Ever clean a room and while cleaning you make things worse? Things will get cleaned up. We are in alpha still. Things will always get better and worse until game comes out.
my problem with component HP is they are basically creating a "best in slot" scenario. I feel like they need to make trade-offs for higher HP but reduced efficiency of the component, otherwise ships will just rock the highest value component without a second thought. I feel some components shouldnt compatible (maybe make military grade ones non compatible for civilian grade ships) OR if they do, they take a penalty. CIG really need to get this under wraps and start fleshing it out
@@infinitespace239 Well that doesn't seem right to me. Apart from the fact that 324 HP is extremely low, I don't think you should be taken out if only the QD component is disabled...

I switched from Deadbolts to Tarantulas... Less overall dps but they fire about 4-5 times the shots before overheat whereas the Deadbolts pretty much start overheating after 3-4 shots. After testing I think you get a much higher sustained dps over time than with the Deadbolts which you are constantly waiting for cool downs.
@@Nonsense-hg6mo DPS doesn't matter when your guns are too hot to fire a good bit of time. Tarantulas put out more consistent damage as they are not overheating constantly. Over time this makes for more DPS because you are getting more shots on target and your cool downs are much much less of your overall time on target. Deadbolts do massive damage for about 5 shots then go to shit because that is all you get before overheat. Deadbolts are the garbage here.
@@Brenelael that's bullshit though. Deadbolts take 1.5 seconds to completely cool down. They have the same fire rate the tarantulas do but do triple the damage per shot. You're just wrong guy. Deadbolt sustained DPS is literally double the tarantulas. That's a fact. Whatever testing you did you fucked it up.
@@Nonsense-hg6mo They do not have the same fire rate... That alone tells me you don't have a clue... DPS is raw damage of the weapon over one second. DPS calculations do not take into account cool down times. So during the course of an entire fight while you are having to stop for 1.5 seconds 10-15 times with Deadbolts I'm only down maybe 3-4 times for 1.5 seconds. That's 15-22 seconds you are putting out 0 DPS while I'm only down for maybe 3-6 seconds with Tarantulas. This is why over the course of an entire fight I'm going to out DPS you. I'm talking minutes of continuous damage output where you are talking about 1 freaking second of damage output. Oh and the damage output of Deadbolts is nowhere near triple that of Tarantulas. At size 3 a Tarantula does 506 DPS where a Deadbolt 3 does 843 DPS. Also the fire rate of Tarantulas is 200 and Deadbolts are 100... Maybe you should get a clue before you wade into a discussion.

Grade A and Military should always have more health to survive combat. Granted all these health stats are temporary, but they are a mess and all should be higher across the board.
just like all military and governments, they buy from the lowest bidders on all things. so the military components cost more but would not use the best materials to manufacture them, so they have less health. civilian and stealth are optional and you can bet ships with them pay for them when they buy the ship. i am curious like others how you managed to figure out it was the quantum drive causing you death and how they were damaging it instead of the hull health
I noticed that my F7A gets easily soft death. Than someone said in comments that weapons have HP now. So I figured maybe it same with components, Google it and yeah 100 results about it. o7
VK-00 having fewer hp is probably a flaw, because if you look at Siren below, military grad B (almost as fast as the VK-00), has 1150. You also see that the Beacon, grade C military, has 324 hp. That seems like an error to me. They're the only ones with that low hp. It can also make sense that grade A components have fewer hp, as they may be more experimental and prone to malfunctions (in the long run that is, currently they just destroy you, which is not the intent of the final designs I'd wager). But yeah, avoid VKs and Beacons for now, that much is clear.
For some reason its's the stock items on a number of ships like Arrow, Gladius, various Hornets, Scorpius etc. Feels like a bad code merge to me. Edit: found the issue council report, STARC-115266

its as broken as every other newly released ship. they intentionally make it overpowered to push sales. then when the next ship comes out tada the old one gets nerfed and the new one is overpowered. been this pattern for years.
