My question is when he dragged about UPS, and helping negotiating their living wage, why didn't he say anything about the layoffs at UPS since this went into effect, also where were the Teamsters when they started allowing MEXICAN, CANADIAN TRUCK DRIVERS TO CROSS OVER the border and come into the US, to pickup freight eliminating thousands of AMERICAN truck driving jobs, and that under a Democratic president, NATO, so as I agree with the fair wage, what about lack of production for companies, and can FED EX do what UPS does? Cheaper? Better? I don't know exactly, and I'm not anti union, but I also know that I don't see the them on the border protesting cheap foreign labor, unless I'm missing something.
FedEx does what UPS does... They just do it by contracting the work out to 3rd parties so that the drivers get paid half as much with no benefits. I thought UPS would collapse with the last negotiation but I'm glad they didn't. I worked as a fedex ground contracted delivery driver for 4 years and it is a mess. I hope UPS sticks it out and continues to show it can be done while giving their employees a good living.
The teamsters opted to endorse Reagan after deregulation of the trucking industry that decimated the trucking industry. Reagan was not the answer from organized labor and did a lot of harm to working class america. UPS/fed ex rates are very comparable. UPS tends to provide better on time reliability and also produces higher profit margins. Fed ex model relies on contractors and has a larger work force, doing less work because they choose cheap contractor work. They can't get workers to work longer harder days paying peanuts so more workers are needed compared to UPS.
Republicans got a photo op and teamsters got a national platform to speak to Republicans on workers issues. But the majority of republican politicians will never allow pro worker legislation to pass

Taken for granted would be how the teamsters miss managed the central state's pension fund and tried screwing retired drivers like my father out of what he was owed after retiring being 100 percent vested. Because some greedy individuals were most likely padding their own pockets with the money that never belonged to them. They even were trying to cut his monthly pension payments in half they didn't get away with that, luckily. But it definitely took a toll stressing him out, wondering how he was going to pay for things to simply live out his life while he was fighting cancer. He has since passed on after a long battle with cancer, so he doesn't have to worry about it anymore, but i still had to see the toll that stress of thinking he was loosing everything that he worked so hard for being away from his family for so many years providing for us took on him. I don't trust anything coming out of a union member's mouth, whatever.

Got my cdl 2022 got accident in my personal vehicle for a fender bender that I was at fall for nobody will hire me after that they said I had to wait a year now that I went in my ear. They want me to take a refresher cord. I have to pay for that too. I ain’t got money like that. I really was trying to drive a truck. I’ve been waiting on that for a long time and now I can’t even do it.

Unions have pretty much outlived their time, but I would say this is a very important role. He’s playing for ALL truck drivers even though he’s mostly representing unions & I am very pleased that a Truck Driver representative is recognized at the RNC. I don’t know anything about him, but I would assume he would be a much better representative concerning trucking regulations than what we currently have.
I loved this speech and I support truckers everywhere. I support unions and the rights of American workers. His speech didn’t do Trump any favors because trump doesn’t support unions.
I watched his speech also and I felt as though he was selling the union's values moreso than talking about the trucking community as a whole. Got my cdl 2022 got accident in my personal vehicle for a fender bender that I was at fall for nobody will hire me after that they said I had to wait a year now that I went in my ear. They want me to take a refresher cord. I have to pay for that too. I ain’t got money like that. I really was trying to drive a truck. I’ve been waiting on that for a long time and now I can’t even do it.

Unions have pretty much outlived their time, but I would say this is a very important role. He’s playing for ALL truck drivers even though he’s mostly representing unions & I am very pleased that a Truck Driver representative is recognized at the RNC. I don’t know anything about him, but I would assume he would be a much better representative concerning trucking regulations than what we currently have.

I watched his speech also and I felt as though he was selling the union's values moreso than talking about the trucking community as a whole. He has always sided with the Left, but most truckers side with the Right. That's why he said, "....the Teamsters are selling out....". Remember YELLOW was part of the Teamsters and had to shutdown because of Teamsters dues.

If you can't feel a major difference from Obama's presidency, you aren't paying attention. It's not great, but frankly, if this is Biden a decade late, we probably should've had him as President 2008-2016 instead of Obama. Would've been alright for a dem.
