I love Super Lady, but honestly I think it kinda needs to be 3mins+. I want songs to be longer again! A lot of new songs end up feeling incomplete to me cause they're just a bit too short.
@@emanymton713 Idk about all song averages, but the vast majority of IDLE songs before Queencard are 3+ minutes, but after Queencard a ton of their songs are 2.30-40 instead, meaning we do lose quite a lot of time compared to their older stuff.
I started listening kpop in 2009 but I used to listen to songs released before 2009 so I could understood what is kpop. Each generation, era, I don't know how to call it, the songs feel more empty and I remember in 2017 someone told me this is the case in kpop particularly because fandoms care too much about breaking records they need time to achieve it and that's not possible if the MV (For YT) is too long and the song is long too (Spotify, Melon, etc) and I think this makes sense. My point of view: kpop fans like to spend their time on Tik Tok and they have a time span of attention so short that you have to catch their attention in 2-3 seconds. I don't like Tik Tok for this reason. I'm old, I'm 26 I like 1 hour and 2 hour videos. I like long songs too but we are living in a world where time span of attention consists of seconds.

I had the same initial reaction as you. Sometimes watching the mv at the same time as the first listen is overwhelming and my brain cant comprehend what I've even heard and it all feels like too much. But the first time I listened to it on Spotify afterwards it hits like a TRUCK and I'm suddenly obsessed.

I really like wife, it feels like a very free MV (meaning it looked like they had fun making it) while super lady looked like they were overworked. Tbf Wife sounds more fun and goofy while super lady just came and made everyone shocked. The problem that I think about this is that super lady has a lack luster of a chorus. YES!! Everybody was mad about the lack of sub, then after reading the translation, I was like: "' Yeah, they didn't put translations on purpose." This would make official the double and controversial meanings since it would be impossible to keep it "safe" when officially translating to English. They left to the internet to figure it out...
I had the same initial reaction as you. Sometimes watching the mv at the same time as the first listen is overwhelming and my brain cant comprehend what I've even heard and it all feels like too much. But the first time I listened to it on Spotify afterwards it hits like a TRUCK and I'm suddenly obsessed.

I really like wife, it feels like a very free MV (meaning it looked like they had fun making it) while super lady looked like they were overworked. Tbf Wife sounds more fun and goofy while super lady just came and made everyone shocked. The problem that I think about this is that super lady has a lack luster of a chorus. The chorus just sound very… simple. Cause all you hear is, “lady, lady, call me super lady”. Also a bridge is missing. Idk why they keep lessening music videos 😭😭 I wish it was back to 3 minutes
