Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I don’t know who can romanticise this toxic environment. Suleyman was using all of them like toys he never loved any of them..all relationships in harem are so toxic 😐
The real Suleiman loved Hurrem though and made her his legal wife. Through multiple sources from people in the palace, we knew this. He had Mustafa with Mahidevran, but then after Hurrem came along, she bore over 6 children to him. Their love was loyal to each other and Hurrem was an advisor to Suleiman. As gifts, Hurrem asked to browse the library and get books/scrolls/documents from him. We know this from his personal diary. She became very educated about politics and what was happening around the world which is why she is regarded as the most powerful woman in all of Ottoman history.

Logic and logical character development is offered to the soap gods in this series constantly.

Its been 2 weeks since I started to watched this Movie. Hurrem deeply adores and loves Suleyman to the point she almost gave up her life and soul and Suleyman knows and felt it everytime when they are together. and yet he enjoyed those times when hurrem tormented and hurt because of women who got close to him especially now that princess has been arrived in the harem.
It's such a shame and pity to break one's heart just like he did with Mahedevran and now he's going to repeat it with Hurrem 😌💔

It's logical. Ibrahim's married to Hatice. Every man would do the same. He loved Hatice from the very beggining. They were separated because of child's death, so he did a mistake. He let Nigar into his bed because he felt so desparate and lonely, but he'd never do that under normal circumstances. This wickness cost Ibrahim a lot. There was never a chance for Nigar since she fell in love with him. She wasn't an equal rival for Hatice.

Watching this series for the second time, I realized Nigar kalfa was such a loser. Loyal to no one. Not Ibrahim, nor Hurrem. Everyone in the harem was loyal to at least some one , but she just kept playing around here and there and ended up dying.

She kept begging but ended up on the streets, until found by Hurrem. Yet again she betrayed Hurrem and ultimately committed suicide while being chased by men of Rustem. If she had so much money, power and a house ( according to you ) then she would have been able to defeat atleast someone. But she lost everything with such disgraceful and miserable death.
