    How is The Miracle on Grass 8th??? The greatest single play from the backline to forward, in one the the greatest comebacks ever, to win after the siren by the milestone man. Also more credit needs to go to Adcock in that play, brilliant quick hand pass that made the mark possible. Deserved 1st or 2nd. I do love Malcolm's godly kick that almost left the stratosphere. Being a North supporter makes it all the more better.

Still a Yank, that loves Footy more than ANY American sport! I really got into Footy in 2015/16, and with the beer bug, I've been finding old games 80s, 90s, The Line in the Sand! The Jack Newnes goal after the siren, first tabonar (sorry if I spelt wrong) was trying to keep it in play, second Gibbons was the closest to the ball when it went out, third how they gave away the free kick, brayshaw was in mid air so he can’t stop his momentum because he was in mid air and it was a slight push last Doesnt matter who it is the ball went out further out
    Conclusion 2020 umpiring is bad

    • @TheSlenderKill
      @TheSlenderKill 3 года назад

      figures ur a richmond supporter. definitely deliberate, downfield was soft very 50/50 don't really like it paid in the last seconds of the match but technically there, Gibbons is a better kick for goal than Newnes but yes that was the wrong decision. Last how can you tell where the ball went out? You're saying the crappy TV camera angle can better tell where the ball went out than the 2 onfield umpires standing right there? You are delusional. Port supporter btw.

    • @TheClownCostume
      @TheClownCostume 3 года назад +1

      hahaha mate Tabonar was NOT trying to keep that in, he hit it out! And Brayshaw ELECTED to bump him as he landed, he didn't need to do that.
      I will grant the fact that Gibbons should have been the one to kick it though.

    • @2pro4u2c
      @2pro4u2c 3 года назад +1

      Taberner did not try to keep it in play, there was no attempt at possession he smashed it straight towards the boundary. Brayshaws "momentum" is completely irrelevant, it's irrelevant in every single rule, like high contact. Brayshaw also aimed his shoulder into him before contact, should have bear hugged him and it wouldn't be a free.

      @@brettjacobs3512 Comparing back to back they are very very similar. Grays was taken pretty much from the same distance about 4-5m closer. And Newnes was 10m closer to the right. A difference I wouldn't ride home too much about. Forget the controversy surrounding the Newnes goal as its still counted. Both are great but for me its Grays. The thing that drives it home for me is how hard they tried to get the goal. Marshalls shocker, Butters brilliant save. And just the sheer effort from the boys to stop their run and get it back to the 50. And to top it off one of the best victory photos ever ;)

    • @eldiablo8580
      @eldiablo8580 3 года назад

      @Captain Boomer ok, let me put this another way coz you obviously didn't read my comment properly:-
      Q: How many premierships has your club won in a year that starts with the number '2' (i.e. the last 20 years)? A: 0 Q: How many premierships has your club won since the VFL became the AFL? A: 1
      How many of your clubs premierships were earned in the "inferior" VFL pre-1990 era ? A: 15 (PA=36). So, obviously Stix Kernahan and Craig Bradley are "inferior" players because they came from an "inferior" league? (Obviously)
      So, do you even remember Carlton's last Grand Final win? (1995) or the one before that? (1987) or the back to back in '81-'82?? Were you even alive then? If the SANFL is such an inferior league, why did you poach so many of their players over the years? Why did you make one Captain, then President of your club? A whole generation of human beings has been born since your club's last flag and your team doesn't even look anywhere near like making a Grand Final any time soon or in the foreseeable future

    • @eldiablo8580
      @eldiablo8580 3 года назад

      @Captain Boomer Well, if you didn't already know, the biggest reason for players leaving SA in the 70s and 80s was $$$$$ p
      Professionalism was not in existence back then. The $ was not the guiding factor in people playing, as most players had day jobs, you know that as well as I do. To say that the league was inferior is like me saying that the VFL prior to 1990 was inferior = absolute rubbish. And what about all those State of Origin victories?? Were players not giving a toss when they played those games?? Don't think so. Look mate you can only judge us on our time in the big league 1997 onwards 23 years. We have a premiership, provably should've had more. I stand by what I said, I'll believe your team is premiership material when they display signs of at least playing finals. At the moment they are not and there's no point talking about a distant future that hasn't even occurred yet. And to say I'll be regretting my words for the next 80 years... nice fantasy mate

      @Captain Boomer I hope so buddy, for your sake and for the AFL as a whole. Carlton are a proud and successful club and it's not right that they have been stuck out in the wilderness for now on over two decades. I admire your passion and devotion to your club and hope that you guys grow into that premiership window for you and all your fellow members and supporters. Also, I don't know why I've become so argumentative in my old age. No hard feelings mate 👍

  • @aded6121
    @aded6121 3 года назад +12

    Hawkins, longmuir, newnes, and ash McGrath are top 5 worthy.
    It is a strange thing with humans where we always look at the past with a lot more bias for some baffling reason, in all aspects of our culture.
    In this case, half of those older clips would not even make this list if they happened in recent times.. How is Ablett kicking a goal from the goal square better then Brisbane coming from 50 points down in the last quarter, moving the ball from the back pocket to a shot on goal in 15 seconds and he nails it from outside 50 in his milestone game!!
    'Because Abletts was in a prelim'.
    STFU, that has absolutely 0% bearing. If that was the case then longmuirs kick was to get freo into the finals, so why isn't that one higher.
    Also, with abletts, it was a draw and a behind would have sufficed. A goal was not needed to win the game.
    I knew when I clicked on this that all the modern ones would be last and all the older ones will be higher.
    I would like to know the person / people who made this list. It had to be made by someone. I would like to speak to that someone to see their reasoning. They would have had to go through all the clips and make a list. It's not 'top 10 after the siren goals' it's 'top 10 after the siren goals according to me, the guy who made this video.'
    Why are we so afraid to say Fyfe is the best player of all time? He clearly is, but we are obsessed with the past. The regarded 'top 5' players ever are all from older days. If Fyfe played in the 70's or 80's he would have 7-8 brownlows already.

    • @aded6121
      @aded6121 3 года назад +1

      @Harvey Lyall He does things no other player can do, if you watch him closely you see things that defy natures laws. Most complete player.
      His best stuff is not found in his highlights packages sadly.. there was one moment from 2015 at the cattery he was alone in d50 with Hawkins and Steve Johnson. He held Hawkins off with one hand took a one hander then fended off Hawkins and just barged through Johnson as if he wasn't there. Treats other players like meat.
