@@bce6936 His hearing got pretty damaged from performing live in years past. Things have reached a point where an artist can perform live in front of a giant crowd and still protect their ears now. I don't know how, I'm just happy he was able to do this again. He said before that it would not happen. I'm crossing my fingers for another Halloween Oingo Boingo concert. =)

He might have to downsize the brass but I suspect you should watch for him touring the cities on the insane globe we live on. Way to much $$$ on the table to say no. I feel sorry for those who weren't there back when this was new, you can't understand just how groundbreaking and awesome they were. And seems he's still got it.

He's had nearly half a century of continuous success (as in no long periods of having to walk away for rehab). He's also had a very stable marriage with children for 20 years to Bridget Fonda. Thanks for posting. This was an epic show - I attended Saturday with my 18 yo daughter who is also a fan. A once in a lifetime experience of classic boingo that I grew up with, elfman’s new solo material, and his many well known movie scores all mixed together by dozens of musicians on stage in a tapestry of fun. Truly unique and unforgettable!
It must be a chore for him to narrow down what to put in his concerts. My wife saw Boingo in probably 87 when they played "Mex Fest" in Tijuana. And damn, 35 years later we're taking our 21 n 23 y/o daughters to see Danny on August 3rd here in San Diego.
I couldn’t keep my ass seated but everyone next to me was like tranquilized or something. The poor guy next to me even let me whack him with my glowing toy syringe (I was a mad scientist for Halloween)
Nice ! I was " only a lad " when I was overwhelmed by the sound of the bones. Johnny "Vatos" Hernandez was the drummer, who I think made and played the bones instrument back in the 80s. Our small group of club goers in Santa Cruz CA loved Oingo Boingo !

Of all the many weird incarnations of Danny Elfman, long-haired, muscled, tattoo'd, guyliner Carrot Top-meets-Trent Reznor look is not what I was expecting for a guy who's almost 70 for fuck's sakes. Certainly beats being a gray-haired, wrinklefest most guys his age have, but man it's still strange to see.
Hell I give the guy his flowers. He looks fantastic for his age, and he's playing fucking Oingo Boingo songs again! That's something I thought would never happen.
Oingo Boingo put out, I think, 8 albums. Then he did, again I think, 1 solo. Then he spent 30 plus years composing amazing movie scores. So him getting back on stage isn't really a reunion tour, just Oingo music reset, or a blast from the past. To me it feels like a fresh new performance. Or a sample of his work from 1978 right up to the present
Yeah, I know he has a successful solo career & all but if he can do what we see here without further damaging the ears, why not an Oingo reunion finally?
He still works with Steve Bartok (sp). But a Oingo reunion only playing Oingo music might be limiting. He's got 30+ years of non Oingo music to draw on. And he's doing oingo songs in his current shows.
