      Hey! I’m glad you’ve come along to our great game! (I know, 2 years too late lol). It’s a really amazing sport to follow as an Aussie myself and I personally recommend following the sport. It’s such a unique sport compared to all of the other major ones in the world. It sort of combines them into one crazy game of keepings off and it’s really an amazing sport to watch. I’d definitely recommend coming to a game if you ever come to Australia (especially a night game in Melbourne at the MCG). I personally love American Football as well. It’s around my second favourite to watch and I think you’ll enjoy watching AFL :D

    I was there for Ben Dixon's in 2001. A horrid first 3 quarters but that finish more than made up for it. Dicko was me fave player at the time. Got his signature on the Monday Sport lift out cover that featured the mark, goal and celebration. Still got it out in the Bar. Great moment of sport to bear witness to as a mad Hawks fan.
    And sadly I was there for Hawkins 50 meter bomb. I had to laugh at that one. Hawks were down by 54 points just after quarter time to then hit the front and be leading as the final siren goes to then lose... well, what else could one do but (manically) laugh...?
    Great memories with all of these moments! I wish Fox Footy would play more older games during the week. With todays technology with the IQ, replaying the current weeks games ad nauseam is a touch superfluous.

    5:15 you know that one hurt Eddie, that aside the lions goal after the siren from ash McGrath has got to be the best goal after the siren I’ve ever seen after the comeback they had. Jamie Elliot against Essendon recently is my second favourite 👌

      An obvious omission. And Gary Ablett Snr. 2 weeks later in the Preliminary Final against North Melbourne.

    • @Nathan-gd7xq
      @Nathan-gd7xq 4 года назад

      The Ablett one probably wasn't included because the kick itself was a fairly straightforward shot, right in front about 10 metres out.

      @darrenmiles-morland8038 4 года назад

      @@Nathan-gd7xq So then, can you tell me why the Gary Rowan one for the Swans against Essendon at the SCG was included? His was even more straight forward than Ablett's. It was from point blank range, he'd have had to have fallen over to miss it, and it wasn't even in a final.
