I'm glad technology got to the point where Danny can do this again without damaging his ears more.

@@bce6936 His hearing got pretty damaged from performing live in years past. Things have reached a point where an artist can perform live in front of a giant crowd and still protect their ears now. I don't know how, I'm just happy he was able to do this again. He said before that it would not happen. I'm crossing my fingers for another Halloween Oingo Boingo concert. =)

@@mrmaxcarter2306 In-ear monitors. Lowers the stage volume so that you can hear what's going on without having it deafen you. Nothing can compensate for shredded vocal cords, though.

Who GAF about how many songs he played??? I was shrooming my balls off and this dude put on the best show I've seen in 40yrs of partying at hundreds of different shows all over the globe, Nancy.
@Michael Lewis he's already talking about going on tour but logistics might be a problem. He might have to downsize the brass but I suspect you should watch for him touring the cities on the insane globe we live on. Way to much $$$ on the table to say no. After all he sold out the bowl 2 nights in a row......let's hope. I'll fly another 6k miles but unfortunately it won't be on a Halloween with everyone in costume. Dame what a show!!!! EPIC

Wow wow! I had no idea he's a rock singer. Such versatile skills with music! Being also a movie soundtrack composer and all.
Holy effing sh!+ - he's BACK 🤩 More than a few times he expressed a disdain for the years of Oingo Boingo as being wild and childish so I never thought I'd see them on stage again. I feel sorry for those who weren't there back when this was new, you can't understand just how groundbreaking and awesome they were. And seems he's still got it.

Burton himself understood his characters were damaged by drugs and other stuff and I suspect thats what happened to Danny, drugs.

@@Jucelegario I doubt it. I've *NEVER* got the impression that Danny used drugs, far from it. He's had nearly half a century of continuous success (as in no long periods of having to walk away for rehab). He's also had a very stable marriage with children for 20 years to Bridget Fonda.

Thanks for posting. This was an epic show - I attended Saturday with my 18 yo daughter who is also a fan. A once in a lifetime experience of classic boingo that I grew up with, elfman’s new solo material, and his many well known movie scores all mixed together by dozens of musicians on stage in a tapestry of fun. Truly unique and unforgettable!
It must be a chore for him to narrow down what to put in his concerts.
My wife saw Boingo in probably 87 when they played "Mex Fest" in Tijuana.
And damn, 35 years later we're taking our 21 n 23 y/o daughters to see Danny on August 3rd here in San Diego.

Nice ! I was " only a lad " when I was overwhelmed by the sound of the bones. Johnny "Vatos" Hernandez was the drummer, who I think made and played the bones instrument back in the 80s. Our small group of club goers in Santa Cruz CA loved Oingo Boingo !

I'm not sure. But he may be wearing small but very effective hearing protection.

Of all the many weird incarnations of Danny Elfman, long-haired, muscled, tattoo'd, guyliner Carrot Top-meets-Trent Reznor look is not what I was expecting for a guy who's almost 70 for fuck's sakes. Certainly beats being a gray-haired, wrinklefest most guys his age have, but man it's still strange to see.
Hell I give the guy his flowers. He looks fantastic for his age, and he's playing fucking Oingo Boingo songs again! That's something I thought would never happen.
This is what cutting sugar, intermittent fasting and cardio every day will do to you.
Oingo Boingo put out, I think, 8 albums. Then he did, again I think, 1 solo.
Then he spent 30 plus years composing amazing movie scores.
So him getting back on stage isn't really a reunion tour, just Oingo music reset, or a blast from the past.
To me it feels like a fresh new performance.
Or a sample of his work from 1978 right up to the present
