As the ladies would say, "That part!" Music is universal, it has no color significance, that's why they categorize music in genre's b/c any nationality may like it, which is why we have the Bobby Caldwell's, Stevie Wonder's, Steve Perry'sl, Michael, Burt Bacharach's, ...to bring the world together! But most are missing it, just like they are missing Jesus! Like one of Bobby's songs that I like "Open Your Eyes".
I'm so glad I was born at the height of this legendary artist singing the hit that crossed all racial barriers. I don't know a single person that doesn't know this song word for word. Rest in Peace. You've left a standard music that is still celebrated to this day
I always said the 70s were our crossroads. Unfortunately lately it’s taken the wrong turn. A lot of it has to do with rap and gangster image. All nationalities loved Motown and R&B.
I have toured i performed with r&b artists 47 years. I love your comment & THANK YOU Appreciation my bros performing from Benson to Jackson family, bless you ...i am Polish ..Lucky me
I’m 29 years old. I’ll never forget the first time I heard this song. I was in my grandmothers kitchen watching this performance right here. It woke something up in me. It’s when I realized I have an "old soul". Ever since I saw this all those years ago, 'What You Won’t Do For Love' would randomly play in my head. I absolutely fell in love with this song in 2013 and I still love it now.
Me too - I was probably 8 or 9 and Dad would play The Stylistics or Earth Wind and Fire or D.Warwick or Roberta Flack. I knew then that I was not going to be like my mates who were probably playing Pearl Jam and or Metallica (nothing wrong with that) just my journey opened me up to Marvin and Al Green and so many more. Then by 14 I had kids asking me to make mixtapes of different funk artists. It was all about the Funk.. 😆

we are truly blessed to have recorded music. we can read reviews of performances of ancient greek and roman musicians, but we do not know what that ancient greek music actually sounded like. bobby caldwell is thankfully different.
I know a couple people have given props to the saxophonist, but I really enjoyed his performance along with Bobby. His performance on stage is captivating cuz he does more than just play instrument He's smooth with how he compliments Bobby. Even in the music though, every time Bobby sings the saxophonist stops but once Bobby is holding out a note or not singing the saxophonist is taking over for the empty space left by Bobby. It's like a duet.

Well I'm in a daze from your love, you see
I came back to let you know

Some people go around the world for love
But they may never find what they dream of
What you won't do, to do for love
You tried everything but you don't give up
In my world only you
Make me do for love what I would not do
My friends wonder what is wrong with me
But I'm in a daze from your love, you see
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can't let go
But then I only want the best, it's true
I can't believe the things I do for you
What you won't do, do for love
You've tried everything but you won't give up
In my world, only you make me do for love what I would not do
Make me do for love what I would not do
Make me do for love what I would not do
