Greatest Show on Earth and Poet and the Pendulum (both live at Wembley)..... I can't wait for you to react to those 😊😊😊. Yes the "sorrowful but uplifting" aspect is something i can't get enough of in music. It's stunning. Pink Floyd's Great Gig in the Sky is a beauty for that, and also underpinned by transient shifts to a major key from a predominantly minor tonality. You'll also hear a lot of that in Poet and the Pendulum. Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean (live Buenos Aires) is also a song of Nightwish that has an extremely dissonant minor tonality but makes a sudden but beautiful shift to major at the end of the song.
And think about that they were in wembley stadium and filled it, with Richard Dawson in live there. Small country finland but we have some of best bands in world. In heavy rock.
Good reaction video. Only gripe was talking over the incredibly powerful spoken word by Richard Dawkins at the end which hammers home the message of the song.

Amongst all musical references at the end of the song, there is one i think im the only one to know here is a reference at the famous track "the Grid" by Philip Glass, featured on the Soundrack of the movie Koyaanisqatsi (1982). Also Nightwish crew choose to show a typical animation of that movie part on the screen with the cars moving on accelerated time.

This song is based on the book The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution is a 2009 book by British biologist Richard Dawkins, which was released on 3 September 2009 in the UK and on 22 September 2009 in the US. It sets out the evidence for biological evolution, and is Dawkins's 10th book, following his best-selling critique of religion The God Delusion (2006) and The Ancestor's Tale (2004), which traced human ancestry back to the dawn of life. The Nightwish have had three lead singers, Floor Jansen that sings now and the other two are all schooled sopranos.
