Monica Barosse Enya Amy Lee's voice doesn't even come close to the former vocalist of Nightwish which can do Opera vocals. as can the lead vocalist of Epica.
I didn't say that the former vocalist cant sing good or that Amy could sing better than her. I just like Amy's voice better thats just my opinion Amy's tone and style of singing sounds better to me.
To me it feels like WATF and Ev are completely different bands. I've been a profound Ev fan for a long long time and I just honestly think they are really different. Ev sounds a lot more elegant and the melody lines are more flowy while WATF is much more energetic and intensely paced. I love the both of them. And you just can't compare Amy and Carly -- one is a Soprano and the other is a Mezzo. The way they hit the notes and sing them are just completely different given the songs have different ranges and basically their tone and timbre are nowhere near each other.

To be honest.. For me only Bury Me Alive and I Will Stay are great songs, the other ones have no personality, sounds like the same song if you compare to others. I listen the album any times.
Alisson Bryan : I don't really agree, but that's a personal opinion. The album was pretty to me. Carly is a talented vocalist, it's just to bad they haven't done anything since. This song to me shows that their was a lot of potential for this band, they have great live presence and Carly matches her album sound almost perfectly.

she has a deeper range than amy but not the Highest ranges like amy . and her high falsettos are much edgier & rougher than amy amys are so much more sharp and pronounced,, both are great in their own right ,, but quite different. Plus Amy is from the states , Carly is from Ireland :) Carly Riminds me of a Mix of Grace Slick and Anne Wilson,, for us older people :) for your younger people Grace Slick was the lead singer of Jefferson Airplane/Starship,, and Anne Wilson is the Lead singer for Heart

There is no point in comparing Evanescence and We are the Fallen. I enjoy both bands; Amy and Carly both sing really well live, but the thing is, the two bands are SO different, even though they are of the same genre. Evanescence is more emotional and falls more in the category of sadness, while We are the Fallen emphasize more on vengeance and anger. 'Which band is better' fails to contain enough importance to be argued over. Can't we all just enjoy music in peace, like its made for?

Actually no, Ben came up with the concept of the song in a poem he wrote for his grandfather. Then Amy and Ben translated it into a song together. So Amy did have some say in the writing process of that song. You can hear that in older EP versions of the song. Anyways, even if she hadnt had any part in that writing process it wouldnt be relevant to the argument.

And you arent getting what I'm saying. Most of the songs that Evanecence write, you cant fake a face while hitting those notes. Its just the natural face that Amy makes when singing that is so beautiful and emotional. now I could understand being able to fake on songs like My Immortal, or Swimming Home. But I highly doubt it.

dont get me wrong Amys got an amazing voice but look for the video of Evanescence 99 its from here in Little Rock at a bar called Vinos. You gotta realize Evanescence only played like 2 shows before they got signed. They got very lucky and a producer heard there demo while they were getting it mastered and like it cause it was different and got them signed but they had basically no stage experience
Carly may be able to hold a tune on stage. And dont get me wrong I love both bands. But Amy has an amazing stage presence and has much more emotion in her voice. And also, if Amy can sit down and actually sing she sounds better. Carly doesn't move that much on stage while she sings. In Some of these videos she is actually laying down or sitting. Amy is always moving, or going back and forth between the keyboard and piano.

Everyone has different views on the Evanescence line-up, some people think it died in 2002 when David Hodges left 3 months before the debut album 'Fallen was released, some people think it died in 2003 when Ben Moody left and some people think it died in 2007 when John LeCompt and Rocky Gray left (these 2 weren't original members) but surely 1 original member and Terry Balsamo who joined in 2003 is better that no band at all.

This song -- makes We Are The Fallen is a bit heavier than Evanescence. It owes itself to Black Sabbath with the riffing. Evanescence brought back solos to the modern metal scene, that made them stand out from the nu-metal counterparts. St. John -- Carly proves herself as a Gothic Metal siren. "My Questions Have No Answers" would actually fit a Black Sabbath song.

She sang nothing like that in the real concert, I was there and her vocals qare suuuuuuper ultra polished in this DVD they are even changed, she at parts stayed silent while her hair was in her face so the camera couldn't pic she missed some lyrics, and in this DVD she sang perfectly like in the studio hitting all the hight long notes, but in reality she dodged majority of the high notes, shorter notes, rushed words cause she was being out of breath, You can compare it yourself, listen to this same concert by a fan perspective, listen 10 seconds of each and each and compare how different she really sounded live. ruclips.net/video/AwXaWGWOQHY/видео.html

Carly is a good and phenomenal singer but she didn't needed to copy Amy, she needed to sang in her own style with them, and not replicate her long high notes, bc she can't handle them doing them all night on a tour daily every time they played this songs.

i saw them live 2010 in st louis at the pageant. they opened for HIM on that tour. a good friend of mine got her picture taken with carly and marty.
