I am a huge fan of Sarah Marino as a person and as a photographer. Her work is so connected and uniquely hers. This conversation is so important. Thank you Beth and Sarah.
@@thecoleandjohnshow7236 Ha! I figured that was you, John. As you know, I'm in full agreement about how amazing Sarah is 🙂. Thanks for listening in and sharing (and re: using your show channel, I'm intentionally commenting as Pixels in some cases, figure it's another way to get the channel out there?!? Can't hurt, might help!)
I loved this talk! Sarah definitely connects to the natural world. Her work is incredibly beautiful. It is always helpful to hear a professional talk about the struggles they have and how they work through them. Also, it was helpful to listen to the dialogue regarding confidence building. Some people, such as myself, are really reluctant to show anyone their photographs. It’s scary! I am a fan of Sarah. I have several of her books. She has helped me tremendously with gaining confidence in my photography and with many other aspects of photography. All of that to say, thank you for this great episode!
Woohoo! Thank you, Susan, for sharing what you took away from the conversation. I'm with you in having found confidence in my photography through lessons learned from Sarah. It's so helpful when accomplished creatives share their challenges. I hope that if you decide you want to do more sharing of images, you experience satisfaction from giving folks a glimpse of how you uniquely see the world.
Tasmania is absolutely stunning, and I can imagine there's a delicate dance between sharing and preserving the beauty. I'm glad you found resonance with this, Andrew... thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this type of content, the discussions are interesting and engaging. I look forward to future interviews. So much better than listening to gear reviews and tips on editing 😉
I'm so impressed by this channel (first time here) and with Sarah! What an incredible example she is for all of us! I so relate to her on many levels - For one, I have an incredibly busy mind and have been a practitioner of meditation for many years. I have always gravitated toward street photography and portraits but since the pandemic, landscapes and nature have sucked me in and help me calm the mind. I looked at Sarah's website and the photos really are so beautiful! It feels like a confirmation that I'm heading in that similar direction. Also, I dabbled in so many things yet the camera is my #1 way of seeing the world. I'm also challenged by feeling sustained because I am motivated by a sense of mission. I also am not naturally as suited for the competitive photographic environment. Substack has helped with that. I like the idea of conservation work/non-profit work is a very good one that I've considered and still considering. SO much more to comment on but will leave it there. Glad I found your channel!
Welcome!! I so appreciate everything you shared. I hope you continue to reflect on what resonated and how it might inspire you moving forward. You might have noticed, Sarah has a lot of resources on her website... her generosity is a gift to us all. And here's to the channel being an ongoing source of inspiration for you! Happy you're here 🙂
@veejaymexico4840 You're welcome! So glad you enjoyed it :-) RE: the like and comment meter, do you mean the count showing up? Or is it something else? Thanks for any additional info.
I love Sarah and her work! Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome, Nick! Glad to know another Sarah fan 🙂
I loved this conversation with Sarah!!
Thanks, Martha! We could have talked all day, I suspect. Watch for an encore episode in 2025!

Trying to preserve the wilderness heritage areas here in Tasmania is such an urgent issue. Your discussion on reciprocity is such a pertinent one!
