to install, but after watching this video and how Clayton technically explains it, it isnt as bad at all. I met him this past Hurricane Bike Fest, and he explained to me how the inserts work. I was tempted to purchase them, but at the time I was in the market for new rims and tires, so I decided to hold off. Now that I have purchased both, Im bummed not taking his offer. This product looks promising, I appreciate the clear explanation.
Thanks for chiming in and talking inserts. Tire inserts are more for performance, but also protect your rims. Your wheels will thank you! Thanks for watching
If you have an extra rim kicking around, put the insert on that and let it sit for a day, helps set to the profile of the rim. Also, definitely set the beads of the tire first, let the air out and pop off one bead and start your insert install. Makes a big difference installing these inserts. Installed on a Chromag BA30 29" with a DHR II
Im using a no name really thick plastic liner. Maybe like 3 credit cards thick, but pliable. I trying the thick nylon 4" webbing cut down a bit thinner next if its no good. Since the Tannus gets thin fast, I will go to a solid before I go with them.
Right, I've installed this insert on a DHR II with a few rides on it, used no tire levers, rolled the bead onto the tire and have a wobble. I had one side of the bead on the rim for the most room, pushed everything into the well of the reserve rim and it still happens.
Hi *ImoonPeople!* ..nice name btw lol. Just to confirm, it is a wobble in the tire, not the rim? Rim is true? We've found that if you are experiencing a little wobble, applying some dish soap to the insert's edges can help the insert slip into its pocket in the tire. Also, coating the insert with some sealant helps everything move into place. When it's a new tire, new insert they can tend to stick together a bit. You can after mounting up the tire&insert roll the wheel on the ground pressing down to help massage the insert inside the tire. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

*Strategy over strength. Works everytime :) Thanks for sharing!*

Glad ya liked it! Clayton is the man. Enjoy the ride
Great tip with the trashcan. 👍

Damm this actually helped. Good looking out. Just delete those "one minute install" click bait shorts. This is the real one!
Holy crap I’m sending these things right back. If this is the easy way, and the pro is out of breath, this is not a properly designed product yet.
Technique worked for me. Thanks!

Unfortunately the tire comes off the bead on both sides when deflating so this doesn’t help me
