Great tutorial Francisc. Just what I needed to make dynamics objects. Now I only need to learn how to use Grasshopper better :-)

I'm going to purchase soon the Visual ARQ tools. Please keep supporting this initiative. Parametric architecture should be easy and fast to produce giving the highest level of flexibility.

What blows my mind is that I can construct and edit my own library objects. This is strict BIM. This makes BIM design intuitive and Revit ultra powerful. I purchased the tool for this exact reason.

Why do I only show a few parameters when I'm import grasshopper into VisualARQ

Amazing features! This is very cool! did you guys try it with intensive use of GH styles in "large" models with per-instance parameter variations?

Hi Angel, we have tried this in many different models. What does "large models" mean for you? . File or model size should not be a problem to have multiple instances of objects created with VisualARQ Grasshopper styles.

    •  3 года назад

Hey! just curious around the tech used to run the GH def and if there is any sort of parallel execution of the definitions to solve high number of instances using GH styles. One example could be the curtain wall facade panels of a high-rise building generated using GH styles, something around 10K instances with different parameter values.

@ Well, the model size and performance will be nearly the same as if you had the same geometry createdw with Rhino polysurfaces or extrusions. Well, it will be a bit more (maybe 10-15%) since those objects have more data on them than Rhino geometry. When two VisualARQ objects have the same features (type, style, dimensions, etc...) they share the same block definition.

Is it possible to include in the VisualARQ styles nodes or functions of other GH plugins?

Hi Gabriele, yes, that's possible. But take into account that these objects will only work in Rhino sessions that have those GH plugins installed.

In visualarq2 how can we add new profiles to use for columns or other things? because only thing I need is a fillet rectangle profile that I can use with all other visualarq object components, such as when I do a railing and use rectangle profile I wanna use fillet rectangle or when ı use a column object, ı wanna use fillet column so I wont need other software to bevel them. I think filleted profiles is really need to be given included in visualarq,
Is there any way to find location of visual arq files that has profiles? and then I can edit rectangle profile to add fillet option in grasshopper?
I look for a way to create parametric profiles that I can expose its parameters when ı choose that profile inside railing or column components. Not just a fixed profile from a drawing.

Hi @Ericaandmac, the only way to create objects from custom parametric profiles is through the Grasshopper styles. Otherwise, you can just create "fix" custom profiles with the command _vaProfileFromCurve (or from the Profile Manager in VisualARQ 3 ruclips.net/video/obVjlJv-tmc/видео.htmlsi=fr7iAX3M841XS_y_), and use them for columns, railings, openings, etc... In this video you can see how to create a new beam style with a custom profile. The process for a column is the same: ruclips.net/video/3RIijT04Na0/видео.htmlsi=SzHIhwDPN_XNlxzj

@@VisualARQ so does that mean, by grasshopper styles for example I need to create new column object with new profile so it will be parametric but I cant add new parametric grasshopper profiles to profile list to use for any object that require a profile?
If thats the case, in visualarq3, will there be any update to built-in parametric visualarq profiles so we can have fillet rectangle (without having to create a grasshopper style differently for each object type) or will there be any way to add new parametric profiles from parametric grasshopper definitions in profile manager? because its really essential to benefit from profiles in components of other objects like railing etc.

@@Ericaandmac Yes, for the GH styles, you define the column profile shape with parameters that you can edit afterward from the columns styles dialog or the column object properties. We can add a "corner fillet radius" parameter for system rectangular profiles in future versions (so you don't need to create GH styles for that), but not in VisualARQ 3.

@@VisualARQ Ohh okay thank you for clarification, now I fully understand :)) I ll be looking forward to Visualarq 4 then :))))
