Superb lesson for jazz players. For me, about many choices of extensions for dominant 5, but limited in minor, is very helpful. Thanks Tony.

I found out recently the beauty of 9th extensions instead of 7th chords which I also use here and there. Is there something wrong to have this progression all made with 9th extensions? A#m9/Fm9/C#maj9/D#m9 I'm using chord inversion and different voicing on chords, I also play them like rootless chords and let the bass to play root notes. Thanks

My question is, for the simplicity of thinking, could we think left hand and right hand as separate chords, for example, for 5 dominant on left hand, on right hand we play 3 dominant, 2 major/minor, etc. Playing two different chords at the same time. Rather than looking for every possibility of extensions, we often do not have time to think about it in actual play on different key.
