Just so you know, I have been using Air Pods Pro 2 for assisted hearing for several months. I watched a video, got Air Pods Pro 2 and set them up with an audiogram test called mimi and then 10,000 other settings on my iPhone and use them as I think iOS 18 will allow. What I want to know is do I have to get new Air Pods Pro 2 or not for the new release. Do you know? It has worked well for me. I have encouraged many to try it.
I missed this, sorry. And you got a better answer because of it. Excellent. I still like the idea of you using this technology for covert spying. I don't know why I can picture that.
I'm definitely looking forward the improved hearing assistive features for the AirPods Pro 2. I don't want "AI" rewriting me, at all. Proofreading is of interest though. I don't want "AI" messing about with my photos, either, though improving the object identification is of interest.
I am deeply impressed by the hearing stuff. Not sure I've got the nerve to take the test, but if I also buy AirPods -- on top of the phone and Watch I've ordered -- then I'll brave it, certainly.
@@WilliamGallagher I have made it to the evening so far today on new sparkling iPhone pre-order day. I need to remain strong and not succumb to my Apple Addiction.
I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and small hands that no longer function as they did when my phone was new. A while ago I decided my next phone would be smaller, reasoning that the Max's better camera features are of no use if I can't click the button(s) and hold the phone still at the same time. I still miss my old Android phones that allowed me to take clear photos just by saying the word "Whiskey" while holding the phone with both hands and not trying to fumble around to press a button on the screen. The new camera button may solve that issue for me, but I'll need to actually test it in person. The other benefit of a smaller phone? It will fit in my pockets easier! Sadly, it will make my wallet much lighter. I'm thinking maybe come Christmas time...
Okay, since Gordon has the practical answer about using Shortcuts, let's all focus instead on the really important issue: why did you choose the word "Whisky"?
@@WilliamGallagher Because no matter the location, people will instinctively turn towards me with some kind of expression of anticipation. And if you ask a group of people in a pub to say 'whisky', it puts their mouths in the same position as the word cheese, but they'll have a glint in in their eye at the mere thought. Yes, it's a party trick but the photos are great! I have pre-ordered an iPhone Pro - I look forward to an easier time holding and using the phone.

There needs to be better mouse support on the iPhone (for us crazy bastards who dare use such a small screen to write in Apple Notes or iA Writer with a keyboard when away from their Mac. Maybe I should just get an iPad and downgrade to a smaller iPhone so my pants don’t bulge for the wrong reasons.
Well. Anyway. I'm working on a 58keys about writing on the phone with the smallest external keyboard I know, but I hadn't thought about mice at all. Hmm.

I believe it is a firmware update. They pushed one out yesterday, so once you have iOS 18 you should be good to go.
@@GordonRunklePhoto Thank you for this.

Pah! I have WILL POWER -- it took me a whole day longer than you to order one.

Siri can do that for you, if you create a shortcut. It's quite simple to do and there are a number of articles that show how to.
Excellent point.

Having 15 pro Max can’t see any sense in upgrading.
Don't say that: I've just ordered an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Although I'm coming from an iPhone 15 Pro, so I will literally see a difference, I suppose.
