Last weekend I sold my 1980s JC-120 that I have had since the 90s. That is the exact circuit it is mimicking. Beautiful. I just don't need an amp that huge these days. We go direct at church and use in-ears. Wonderful to hear you play through this. Thanks for this vid. It is timely.
@@JasonAyalaSpare The good news is I sold my amp to a longtime friend and he is running it with his Marshall Stack. So it is being gigged and I know who has it.
Glad I came across this vid. There are tons of pedals out there which make it difficult to pick one. But your demo is straight forward and this is how most of us are gonna this. I think most viewers want to hear the sound of the pedal in relation to the song where they plan to use the pedal. You got that covered in this demo plus the pedal itself sounds awesome. Keep it up 👍
Jason. I found you through the Past FX site, what an incredible discovery! I just purchased the Elastic Mattress and my Chorus Ensemble mn3007 is shipping Today…👍 Verlie at Past FX is fantastic and Patient with answering all my questions. But, Your Demos are Epic!!! Your playing and descriptions are right on and a bit of Fun too. I have two chorus pedals an MXR Analog and a Boss Dimension Wawa Craft but this one I’m feeling will be the new Go To pedal. Keep up the Great Work. Thanks from the US…🙏🇺🇦
The boss ce-1 had the MN3002 which is a 512 stage BBD The Ce-1 had a sin wave chorus The Ce-2 (which has the MN3007) is a triangle. To my ears this pedal is warbling like a sin wave. It’s a re housed boss ce-2 And John Frusciante used a DOD Fx 65 Chorus. Which had a mn3007 (boss ce-2 clone, with a width knob)
The CE-1 had both sine and triangle waves (chorus and vibrato modes). Neither is a true vibrato, both are chorus. This pedal certainly is not a rehoused CE-2. John used the FX65 on Blood Sugar Sex Magik, but then returned to the CE-1 and has used it on every record since then.
I get so confused about John Frusciante's chorus used. I've read it was the small stone. then the FX65, and now the CE-1? Which is it? Have to say, this clip playing under the bridge doesn't seem to have the sound I remember on the record. Not saying it's not correct, but the internets...🤷♂
@@JasonAyalaSpare im actually trying to decide between that and the Chorus ensemble. Hard choice. The fx 65 was my first ever experience with a stereo chorus back in the late 80s
The Pastfx deluxe CE uses the MN3002. While I currently use the deluxe model, I never got to test both the CE7 and the deluxe side by side, so I can't tell you if they sound any different.
@@JasonAyalaSpare Could you compare them. interesting how different chips can affect same circuit with same pots settings.. I heard that first CE 1s had 3007 for a while and than they switched to 3002. .
@@JasonAyalaSpare ok, but it's not same at all , i meant to a regular dry/wet button. like most guitar players i don't work in stereo, and as i said it doesn't have this function if you are working in mono. it's weird that after all effort of building and designing it doesn't such a basic button.

That's right, they took the chorus circuit from the JC120 and put into a pedal. I bet it had a great clean tone.
@@JasonAyalaSpare The best, my friend, the best. It is my favorite amp hands down.

I just ordered the Mini version and I can’t wait. Dude, your Metallica skills are beautiful.
That's great news. Can you post some photos on the MAGJ Facebook page when you get it?
just ordered one!!!! i cant wait to play me some metallica and rhcp!
It's perfect for those tones.
Nice chorus pedal. Useable in different settings. This one’s gonna be my new favourite chorus. Thanks for the demo \m/.
Glad you liked it!

I can't stop playing the Elastic Mattress, great pedal.
Thanks my chorus.
I think John used a DOD chorus for BDSM
@@williampacult9431 Lol, I just realized that
Awesome pedal!
Yes indeed

Cocteau Twins Robin Guthrie sound is in this unit! 🙂
How bout some stereo...kind of left out the other half of the demo.
can you do a comparison of the two Pastfx chorus pedals (Deluxe vs MN3007)
No Limelight chorus part demo? Cmon dude
I scored the mini. Great Chorus.
Is that a Deluxe Player's Strat? Looks and sounds like mine.
It is a Deluxe, well spotted!
Play the Limelight chorus
Are you running into the iridium. I want one of these
I think I did. However when I the Iridium for demos I always use the Fender deluxe setting because that's my main clean amp I would use.
👍🏿🤘
🤟🏻🤟🏻
can I get some Hendrix/Trower with this?
Hendrix and Trower used Vibe not chorus.

I'm not so sure any more. He uses the CE-1 today, I tried the new Pastfx FX65 clone recently and it sounds closer.
@@JasonAyalaSpare im actually trying to decide between that and the Chorus ensemble. Hard choice. The fx 65 was my first ever experience with a stereo chorus back in the late 80s
Small Stone is a phaser my man. John used the FX65 on BSSM, CE-1 everywhere else.
@@adamnesbitt11 Meant clone, sorry
Is that you're playing at 7:31 an actual song? Could you give me the name please? Thanks!
Sorry man, it's not. Maybe I should turn it into a song 🎵. Funk is my happy place.
your thoughts on mn 3002?

your video is clipping alot
great sound, but why it doesn't have a dry/wet button?, why!!?
It has wet/dry outputs like the original.
Ok, Where is it?, i mean to dry/wet like in a reverb pedal, i dont think it has one
When using the stereo outputs the left carries the modulated signal and the right carries the dry signal.

Should've spent more than 20 seconds on the vibrato.😕
Yeah, I did a video about the deluxe version (with the same chip as the original CE-1), I spent more time on the vibrato.
