this is (in my humble opinion) vintage American heritage. from a time before web_2.0 and cell phones, when history was kept in books or told by word of mouth and folklor. to think of all the culture, history, and roots the world would have lost if not for AlannLomax and and other like-minded individuals . I know I can't imagine the day hearing "how long" or "old screwdriver" by Sam Chatmon at least twice. i wont even start in on a day with out Charley Patton or Boe Carter
Those cicadas in the background. That’s the sound of a deep, hot, end-of-day on a Memphis summer evening. And the feel of Sam’s music. That’s Memphis.
