Lore notes: Deathwatch is a unique Space Marine chapter that draws its members from other chapters with the specific purpose of eliminating Xenos threats such as Orks and Tyranids. These Space Marines from various chapters are organized into kill teams for missions. This particular kill team consists of a Blood Angel, Dark Angel, Space Wolf, and Black Templar. Titus, who is the kill team leader, is a Deathwatch Black Shield. A Black Shield is a Space Marine that serves in Deathwatch that does not wear a pauldron with their origin chapters heraldry. This can be for various reasons such as the Space Marine's origin chapter rebelled against the Imperium with this lone Space Marine remaining loyal. It is kind of a sort of WitSec for Space Marines that have past circumstances that they would rather not share but can still loyally serve the Imperium. As for the Tyranids, they are guided by the Hive Mind. Some of the Tyranid organisms such as Hormagaunts and Carnifexes require synapse organisms to be nearby to guide them, otherwise, they are just feral beasts acting without direction. Tyranid Warriors are common synapse organisms and as can be observed in gameplay when a Tyranid Warrior is killed, surrounding Hormagaunts will die due to the sudden synaptic backlash caused by the Tyrand Warrior's death.
@@captaincoolbreeze9429 it does not make sense for nids to die due to the synapse creatures being killed. They go feral and may run or attack in a less concerted way. Kill a sorcerer and the rubic marines motionless.. Sure
@@Neithan02 That is true of most Tyranid organisms. The portrayal in game is more for gameplay to represent the sudden loss of synaptic connection. The only Tyranids that I can think that does die without synaptic connection are Rippers.
So yeah, all these tyranids are nothing more than a scout party, a little offshoot of the main force that is invading the Milky Way from below. Tyranids are probably the scariest thing in Warhammer as far as i know. Much like the Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West machines, tyranids consume biomass. All of it, to the minutest life form. After the invasion, the planet is left a barren, lifeless rock and all the fallen tyranid warriors are just reabsorbed and remade, there is always more tyranids. As long as a single tyranid survives, they win. They are super adaptable , the hive mind notes how the individual died and then makes modifications so the same tactics never works twice. Even their ships are organic, just a super sized tyranid. The Imperiums intelligence belives that the galaxy will ultimately fall to the tyranids, unless they find a way to mass exterminate the bastards
Tyranids are super non scary for me. They're just a boring force of nature. It's like fighting fish. They're empty. There's no malice in them. They just want to feed
We need a game that's focused on the Imperial Guard, that's the regular soldiers. The Space Marines may be the tip of the spear, but the Guard are the Hammer of the Imperium. 99% of fighting is done by them. Something like OG Battlefront would have been ideal.
I know nothing about Warhammer. By the end of this game I already know I’m going to be obsessed with the first five minutes of it seriously this is such a fun game
1:58 Anyone remember this green text from a certain RTS that was supposed to be about 40k Universe, but ended up doing its own thing? Cool little detail.
Just found ya from a 8 year old Berserk game ya played 7 years ago. Now I cant tell when you had a deeper voice Now or Then. Keep up the awesome content
He got the OK to do it. Basically, he's promoting the game. Not everyone will watch everything, most will take a sneak peak and buy the game if they like it.
He is a Space Wolf even in the Deathwatch. In the cutscene, the Space Marine that powers up his power axe is Ulfar since he has Space Wolf heraldry on his pauldron.
@captaincoolbreeze9429 It seems that one is a blood angel, one is a Templar, and those to the right of the Leader is a salamander. The other one I can't tell and of course we know who our protagonist is.
Looking like if Gears of War and Demon’s Souls Remake had a baby Wondering if it’s sacrilegious to say that for some people also wondering if it is to wish there was some type of loot that was dropping from these enemies in a Nioh kind of way
Im not gonna lie, i was soo hyped to play this game without any agenda shit. BUT i was soo disapointed of this one, clunky gameplay and boring missions, lack of different enemy. Repetetiv mission!

It makes sense Titus became part of this considering he was accused of heresy in the first game
The real reason for Deathwatch is so players can mix and match their favorite chapters of loyalist marines.

@@captaincoolbreeze9429 yeah, the game does not get 40k right, go figure.
Man has a LP out even before the early release. Must be a member of the Ordo Chronos.
Finished watching the Wukong LP today and now blasting into this freshly posted content!

That was one of the most badass opening sequences I've ever seen.
Awesome game. The sound effects and the music is amazing.

Basically Darktide as the rejects are all ex Soldiers of the Imperial Guard or Psykers.
@@voltaire9176 They tried that with Firewarrior, the legendary halo killer.
@Bartoc1988 I remember rentjng that from blockbuster. Was it seriously labeled a Halo killer? 😂

looks like Astartes worked on this
Hell fuckin yeah
Literally just finished it like 5 minutes ago, absolute great jammer of game.
I like the game but i feel it is a bit to linear for my own personal preference.
Really refreshing graphics though!
I thought titus was part of the grey knights all of a sudden. Then it turned out it was the deathwatch
What ever happend to the first episodes being an hour?
That's generally only with large open-ended games.
anyone else lagging on pc?
Interesting tidbit, if this kill team has a marine named ulfar with fangs I guess he was previously a Space Wolf before he joined the Deathwatch.
He is a Space Wolf even in the Deathwatch. In the cutscene, the Space Marine that powers up his power axe is Ulfar since he has Space Wolf heraldry on his pauldron.
@captaincoolbreeze9429 missed that, thanks for the heads up. Too much "this is awesome" on first watch to notice.
