I wonder what the profit incentive for this is. Do region locked songs get more traction in the locked regions, more than they would worldwide if they weren't locked?
There could be incentives. Similarly to people who do platform exclusives, regional exclusives can send traffic to specific platforms and avenues. Alternatively, it could just be for the culture more than profit or stats.

Correct, although the JP release existed before the JP accounts. So at the time, the only news of its release was from puppet directly.
