Wow! This is a hidden pearl, I never knew you went to Moab with David, I think I didn"t check RUclips that often in 2017, I am happy I looked into the older videos today and found this !!
It's not much worse than Freiburger's (Roadkill). At least in body. Hopefully the engine isn't as bad off. Edit: I may have spoken too soon about the body. Wow, the underside. Still hopeful for the engine. And the engine is pretty good sounding.
Love seeing and old machine get some love and come back to life, but I'm not confident in the integrity of the body, the frame, or the OEM radiator. Rust never sleeps, and that Jeep has many years on it!
It's pretty cool because it has that old re-repainted Jeep patina and a bunch of original outdated components. Here I am thinking my YJ is too cramped and rough riding to drive it 1000 miles out west. If'n he makes it to Moab, he's going to need a helmet and/or some moar rollover protection. Maybe a winch and some junk. Are you guys picking up any sponsors? 5.38s?
8:18 I recomend putting a little steel or other material to form what is missing from the structureand make a form, then get an apoxy that hardens like steel and pour it in. An apoxy with fiberglass may be the answer. The ideal is to save what is there even if rusted rather than to cut out, which is another option.
get a book and educate yourself on these flat fenders, hands on only goes so far before stupid avoidable mistakes happen..dont use hockey pucks for mounts..they will split with pressure because pucks are wound for side impact, not top..and for fucks sake stop calling it a car,its not
La voiture me semble fort rouillée, dans ce cas une mise à poil (démontage complet) s'impose. Le levier des vitesse dur, erreur de montage? , à revoir....
Sorry but you guys will have to take second place for the worst jeep. I pulled the body off my 49 2-A physically in three rusty pieces and then I bought a used body. Throw that junk motor away! It's grossly underpowered, Put disc brakes on the fron and terplace the steering with Saginaw and a tilt GM column. A Buick V/6 makes a very good engine and it's not so powerful it will eat the gearbox.
hahahah wow. I honestly can't believe it. The flat fender content... it's beyond played out for those of us who watch Motor Trend stuff, and especially for people like me who pay for on demand. I will try to watch this series as I'm sure there will be more in-depth wrenching stuff than you'd get with a 30 minute MTOD video but my point stands. The automotive video content space is oversaturated with flat fenders right now. They're cool but they're not THAT cool. And I say that as someone who loves helping my friends wrench on their XJ cherokees every weekend. Sorry to be such a hater I know this is free content so I should STFU but still... you'd think someone who is trying to grow their youtube channel would focus on being unique instead of jumping on the bandwagon. There is another flat fender video in the suggestions tab right now as I'm typing this...
I still don't know how DT found a landlord that puts up with him. That kitchen, the driveway, the garage, the backyard. It's nuts.
No leather belt bearings?
you need David Freighburger and Fred Williams of Motor Trend as back up lol

I learned how to drive in a jeep just like this when I was 9years old... ahhh, that sound sure brings back memories
I would highly recommend an overdrive unit if you're going to be driving that on the highway.
Karl Schroen x2. It needs and overdrive.
Freiburger and RoadKill might loan them one. facebook.com/DavidFreiburger/
Karl Schroen iis
Noticed drive flanges, Lockout hubs make a huge difference on highway,,,

"behind that garage door is my most daunting project ever..." I assume you mean David? I dunno Tavarish I think he is still salvageable....
I just did a transmission and transfer case on my channel... much easier with them on the bench.! Nice to see progress.
u guys have a talent of rebuilding transmissions. I had to pay someone to do mine trucks transmission because I don't mess with that
Favorite of your videos so far. Love following David and projectslowdevil. Keep em coming.
What is this? Roadkill?
AH!!! This is bringing back so many memories. Rebuild one of these with my dad :)
Why in the world would you NOT take the T90 out of the jeep to do the rebuild correctly?

man. you helped save DT's willys.
I have a old cj jeep with a blown out clutch from highschool and I worry it may be too far gone with all the rust it has
its a beauty please restore the Willys jeep a piece of American history.
Really cool even for jeep. But that's why I love the fj40 get you a better ride
This is so funny! And Tavarish are you a smoker? Your eyes looked cooked! 😂
Just started the video 30 seconds ago so if you already left I apologize, but I can come help work it if you guys need a hand I live local
64 1/2 - 67 Mustang 2+2? If you ever have a pain in the a car it's nice to have a Jeep on the side that's easy to fix.
Dave must love punishment 1800 miles in that blender, good luck dude.
Are you guys gonna be fixing up the body/frame?

I have one word: Tow Insurance.
Man that music go louder quick. I hope someone doesn't fall through the floor.
What is under the tarp?
This is why you needed a California car instead. Although I'm from California and very biased because of the car culture here.
Who are you and why is Chris from B Is For Build mentioning you?
I have some videos on rebuilding the T90 and D18 if you need em :), you be the judge hope they help.
WHAT IS A TRASFER BOX???????
La voiture me semble fort rouillée, dans ce cas une mise à poil (démontage complet) s'impose.

Its like their budget was 1 dollar.

Your automotive knowledge seems very limited.
And yet 6.5 Creedy, he probably has had a lot more time than you wrenching. Funny, isn't it?
