Kind of a silly question coming your way…Typically, how long does it take you guys to put out a song, meaning from conception to production to distribution. Do you start with the music first then do lyrics, or is it the other way around? Or do you guys work on it as it comes to you? I’m just curious. 🙂
you have to write the song first (time depends on your skills and inspiration) then production which can take 8 to 50 hours and then mixing and mastering which van take 8 to 16 hours
It depends on the song! Usually Gabe and I brainstorm concepts first. Then I’ll start production and top line ideas. Once I have a few demos I’ll send them to Gabe and he will choose his favorite and start writing the lyrics and additional melodies. Then we’ll meet back together, finalize the top line and lyrics and record all the vocals. Then I’ll finish production around the vocals and mix and master. While I’m mixing and mastering Gabe will make the artwork. Then we’ll upload for distribution. All in all it takes about a week from concept to upload.
@@Baasikmusic blitzing speed, as expected of you two. seriously I've been listening since about 2012 and you guys have done great for yourselves, so happy to see this is where y'all turned out. hope it's going well, all things considered. (was just listening to your old song 'cavern' lol)
Man, I wish everyone would create videos like this. I really appreciate the tutorial though I've only picked up FruityLoops and Ableton when I was a teen. It's still fascinating to watch the craftsmanship. Great work and I can't wait to hear more from you!
Dude I’m so glad there was a tutorial for this. This is literally my favorite song and I love the 1920s feel! Could you make a tutorial on how you did the “tell me do you demons bleEeEeEEeEd” thing? That was my favorite part! I love your music, thanks so much for this video!
It's impressive and inspiring to see the that, thank you Nate and also the recent remixes of Insane that you did was a blast to watch, they are really well made and fun
How do can I learn to sound design dubstep basses like that? What advice can you give to me and others? Also, can you make a video about how you guys made "Stuck Inside" song?
While I know this video is fairly old, this appears the best way to contact you. I've been singing for just about eight years now, and I've always wanted to do more with my voice. So my question for you is what your recommendation would be if I wanted to learn start music production and songwriting. Or more specifically, what DAW would you recommend getting started with?
Hoping you (or anyone!) can answer this, what audio sample was used at the very beginning of this song if you listen on Spotify? The radio tuning/static, specifically. Thanks!
BRAVO!! Unbelievable Nate!! I knew you put some work into that song But, I had 'No Idea' how much production! Do you produce others? (on a very casual basis/no rush?) I know you & Gabe etc. have a lot going on now but, I would really love to discuss at least a a few future songs that I'd be so grateful to have you produce. Thx!
how did you make the awesome midi/how long did that take? do you have any tricks for composing entire songs like that, that don't have only 1 or 2 melodies?
Hey dude! I use them both equally. Most of the time I run my vocal through cl1b before going into the box and I’ll use settings similar to how I’d set up the 1176. But if I’m not running through the cl1b I’ll use an 1176 first on my chain before eq and then into the la2a. The only time I’ll use cl1b into 1176 and NOT use la2a is for acoustic songs where the vocal doesn’t need to push forward as much in the mix. But that’s just me! I could be doing it completely wrong haha
@@Baasikmusic makes total sense. Didn't realize you were running a CL1B. Very nice. I've been running into the 1176 fairly hot and then hitting it again with that 2A to really push the lead vocal out to the front. Can definitely see you not needing that extra push when you strip some things back. You run an F6 or anything to help clear up some EQ when the vocal really pushes it or you try to notch most of that out on your channel EQ?
Really like these types of videos. It´s very interesting for me how everything fits together perfectly and creates a great song. 🙂 What other song? Maybe Magic? Or another Diamond song. (Not related to the music, but i really like how you used to write "love u" at the end of the descriptions. It makes me feel like you're closer to your fans.)
@@Baasikmusic thanks for answer! Although i was more interested in the resampling and chopping part. Do you just do 'random' bass parts, bounce them, and just go through the samples and chop the parts you like?
some of the individual reacks sound like awefull by themselves cause they are either cut off high or low, and that's just surprising to me cuz when added with the other tracks it sounds amazing. I guess you have to remove some sound off the top so it doesn't interfere with others? idk I have never seen this before. Usually like the vocals or drums and what not sound perfectly fine by themselves in songs. I hope you know what I mean with my comment
Can u show us how you also made “Stuck Inside” I love that song and I wanna know how it was made! :)

Genuinely one of my favorite songs of all time, so cool to get a behind the scenes look!

Yo Baasik your music is soo fun to listen too. I love how you work with your brother too. Thanks for the music you and Gabe provide us.
BRO THE DROP IS SO FIRE
Great job as always! 😎👍
Edit : #DDR pick a part IMmortalized. It'd be fun to break down that song and perhaps a little bit of history behind it. 😊
OK BUT THIS IS REALLY INSANE. Just came from the cover version and OMFG😍❤️

Omg, you're back! I love your stuff and I hope to hear more from you! Love ya, Nate! ❤
I don't know why youtube recommended this.. Or breakdown of what I'm seeing but I enjoyed it. O
And also did you make the vocals or black gryphon
BlackGryph0n sang
This was fascinating to look at! It would be super cool if you could do a similar breakdown of Stuck Inside.
Thank you so much for this, man.
Can you make a behind the scene about what you need?

Yes, indeed that was insane! Wow thanks for showing behind the curtian - amazing track
Are you perchance going to post the instrumental of Magic? I can't find it anywhere, love you guys' music, been listening since middle school.

Could you make a more detailed video on how exactly you make those dubstep basses? On the process of it. Sounds interesting.
I’ll tell you right now that the first step is to browse serum presets in splice haha. Then tweak tweak tweak.
