Glad this is a recent comment, I've been looking at this for quite some time, but have been worried about sturdiness. I see your screwed into te stud on the corner, is it super easy to rip off the wall? Nobody shows a vid on the wall mounting way like you have.

Mine starting doing that recently and mine is push button. Combo is correct, even reset as well. I get the click and it does not open reliably. I have 3 of these, all the same age. Only this one acting up. Unfortunately it is very discomforting

Unfortunately my replacement has started having the same issues lately. I just do not trust the bio-metric safes any longer and want something mechanical that works every time regardless of battery or electronic issues.

Thanks Dan. I did but still no dice I called them and left a message. So hopefully I'll get a call Monday. I still don't trust honestly because it still doesn't read prints easily. You may have to scan 5-6 times before it reads. Truthfully I wouldn't mind if they just switched me out for the model with the buttons.

That's why I bought the one with push buttons to unlock.

However, I bought the push button version and I get the click but it never opens anymore. I always have to use the key.

As to how I have the GunVault mounted. I drilled out the holes in the gun safe a bit larger and used six inch lag bolts to secure it to the wall. Its not going anywhere.

Is the issue resolved now? I am looking to buy this safe for my bedroom gun.

Yes, GunVault replaced the defective safe right away. My replacement safe has been working great.

Mine did that , and it will not read my finger print, any of them. Gun vault said to return to Wholesale Hunter. The seller i bought it from. But they will not take it back. After only one month after purchase . Worst piece of crap i ever bought. No more Gun Vault products for me.

+MrAwesome glock Im sorry to hear about the trouble with Gun Vault. I had a completely opposite experience in that they sent me a new gun vault with a return label for my old one. I have not had any issues with the replacement gun vault, but I cannot say that I am totally comfortable trusting my life to a piece of electronics that might fail on me. What I do not is open the gun vault before I go to bed. The LED light goes off after about ten seconds. In the morning, I close and secure it from my kids.

was getting this for my RV not to sure now , better off with standard non electrical lock set.

Mine does the exact same thing. I don't trust it. My wife's fingerprints won't open it at all. And we scanned hers 50 different ways. Going to call guy vault myself. As much as these same things cost this shouldn't be an issue.

Louis, be sure you are not using Lithum 9volt batteries. That I am told was part of the problem that I was having as they are not designed for that much power. GunVault customer service is wonderful and they replaced my GunVault with no questions asked as well as paid for the return postage for the defective unit.

Did you also know you can open this safe with a toothpick? It's total trash.

I think you may have mistaken this one for that POS that amazon was selling for a while

GunVault said it may have been the Lithium battery that I was using. They recommend only using a standard 9 volt battery.

+Chasn The Wind My fairly new 2 shelf GV was doing the same 2 try on battery to open now wont open on Battery at all, discovered while power was out for 8 hours....Im not using a Li battery so guess I need to call them.

+John Cochran I have had no issues with the replacement GV that I was sent. However, right before I go to bed, I just open the GV so that my gun is available. The LED light goes off after a few seconds so it does not eat into the battery. The Gun Vault customer service was terrific and I had my replacement within a few days.

thanks for message back, Im going to try a better quality battery, it seems weak when it trys to unlatch with these sunbeam batteries even tho they are new.
I did call and stay on hold awhile but decided they will probably say try a better battery first.

Clearly you didn't really need it when your home alarm went off... since you made a youtube video. While your figuring the problem has the keys handy?

Do what I hear a lot of people do, leave it locked and closed during the day when your away so then kids cant get into it, then open it before you go to bed so its ready accessible and also then lock your bedroom door so kiddo's can't come in to your room and get at it. And if that gun happens to also be your CCW then you would have it on you during the day and evening anyways so you needn't be any big hurry to try and open the vault.

    • @taoyeahright
      @taoyeahright 4 года назад

I've been thinking about this too, just get a big safe that can be opened quickly if need be but if you have CCW then as soon as you get home you have it out on you or as soon as you leave for the day, depending on where you work. That's it. No need for a little speed safe like this, just get a small fort knox maybe for the car?
