It seems to be the make or break thing for him to a lot of people. You either hate it, and therefore cant stand watching his stand-up, or love it as well as his act in general. I think it fits his goofy, dad-joke persona so it works, and if you listen to his podcast, that's pretty much him in real life. Feels really honest. And his jokes aren't half bad either.
@@GhostCroc someone else commented "I love how he laughs at his own jokes cause he's not afraid to enjoy the things he's created" and those are basically my words ripped out of my mouth before I even had em.
I feel like Pete Holmes is the only clean filthy comedian. And no I can't explain what I mean by that, because I'm not entirely sure what it means, it's just how I feel
I saw a similar thing on Will & Grace. They had Joan Collins on. She said something like "You're an idiot, aren't you?" and Grace pointed out that the British will insult you then ask you to agree.😂
Aaaahhhh come on dude, dont be so cruel at him. Anyway, I hear you loud and clear, I like his style and humor tho. Comedy is a matter of preference , just like many ppl like Amy Shumer for example, but I dont.
Spiros Mousouris I can agree that comedy is a matter of preference...to an extent. Once out into the comedy world there are different flavors, absolutely. But there are certain standards that all good comics usually uphold. Pete's delivery and material can use a LOT of work. The reason I can't stand him these days is because he's never improved on that in 5 years. I don't get how his colleagues don't help him out.
His "britishing it" voice sounds like David Thewlis in the Big Lebowski. It looks like a great tactic though. I wonder if there's any examples of this in psychology or an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
i've never seem him do stand up and this is exactly what i expected, also hemakes me feel like he's been the same since 2002 since 2018 and in 2044 no matter what happens to him
dang I have never seen any of his standup. HIs standup is way better than most of his other stuff. (his batman skits were hilarious.) This is where he shines, in my opinion.
Pete's always fucking hilarious. Love the jokes about the JFL set too, it definitely reminds me of the sesame street set from the ones where Grover was a waiter
Some people who live in what is "the Thames estuary" really do speak with an answering a question or making a statement with answering a question statement. Dave Allen did a great sketch on this, which is well worth checking out.
So funny to hear him say he doesn't smoke pot. As a dedicated fan of his podcast.....he most certainly _does_ smoke pot, and take mushrooms, and even chomps nicotine gum cuz he likes the buzz. All of this is done in moderation....and thoughtfully....and is contingent. Pete is a very smart aware human. He may LOOK like a youth pastor.....but he's quite a liberated wise seeker. Pete is definitely one of the good guys.
You may be out of your depth here, he's achieved great success without any of your oh-so-valuable feedback and you sound ridiculous trying to give such amateur hour pointers to an accomplished pro
show was actually really insightful into the comedy/standup world, especially starting out. I'm talkin' about Crashing. And if ya' didn't enjoy the Pete Holmes show, then I don't wanna be friends with you lol but hey, your loss Mr. Joyless
I enjoy how much Pete loves his jokes.
Blair Bird
It's annoying as all fucking hell.

Ehh, I generally like his stand-up, but I think it's weird that he laughs at his own jokes (he really doesn't need weed!)

He seems so sweet and innocent lol
I agree
He's just radiates wholesomeness
You right
He definitely gives off church camp counselor vibes😂😂
The sweet thing about Pete is that he cracks himself up bless
Non-stop. Pete's enthusiasm is non-stop and irrepressible.
You cannot deny his joie de vivre.
the britishing bit is really good
So is the 28 days bit.
I saw a similar thing on Will & Grace. They had Joan Collins on. She said something like "You're an idiot, aren't you?" and Grace pointed out that the British will insult you then ask you to agree.😂
He has so much joy in his stand-up it's so wonderful.
He can say the shittest jokes and I'll still laugh. His delivery always gets me
he said 63 days on Conan, and now I am glad it is 28 days now. after some time he knows himself more.
I'm like five days straight.
Ryan Gosling? 30 minutes.
"You will fuck that man!"
Pete “I don’t smoke pot unless it’s on Getting Doug with High” Holmes.
This was 2014! He’s also into psychedelics. Lol
Daddy Gos - I love how he's worked that all out.
this dude right here, he is like so good and so underrated
Spiros Mousouris
No he's not.. And he's overrated. His stand up is for dumb people and kids.
Aaaahhhh come on dude, dont be so cruel at him. Anyway, I hear you loud and clear, I like his style and humor tho. Comedy is a matter of preference , just like many ppl like Amy Shumer for example, but I dont.
Zombie Revolverheld ,dane cook is that u?

Don't get your comment at all. Not sure what Cook has to do with anything.

Pete is really, really good. Does not do the same stuff as lots of other comics, which makes him funnier.
2:06 slays me every time
Pete is the best, how could you dislike this guy
He's doing the voice he thinks Rory Scovol is doing in his bits 😆🤪
God save the Pete! 🇬🇧
His "britishing it" voice sounds like David Thewlis in the Big Lebowski. It looks like a great tactic though. I wonder if there's any examples of this in psychology or an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Pete on his damn game!
"I don't smoke pot"? what year is this cause nowadays pete can't do a podcast without talking about the last time he got high
NotAnAlien Ikr, I'm thinking like 2013?
2014
i've never seem him do stand up and this is exactly what i expected, also hemakes me feel like he's been the same since 2002 since 2018 and in 2044 no matter what happens to him
Glad to know Pete is still alive and kicking.
It's not like he's in his 70's lol
I love how he's shitting on the interior design all the time
dang I have never seen any of his standup. HIs standup is way better than most of his other stuff. (his batman skits were hilarious.) This is where he shines, in my opinion.
Pete is the best Batman.
Bless this man's soul 💗💗💗
This was a great set
pete is always a delight
thats by far the best i ve seen him do. And i really enjoyed it.
He should do a three's company skit 😊
A nice wholesome comedian.
Fantastic set
“Cheers” 🤣
Pete's always fucking hilarious. Love the jokes about the JFL set too, it definitely reminds me of the sesame street set from the ones where Grover was a waiter
ihearcalling Jacksonville FL?
Tommy Northwood Just For Laughs

So awesome!!
love ya Petey-poops!
"Thank you Canadia!"
wut?
thank you canadia!!
Ok. Let‘s be honest. That was hilarious!
Lets be honest. No. We all came from his latest video that went viral about space and molecules. This was horseshit.
So funny to hear him say he doesn't smoke pot.

I need a hot plate lol
So goddamn likeable
Pete is one of the greats!
This is, most definitely, an old recording.
Also, all the ''comedy critics'' here are got damn ridiculous. ^^
i need a hot plate!
He’s come a long way. This is ok 🤷♂️ but he’s Soo much deeper and funnier now.
PIIIEERRCEEE
MORE CHANDELIERS PIERCCEEEE
I had thought that Pete Holmes was 0 days straight.
Plot twist! 😂😂😂
wasn't this shot almost 10 years ago? that's the same club JFL used for some stand up show with Jon Dore in like2010
“More chandeliers!”
As a straight man Pete, Ryan Gosling was a good choice! 🤣
13 days! Lol.
Didn't see that one coming! Lol
Why devil horn logo? Im not understanding....
I miss you , Pete
I like Pete Holmes, but i think he is much better at sketch comedy then stand up. Still funny though.
Why is this blocked in the USA? I had to use a VPN to watch this.
and then a rescue helicopter arrives, and a comedian writes some new material
What you know bout green eggs n ham
PIERCE!!!!!!
He looks like he could be Ray Romano's little brother
Yo Pete you also kinda look like Richard Thomas
I did the you laugh you lose challenge to this. I didn't laugh, I lose.
I see mr. beast in the left corner
D
Do you get a coin for 28 days being straight?
Did he just pitch the plot for the movie Biosphere?
He looks like a cartoon jfk
He just couldn't quit him...
*Brokeback Heckler.*
Rated R.
i love his stand up comedy; i totally don't like him as a chat show host
I think you are wrong about that 28 days bit. I still wouldn’t.
Painful thought init?
daddy gos
Infinitely better than that other Pete “comedian”
Like 28 out of 30 days?
He started out lame but got pretty funny halfway in & then the plot twist 😂 it was kinda predictable though.
idk
No I wouldn't period
That turned out Gay quickly
Mr. 'Giggling and laughing at his own bland material' is back!
What a nightmare scenario stuck on an island with only Pete Holmes.
This crowd is so weird
Since HBO he's been cursing a lot..
STOLEN JOKE, plain copy pasted...
Material was pretty good but he needs to work on his delivery and timing
Next time he opens for you or does a cameo on your HBO show, you and judd apatow can sit him down and give him some career pointers
He has. It's called workshopping a bit. The finished product is way better.
He's still awkward though... I think he needs to slow down
You may be out of your depth here, he's achieved great success without any of your oh-so-valuable feedback and you sound ridiculous trying to give such amateur hour pointers to an accomplished pro
You seem to be missing the point entirely but you're entitled of course to your opinions; take care.
Meh.. ok..
The worlds worse British accent
.
And this is why I didn’t watch his show
show was actually really insightful into the comedy/standup world, especially starting out. I'm talkin' about Crashing. And if ya' didn't enjoy the Pete Holmes show, then I don't wanna be friends with you lol but hey, your loss Mr. Joyless
dan lowe
No kidding. His show was just painful to watch. Holmes needs to stick to acting out sketches.
Zombie Revolverheld Which one? Crashing or the Pete Holmes show?
I liked his old show a lot. Didn't really find anything here funny, at all.
Chris the drinker of bleach.
His show was just as bad, all he did was let the guests make him laugh while he covered his face with his hands.
13 DAYS
