'Has it ever been home?': Kasper Schmeichel takes aim at England

- Опубликовано: 13 сен 2024
- Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel playfully responded with a journalist during a press conference ahead of his team's semi-final match against England on Wednesday. The Leicester City keeper was asked by a reporter 'what it would mean to stop it coming home?'. Schmeichel responded by asking 'has it ever been come? I don't know, have you ever won it?'. Much to the amusement of teammate Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

Great response to a stupid question. I'm English and want us to trounce the Danes, but to think they're more focused on 'preventing England' rather than doing it for their own country is insulting. Classy response.
Journalist didn't show the respect earned. Both son and father are legends in English football. If he was not playing against the English national team, I'm sure he and Denmark would have the support of the English.

Well said Kasper. Nice way to stop this arrogance
@Maria Lees that's the problem. It is not historically proved that England invented football. Some say Scottish did some even say it was the Chinese. Yet you decide to call England home of football.
And 1 more thing. My issue is how this journalist asks the question, "how do you stop it from coming home?", as if England is the absolute favourite of winning the cup or as if England has won 10 Euro cups before. You call it relentless optimism, I call it unfunded arrogance. For a country that has not won a single Euro title, in my opinion, the right approach is to keep your head down, stay humble and things will come your way eventually.
@@andygarcia96736
The Chinese definetely didn't invent modern football bro. Am ancient game that somehow uses the foot as a way of moving a ball is not modern football.
@Maria Lees
The sentiment initiated well, but football's home has never been England.
Football home is where the Big Four play. The big four are Italy, Germany, Argentina, and Brazil. Those are the real owners of football.
England is but a tiny nation with no importance in football's history beyond an act of robbery in 1966. Even Mexico and Chile have more importance than England.
So it's actually in Rome and Buenos Aires as of now. It is Home!!!!🇮🇹🇦🇷🇮🇹🇦🇷🇮🇹🇦🇷🇮🇹🇦🇷

The underlying assumption of the journalist is: everything is about England and their "coming home" obsession. All countries stay awake at night worrying about England.
